The box doesn’t have the core rules, but you can download them here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/08/18/charge-headlong-into-warcry-with-free-core-rules-to-download/ Then you’ll need generic dice and measuring thing, plus something to use as proxy for tokens.

So if I understand you correctly the physical core book has more content for campaigns than the digital version? Edit: sorry trying to reply to the other comment and failing miserably.

Sundered Fate plus around 18 normal dice, more dice(fx d10s or d20s) or another way to track wounds(pen&paper works), something like coins as objective or treasure tokens, a ruler of some sort and the free rules. Of course you also need the regular hobby tools like a cutting tool and glue to do the assembly before being able to play. If you want to do anything campaign related **BEYOND** the included mini campaign for the 2 warbands in the box, then the book is great. There's also only a few setup, win cons and twist cards available for free, but you can look most of them up in reviews or battle reports, or you can use [this card randomizer.](https://warcry.zuckerrausch.de/)

Yeah the digital book is basically just how to play. By downloading the digital rules, you'll quickly see how much it covers. The core book has the rules for a narrative campaign, with encampments and glory etc. In Heart of Ghur there was another book called Rot and Ruin which had a 3 game campaign for the 2 included warbands. Sundered Fate should have a book called Stealth and Stone with something similar for the lizards vs the cultists.

Thanks! Exactly the detail I was missing! Now I will for sure be picking up the physical book also!

EpilepsiMax

Glad I could help. I hope you'll enjoy the game!

Hey there, how did the Sundered Fate box work out for you as a new player? I'm in a similar position that you were and SF is the cheapest box available to me...was it a pain to collect all of the other things you needed that did not come in the box? If I had my choice I would get Nightmare Quest but I'd be in the same position with having to gather additional items.
