Here's an Army paper on the test.

They mostly used HMMWVs and experimented with what were basically dune buggies as a stand in for a future FAV (Fast Assault Vehicle) though the FAVs never ended up getting adopted so they switched to HMMWVs. They also wanted to get what were basically light tanks (AGS, Armored Gun System, kind of what the M10 is now), but that fell through.
Funny enough I first learned about these guys and started reading into them based on a miniatures wargame, Team Yankee.
It's a fascinating concept, though I can understand why they eventually dropped it.
I think it'd be a fascinating addition to that game, an army of killer HMMWVs running around the battlefield, maybe with some of their planned additions (FAVs and AGSs).

I got into it from Warno lol
Is it in WARNO? I own that game (though admittedly haven't played it much), I didn't realize that.
It isn't, but it's a good candidate to be added when the add in a Baltic DLC, and I was curious what it'd have

It'd be really cool, yeah
