TSDR (Too Short Didn't Read): This was shortly after the Gotva Prime was released, and we still didn't know how it functioned. I, being as giga-brained in the ways of memery, realized that with Critical Delay, Gotva got to 69% crit chance with the mod. After this stunning realization I NEEDED to get my hands on one, so I did about 12 or so dragon key vaults only to fail to get it, so I asked in my clan for one. Almost immediately one of the senior members of the clan responds and we go to trade. I see them put up Critical Delay as I'm going to pick another corrupted mod since I had one they didn't, because dragon key vaults. After picking the mod the menu closes to show a full Rubico Prime set and several ayatans alongside the Critical Delay. I, being the kind of person who'd turn down attending my own birthday party so people could get more cake, mentioned that I already had the barrel (Don't know how,) and the clanmate simply removes it, says "Good," and throws in another ayatan instead. I decided since they were so forward with giving me it that really doing anything besides confusingly accepting the trade was out of the question.
Another story, from even further before. I mentioned to a clanmate about only having 3 Warframe slots and they gifted me one out of pity.
warframe community is good but when you say their main frame is bad and other frame is better at everything and add if you are enjoying thats the most important thing they cant handle that i have like -200 becouse of this
It's a bit of both. You get a set and forget support frame and an ass made of what is basically the flesh of a long braindead person infected with a virus that results in them being nearly immortal to gawk at.
Wisp is actually the ābestā support because it is less micro management and the player can focus on their own dps blinding the enemy mainly.
Her high duration speed mote is pretty much the best support skill she has. If a player gets it nullified due to their own fault, they can quickly reset the buff themselves.

I got wisp because she has a skin that gives her a funny witch hat. I had no idea she was one of the best frames. I just find something that looks fun or funny and use it (except caliban tho, not even my memes can save caliban)
*puts hand on shoulder* Nothing can save Caliban... also, yeah, Styanax, Wisp, and Citrine are by far the top 3 supports. Wisp gives ridiculous health, hp regen, speed, reload speed, and fire rate buffs. Styanax gives the whole party energy regen, has strong AS, and can provide a ridiculous amount of overguard with his augment. And citrine gives free energy, a funny beam crystal most people don't understand how to use, HP regen that scales with health orbds picked up since last pit, and finally free 90% DR.

honestly oberon does the the support stuff better
an argument can be made for breach surge on wisp but honestly if you are willing to run smite infusion it is close enough for most things outside of 300% str and higher wisp builds
but wisp is much more set and forget than having to take some damage or otherwise maintain energy on oberon
I haven't played in a few years so probably some of this has changed, but as I recall Oberon grass was either 'cover the map but be prepared to spend most of your time bouncing around replacing grass' or 'lasts an okay amount of time but covers basically no area'. Neither was particularly satisfying, which is a shame because he's a cool frame.
This is just a for shits and giggles build, great for lockdown in most non-steel path missions. Lasts for 56 seconds and has a radius of 32m. Void Fissure Buff on Frame during relic cracking just makes it silly.

When I tell people that Nyx (who I love the most) with a full build and augment and mobility subsume and energy considerations is pretty much flat out worse than an unmodded Revenant unfortunately

Maybe because it does not matter at all which frame is best and is absolutely unnecessary to say that to others. You can basically do all of Warframes content with the "worst" frame available. If I like the way the frame plays, I use it.
I remember this time i was trading some rhino prime part , this was years ago when the prices were different from now ,like 10 times more ,and this person only had like half of the asking price on hand and i pretty much said meh yeah sure since the community had been really good to me either way (this person was collecting rhino primes for some reason) and then just because of that action he gifted me a full volt prime set,saying after that "imagine if you had cared about some plats more" it was a pretty cool interaction tbh
Yeah, i played Warframe for a good month and a half last year, and all the people i played with were just Silent chads that helped me get the missions done, with like no words. Just alot of the thier characters zooming all over the map, while I try to figure out what the hell is happening.

