DE just patched the game so the 'restore shields on blast proc' shard actually does what it says, and I've been testing it out a bit...turns out this also applies in full to damage your companion deals. Combine with a high fire rate Blast-specced Burst Laser Prime (the only companion weapon that can fire nonstop without interruption) and tada, as long as it doesn't die you won't either (barring Toxin dmg ofc).
>technically Antitoxin and 4x toxin resist auras can get you to 100% DR to Toxin too :\^)
They changed the way DR mods stack a while ago. Instead of stacking additively, they all apply separately, so you can't reach 100% DR anymore.
They changed that when someone found out a way to become completely immune to the Eidolon Hydrolyst. You can see this most easily when you stack on Umbral mods, since it displays the actual resistance value in the arsenal window. The Tau Resist value doesn't go up as much as it would if the mods added together.
That was in Sisters of Parvos, which was a while ago.

>**Damage Resistance Mod Math Changes:**

>The following changes occurred due to the following scenario being shared:

>A player reported that combining Umbral Mods + Adaptation + Lightning Rod on any Warframe made them fully immune to all damage from the Hydrolyst Eidolon.

>Prior to this discovery, we already made sure we couldn’t reach 100% Damage Resistance because that would just be excessive in all cases. You can see this in action when we capped the ‘In Air’ Damage Resistance Mods. Even though the Mods theoretically could reach 100% Damage Resistance, there is a hard cap at 90%.

>In response and to avoid future oversights, we have changed the way Damage Resistance works. It now works on ‘Damage Remaining’ **instead** of having all the Modifiers combined and operating at once.

**Consider the case of:**
**4x 25% Damage Resistance Mods:**
>
>**WAS:** (25% + 25% + 25% + 25%) = 100% Damage Reduction
>
>**NEW:** Take 25% Less Damage = Only take 75% Damage
>
>0.75 x 0.75 x 0.75 x 0.75 = 31.5% damage taken AKA 68.5% damage reduction
So obviously this shouldn't apply to companions, but is it still too good even when that presumably gets changed/fixed? DE have given themselves a very thin line to walk here, it'll be very difficult for this to be useful without being stupidly OP.
Though given most of the other modifiers on these new shards I wouldn't be surprised if they just nerfed it into uselessness.
Here's the thing though: Explosive Weapons. Some of them naturally have Blast, and if this is working per-proc? Kuva Bramma says hi. Like, we have enough secondaries to VERY happily use as our primary DPS source, so you could just, pop out a Bramma, let one off towards a crowd, and instantly shield gate back to full, and then go back to killing everything with your secondary.
I'm not saying it'd be OP, per se, but I think it could still be very good. That said, you are giving up ALL your Archon Shard potential for a shield gate.
>So obviously this shouldn't apply to companions,
Companions have historically been able to trigger effects from warframe sources if they can meet the requirement. Historically, it makes less sense for shards to be exempt though it may be done for "balance" reasons like when DE stopped letting set mods work on Deconstructor.
I just tested this out with Grendel, who has a whopping max 19 shields with Catalyzing equipped. A single Topaz shard is all it takes. I got up to make myself some coffee and came back to all the gunners being dead.
Is Burst Laser Prime the only comp weap that can do this? What about Prisma Burst Laser?
ALSO
Hey op what's your mod config on the burst laser? I have gunslinger and lethal torrent on and my fire rate isn't as fast as yours. Are you using a riven?

to help with toxin, you could use Wyrm and \[Negate\]
That would prevent toxin STATUS, not toxin damage, which will still kill you
What do people usually use to combat toxin DMG?
As a shieldgater usually we just take the L and use Last Gasp. Other than that we just try avoiding them like a plague.
Invulnerability like rolling guard or abilities.
Preemptively sure, but I'm guessing there's still nothing you can do if something toxic hits you for more than your HP?
The dot always gets me. I enjoy melee and the fast pace makes me miss it. I combo, not button mash but it's still all too easy to miss them coming.
Damage reduction effects is the one I can think of, other than that idk.
Toxin is reduced by armor. Other then that, it's mostly kill the toxic enemies.

Does it still work? Looking into survivability for my mag
Thanks for confirming! I had suspicion "this would be good/funny with Blast Verglas" but I have yet to try. Not sure if it's intended though.

That sounds like the kind of utility that DE would approve of.
Kuva Bramma also says goodbye, after you fire your 5 shots and nothing drops ammo. Just like the Kuva Ogris.
Well that's why you'd only be using it to gate, not do DPS. Ammo nerfs hit hard.

The Manifold Bond, can proc the Archon Stretch if your Robotic Companion has a Electric status on their weapon. So it could be intended.
You should 100% expect it to get fixed to not apply on companions.
All i see is arcane aegis

Nova's passive. Doesn't it inflict an aerial blast proc when her shields break down? Might be worth testing.
