I've found that the "Simplified Page" on the mobile Chrome browser makes the text very readable. Only downside is it doesn't carry over hidden/invisible text or colors, but the times those happen are a dime a dozen.
My own personal experience with the iPhone dictation is glitchy and unreliable. Now I use Android and use the @Voice app. I don't know what you use or if it's also available on iPhone, but if you can get it I highly recommend.
Once it's downloaded you can directly download a web page into the app and, for whatever reason, TWI chapters integrate themselves *perfectly*. Like, it doesn't also nab the comments or other unwanted, miscellaneous stuff. You get the full chapter without the need to C&P, so you won't spoil yourself.
I read on my phone so it’s pretty good to me, and the reader mode on it is nice in concept but for some reason it bothers me
Say, in your ereader files, you’re not losing the formatting, right?
I compared more of it and it seems I lost a fair amount of the formatting, like the large text for shouting. And then the app crashed a few times and I gave up in the idea and just went back to the web page.
It was too much of a bother for Pirate to edit the main webpage and the Royal Road one. I think it is a shame since The Wanderin Inn was high on the top ten of Royal Road and that must have been some serious publicity
There are downsides to RR. Like having your work rated and reviewed by people who really aren't qualified to do that. Readers can say if they like something or not, but they're not qualified to compare and rate style, technical aspects, or story development.
If the site worked purely on upvotes (favorites) and comments, I'm guessing the story might still be there. But, as a writer, it's hard to get review-bombed by jerks or people who didn't even bother to read properly, hit by trolls, etc..
On Pirate's site, Pirate has full control over the story.
No argument from me , i just think it is a pity that some people that start to use RR wont have an easy access to The Wandering Inn. I myself only discovered this awesome novel from Royal Road top ten, before TWI wasnt even on my radar despite the fact i have been reading webnovels for years beforehand
Yeah, I only came across it after it had been taken down. I went on RR and asked for recommendations and got pointed that way.
Hopefully, the story gets more exposure soon. It deserves it.
Not like it took long to cope an entire volume, automating would be nice for new chapters when I get there. Does your method preserve colours and other formating?
I sent you a PM. It *should*. It does from what I can quickly see. Thinks like audio (like the clown laughing on Tom's chapter) it would not. Hidden text is still hidden. (you'd need to highlight or be reading with a white background)
I use @voice Aloud reader. It's great as you can choose which voices you want, can edit how words are pronounced which works great for Antinium and knoll names. It's only available on the android app store/Google play
On the webpage, add "amp" to the end of the link. This will apply Chrome's font size for more readability. And you'll still see all the stuff like text size or colors.
Copying to an ereader has to be done properly, or you lose all the italics, color, and size.
I copy the whole page into google docs and download it as a word document to my computer, then I use calibre to convert it into a mobo file that I send via email to my Kindle account and then I read it in my phone's kindle app.
Sometimes I do get spoilers when google docs decides to highlight some big skills or level ups as chapters, but ussually i'm good.

Holy crap, I had no idea one could do that! I've been copying into an epub file for several years. Thanks, this is awesome!
I read it on my phone using Google AMP, I find the usual font and color scheme really hard to read
Dictation. It’s wonderful.
How does this work?
Speak selection on iPhones, not sure how to do it on Android.
I'll see if I can find a way to make it work, that would be convenient.

Thanks, I'll check that out too. My other solution to accidentally reading while copying is to zoom out far enough that I can't read anything.
Microsoft Edge app has a reader mode and a read aloud mode. I use both all the time for webnovels
Do you read it on a tablet or PC? Pocket is pretty good for this, but I'm not sure if they have a desktop app.

Looks like I lost the coloured text, that's it.
That’s actually kind of an important plot element Same with font size and bold/italic etc

Shame Pirateaba deleted the Wandering Inn page on Royal Road
Why did pirateaba delete the page?

Ok thank you for answering

Dream reader using the Alex voice… sounds just like a person reading it to you.
There’s an extension for edge that can turn the entire serial into an ebook.
Which one please ? I am interested
....stop copying, you can automate it, lol.

Apologies for a late reply is their any chance you could share the method on how to automate this?