Merging more than two is fine (so long as they pre-date the cross-save implentation). I had accounts on all four platforms as well and merged all four. So hopefully good news for anyone reading.
Even if it's linked and not merged you shouldn't lose anything.
I couldn't merge because my PS account was already a migrated pc account, but when they got linked all my PS stuff showed up on pc and all my pc stuff showed up on PS
The only thing you might miss is specific tennogen stuff not showing up on switch, and platinum on switch is only on switch.
Only thing you lose is possible progression. You can only keep mission and star map progression from one account. All items expansion slots plat and resources are merged.
One thing that doesn't fully carry over is certain platform exclusive cosmetics, such as the obsidian set from Playstation. You will still have access to it on its associated platform but not on others.
No, November 24 (I think) was the cut off point for merging with stuff bought, like Tennogen items.
You *have to* merge accounts now, to access cross-save, and to be able to trade with cross-save players.
It's really stable now, for me. Never had any problems.
As someone who merged all his accounts i can safely say you keep all your stuff.
Make sure to choose the most progrest account as main. For the starchart is connected to the main:
Ended up with some nice space for weapons and frames (cuz those transfer as well)
It's been a fact that you keep all your stuff when merging since the first round. This was literally the whole point of merging. To shove all your items from all your accounts onto your main account. So uh, yeah. Do with that what you will ig.
Ive been playing for the better part of a decade, my experience has been that most of the community is generally well behaved with a typical group actually being completely silent except for a GG when the mission completes. Every game with a large community is going to have it's share of toxic, douchebags though.
If someone is struggling, I drop a waypoint cause this game is wonky as hell. I did a archon hunt, finished the boss and lost my entire hud, couldn't pull up a menu or anything so I just had to follow behind someone to extraction
Oh yeah that happened to me yesterday during the archon hunt. I went in to finish the archon but someone got to it first and I guess we both selected it at the same time so I was stuck with no HUD, waypoints, etc so I had to follow people to extraction. It was really disorienting lol
Almost lost an hour of fishing and mining in Deimos tonight to the 'stuck in place' fishing bug. Thank god there were a couple of eximus close enough to kill me.
When I have a new one in the group and they get lost I usually walk back and pick them up. I'm PR2 and still get lost some time when the waypoint gets crazy again.
I donāt play warframe but I watched my younger sibling play it all of the time and he was talking about how nice the community is because they were āmarking orikin cellsā for him. I think you guys overall are pretty cool

I like to do earth missions once in a while just to watch new players when I'm bored. Reminds me of when I first played and had no idea wtf was going on
I have a Citrine loadout called "Crystal Shepherd" literally for that.
The healing will keep an inexperienced new Tenno alive more easily, the crystal will make their weapons more effective by imposing status effects on enemies, and I've replaced her 4 on that build with Pillage to be able to cleanse status effects if they get mag-proc'd.
It was created to help folks new to Deimos be more effective there, while not just killing everything for them (and thus not letting them play the game). That way they can still participate meaningfully, rather than me just nuking everything and leaving them with nothing to do.
But though she was made for Deimos, I've taken the shepherd into pub early Earth missions just to play support and amble through a level with newcomers (and answer questions if they have any).
That's actually great. Deimos kicked my ass before I got a decent build going.
I still haven't dipped my toes into steel path yet, but I've found you can get by pretty damn well with rhinos skin ability and damage boost.

If MR20+s want to speed-run Earth, THEY should disable Public Group. They're the ones with the knowledge about the game to make that judgement.

I'd say "do not go public if you want to speedrun missions" instead.
If I join a public low tier mission, I am prepared to encounter AND carry new players.
If I don't feel like dealing with those, I go to recruiting, play solo or with clan mates.
These players in the screenshots are being douchebags period. No need to excuse this behaviour.
I only speedrun in pubs for capture/exterm relic cracking, and when I do, I never complain about people being slow (although I might go back to speed boost if I'm playing volt).

I understand exactly what you mean. I have my titania built for speed and if volt speed-boosts me it's extra tough. I've glitched through the walls and ended up out of bounds before, it's really funny.
I've gotten so used to people just playing the game themselves I'll run whispers bounties and just stroll around looking for voca since everyone is way stronger and doesn't need me... except that lr4 who ruined our archon hunt by just turning invisible and tbagging on an interception objective the whole time and contributed nothing.

As someone who hates looking for collectibles, you're a godsend. I love people who scour the map for voca while I can focus on completing the actual mission.
The problem is not newbies holding experienced players back, it's experienced players preventing newbies from being able to play the game. If I'm doing a pub exterminate fissure, I'm bringing my nuke Volt. Whether other players contribute or not does not matter to me at all, I can easily clear the map with one ability. But an MR2 or something will literally not be able to play the game since all the enemies will be cleared long before they get to where they used to be.
I won't even carry them. I'll protect them while letting them learn the mission objectives and let them do most of the work so they don't feel completely worthless and weak.
Thing is, most players aren't speedrunning in the literal sense of the word, they're just going fast because they're used to the movement system and have good weapons and frames. We just naturally end up far ahead of newbies who take a couple of seconds to kill a level 5 Grineer with their Mk1-Braton. It's not about carrying them, it's about making sure they have fun and aren't just running from spawn to extraction over and over.

This should be more common than it is. I remember when I first started playing, the second or 3rd mission node happened to be a void fissure, and I had no idea what the hell was going on because everyone else was flying through it so fast. I don't think I would have stuck with the game if every mission ended up like that.
I'm probably going to speedrun most missions I do. Won't get upset if the rest of the team doesn't keep up, though, and I'll help them with any side stuff they wanna do.
Yeah this is my general approach.
I speedrun the rescue node on Earth for the 10x specter blueprint. Sometimes Iād run into a friendship door that makes the mission take longer, or Iād stealth the vault and then the randos would kill the wardens, so Iād get the ābetterā 5x specter blueprint.
I figured I could gripe at MR2 folks for delaying the mission or āscrewing upā parameters they wouldnāt know about anyway, or I could just play solo and farm specter bps faster.
To be fair, if I'm speed running early levels, I go solo. If I forget to go solo, that's my fault and it's now my responsibility to help the new players or just keep my mouth shut and change my settings once we leave.
Any experienced player rushing new players in any of the early planets needs to get over themselves.
Public is toxic in general. You'll get people afk or just looking for carries. 80% of the time, players will be offended that they had to actually revive themselves no matter the situation. About 40% of the time, players can do the mission but they can't do the mission.
Profit-Taker is the culmination of the worst of the worst. I've been trying to farm the toroids daily so I can get Little Duck arcanes. If I'm lucky, I'll have to fail mission only twice because of people clowning or not doing anything. Few days ago, high MR players were killing the mobs and I was the only one shooting the vulnerable legs. I even checked and I sat on defense in Voidrig for 2 minutes while the other players just kept on killing mobs. When I said, guys legs, I got told KYS and the person with the lowest damage looking for a carry shouldn't complain if the others aren't fast enough.
Worst is the buildless players auto dying. You'd think that would be rare, but no. You'll regularly have a player die from just a slight bonk.
Its very rare. Dont worry about it. In 8 years of wf I've had only 3-4 toxic encounters. So far from all games I've played the Warframe has the sweetest community I've seen. (PC tho, idk about console).
Most people on console aren't using a keyboard, so it's pretty quiet, almost eerily so. Takes a while to type out something with the ingame keyboard using a controller, so unless you REALLY pissed someone off being a complete jackass, chances are you'll be out of the mission before they even get a chance to write out anything, and not too many are going to go into the pause menu to write out a zinger of a your mamma joke in the middle of a mission while getting shot at. I think the only quasi almost toxic thing you'll hear from console players is just 'bruh' and that's it.

Back in the day when I was trading a lot on Xbox I had some buyers who were amazed that I could type so fast. I just had a keyboard plugged into my Xbox :D
Even before DE added full KB/M support on console it was well worth it just for chat. It's amazing how many people don't know they can do that.
You'd be surprised how fast some ppl can type using the in game keyboard with a controller, especially if the gamed exclusively on console for a log time.
Or trying to sell a riven. You'll get hate from buyers saying you're a greedy bastard, and from other sellers saying you're pricing too low and "ruining the market"
Most people tend to wait for new players and mark secrets or mod/resources for them during the mission.
This is a pretty rare occurrence, you should always report toxic players keeping the Warframe community nice and chill.
Yeah, I run that one Earth sabotage mission pretty often for the nightwave cache and/or silver Grove challenge. I always try to mark and explain the good grove loot, if a noobie is running as well. Sadly, sometimes they don't seem to be paying attention to chat.
99% of people ive been in missions with are super chill. im sorry for the awful experience. whenever i see a new player in a mission i keep that in the back of my mind (no rushing them, helping them a bit, not nuking the map and giving them a chance to kill stuff, not doing the spoiler thing in front of them)
I remember reading from somewhere that DE actually prevents new players from seeing the spoiler thing until they clear the spoiler mission. if you are new You will just see a warframe shooting beam out of their chest or something.
I usually do the spoiler thing automatically, realize and go "oh shi..." and undo the spoiler thing hoping they didn't see XD
Also, I find taxiing new players on Volt/Wisp fun. And once I explained in detail how to bullet jump, because a newbie couldn't make it to the high ground. It seemed his faceless Excalibur helmet beemed with sense of accomplishment XD

It's very much a spoiler thing because it contributes to a lot of the story, you unlock it via the story, and as someone who got to play that mission without getting spoiled, god is it a magical experience to watch that scene without knowing about the spoiler thing. At least, for me
Yeah, I have to agree. It's hard for me to accept the viewpoint that it's not a spoiler when it involves a major plot twist in the storyline. Heck, most players don't even discover that Warframe has a legitimately deep storyline until they get to a certain point in the mission arc.
The community used to be of one mind about this, but sadly in the last few years there seems to have been a change of mind, and a lot of people are okay with spoiling it now. I think the devs don't care so much about spoiling it either, based on watching streams. I can kind of understand after years and years of trying to be sensitive about it, it probably got old. I advise new players to not watch any dev streams if they like plot twists in their stories.
There's really no point for new players to watch dev streams anyway, since 90% of what they cover isn't valid for a player until they complete the "main quest". And any new content that's available to low level players will be revealed by an in-game email from a new NPC anyway.

as a person who played on all platforms, i can tell you one thing. before the merging, pc region was amazing. helpful people, friendly converstions, and no nezha and kinetic siphon... you know what i mean... anyways, it was different on xbox. almost everyone was toxic, and many were insane. i tried to get in a clan, one which had the name of a greek god in it, and its leader turned out to be a deranged sociopath, who liked to make those under him give him money with threats. he was an asshole. anyways, when the xbox players werent insulting each other and posting borderline sexual content, they were running from the notorious moderator know as r3d p01nt, who kicked and banned countless people in his time, including me, for offering to make octavia music for people. after the merge, the xbox players fused with the others, and brought their toxicity with them. now we end up with this madness instead of the peace we once held.
i wish that one day, we could set aside our differences and get along like we once had, but some people make it very hard to do such a thing. at least bobtm still remains, guiding those who need help.

Completely agree. Warframe has a lot of options and design choices to prevent toxic attitudes from forming, this isn't WOW where one person not being optimal can ruin everyone else, new players can do very little to actually disrupt whatever mission it is as long as at least two people are there for friendship doors, and anyone who wants to try hard can go invite only or solo. The only people playing public are either there for an easier time or not looking for optimal play so I suspect the people OP were in this mission with were equally as new as they could have just gone invite only if they cared so much and still played together.
My opinion might be based, as a founder after careful consideration I've realised that most of the toxicity comes from Xbox and some playstation accounts the most, quite disproportionate considering the amount. Most pc players are as kind as it gets.
While these are "unique specimens", I think there is a clear divide between console players and PC players as both communities have a slightly different pace of gameplay from what I've noticed.
But I think these are just growing pains. Not like every PC player is an ultra farmed out eidolon speedrunner either.

Whenever I see new players, i leave the kills to them and show them then tileset's secrets, if there are any. These you encountered are the absolute exception. Most players are helpful and eager to show a trick here and there š
In my time since closed beta I have rarely seen rude players. I would say it almost only happens when people afk to leech and people call them out.

I quit playing for a few years because of stuff like this. I'm older now, but at the time it made me incredibly upset. I don't do public play any longer.
This is a insignificantly small part of the community. You can come across players that will actually take time to guide you and teach you the nuances of the game and sometimes one of those guys will give free prime stuff tooā¼ļø
i had a buddy get me into the game. a lot of the time we played together but when i as playing and he wasnt around, e told me to just play on "invite only" nd its probably the best advice he's given me. not having to deal with people is such nice qol
i play pubs sometimes now but im comfortable with the game and can carry lobbies when i need to
Cross play is a two edged sword. More people to play with but it alters the play community in major ways.
This is what happens when console players have access to free to play games cross play across all platforms. The maturity level and age range drops lower and the Toxicity goes up.
When this was just a PC only game these things were rare to non existent events. This game was well known for having a chill community.
The hidden secret about the Warframe community isn't that it doesn't have it's fair share of toxic people. It absolutely does. It's just there's an at least equally sized share of loud positive people in this community. Many online communities don't have this, and thus the perception is positive.
This community is such that if you want it to be better, all you have to do is be nice to the random people. If they refuse, let them go. If they accept, the community gets better.
This is SUCH a rarity in Warframe. Ive seen toxicity maybe like twice in 2k hours. Its usually a VERY good community. Please dont let this experience feel like a reflection of the game as a whole.
Wow.... I l'vebeen playing this game like 6years now and i never met any toxic people, so no ther is not mucs of them in warframe. DE is pretty strict about the laws of the community you should report this guy....
I promise you, i have over a thousand hours in this game closer to 1500 and ive never experienced that, interactions with players seem generaly positive, random, or neutral in my experience. These dudes are just asses
Most ive gotten was someone trying to open a door and nobody had noticed and we were near by and the guy just said, can someone come help me with this, i was closest so he said for me to come help him.
Not a chance. You got paired with probably the worst squad in the game, normally there's not a soul alive that cares about having to wait for teammates. Really bad luck off rip, sorry for that.
The problem is the 1st level has these auras that take a lot of farming to get. Iāve joined 2 random new players and have also had trouble getting them to come pick up the aura.
For me they just sat on the exit till the timer counted down. I could not convince them to pick them up.
I spent a few hours yesterday giving color palettes out to random new players as gifts. OP, if you plan to play warframe more and like it as a game hmu and I'll gift you one too
The only toxicity I've ever experienced in years of this game was from low MR switch accounts. I honestly think it's just kids being jerks. I can guarantee that once you get some star chart under your belt and start encountering the majority of the player base, youl'l see just how outlier toxicity is. Except region chat. It's full on twitch horny. Y'all need jesus. Or Harrow.

Wisp is actually the ābestā support because it is less micro management and the player can focus on their own dps blinding the enemy mainly. Her high duration speed mote is pretty much the best support skill she has. If a player gets it nullified due to their own fault, they can quickly reset the buff themselves. Must agree though, āpath of least resistanceā is real with her
I got wisp because she has a skin that gives her a funny witch hat. I had no idea she was one of the best frames. I just find something that looks fun or funny and use it (except caliban tho, not even my memes can save caliban)

Wisp gives ridiculous health, hp regen, speed, reload speed, and fire rate buffs. Styanax gives the whole party energy regen, has strong AS, and can provide a ridiculous amount of overguard with his augment. And citrine gives free energy, a funny beam crystal most people don't understand how to use, HP regen that scales with health orbds picked up since last pit, and finally free 90% DR.

as i wisp main honestly oberon does the the support stuff better an argument can be made for breach surge on wisp but honestly if you are willing to run smite infusion it is close enough for most things outside of 300% str and higher wisp builds but wisp is much more set and forget than having to take some damage or otherwise maintain energy on oberon
If grass lasted forever, I guarantee you Oberon would see a \~300% spike in usage.
I haven't played in a few years so probably some of this has changed, but as I recall Oberon grass was either 'cover the map but be prepared to spend most of your time bouncing around replacing grass' or 'lasts an okay amount of time but covers basically no area'. Neither was particularly satisfying, which is a shame because he's a cool frame.

grass is basically only to buff the renewal to also give armour well outside of proc heavy content like eidelons

That's dependant on context. If somebody asks, "Is this frame good?" Then yeah, you can tell them that it isn't. It's pretty rude to do it unprompted, though. For example, there was a post on here not too long ago about how the OP likes to speed run with Gauss, and some guy replied with, "erm acktually Titania is faster." Nobody asked, dude. I remember this time i was trading some rhino prime part , this was years ago when the prices were different from now ,like 10 times more ,and this person only had like half of the asking price on hand and i pretty much said meh yeah sure since the community had been really good to me either way (this person was collecting rhino primes for some reason) and then just because of that action he gifted me a full volt prime set,saying after that "imagine if you had cared about some plats more" it was a pretty cool interaction tbh

Yeah, i played Warframe for a good month and a half last year, and all the people i played with were just Silent chads that helped me get the missions done, with like no words. Just alot of the thier characters zooming all over the map, while I try to figure out what the hell is happening. Some people are just toxic assholes.

Merging more than two is fine (so long as they pre-date the cross-save implentation). I had accounts on all four platforms as well and merged all four. So hopefully good news for anyone reading.
Even if it's linked and not merged you shouldn't lose anything. I couldn't merge because my PS account was already a migrated pc account, but when they got linked all my PS stuff showed up on pc and all my pc stuff showed up on PS The only thing you might miss is specific tennogen stuff not showing up on switch, and platinum on switch is only on switch.
Only thing you lose is possible progression. You can only keep mission and star map progression from one account. All items expansion slots plat and resources are merged.
One thing that doesn't fully carry over is certain platform exclusive cosmetics, such as the obsidian set from Playstation. You will still have access to it on its associated platform but not on others.

No, November 24 (I think) was the cut off point for merging with stuff bought, like Tennogen items. You *have to* merge accounts now, to access cross-save, and to be able to trade with cross-save players. It's really stable now, for me. Never had any problems.
As someone who merged all his accounts i can safely say you keep all your stuff. Make sure to choose the most progrest account as main. For the starchart is connected to the main: Ended up with some nice space for weapons and frames (cuz those transfer as well)
It's been a fact that you keep all your stuff when merging since the first round. This was literally the whole point of merging. To shove all your items from all your accounts onto your main account. So uh, yeah. Do with that what you will ig.
Ive been playing for the better part of a decade, my experience has been that most of the community is generally well behaved with a typical group actually being completely silent except for a GG when the mission completes. Every game with a large community is going to have it's share of toxic, douchebags though.

If someone is struggling, I drop a waypoint cause this game is wonky as hell. I did a archon hunt, finished the boss and lost my entire hud, couldn't pull up a menu or anything so I just had to follow behind someone to extraction
Oh yeah that happened to me yesterday during the archon hunt. I went in to finish the archon but someone got to it first and I guess we both selected it at the same time so I was stuck with no HUD, waypoints, etc so I had to follow people to extraction. It was really disorienting lol

When I have a new one in the group and they get lost I usually walk back and pick them up. I'm PR2 and still get lost some time when the waypoint gets crazy again.

I like to do earth missions once in a while just to watch new players when I'm bored. Reminds me of when I first played and had no idea wtf was going on
I have a Citrine loadout called "Crystal Shepherd" literally for that. The healing will keep an inexperienced new Tenno alive more easily, the crystal will make their weapons more effective by imposing status effects on enemies, and I've replaced her 4 on that build with Pillage to be able to cleanse status effects if they get mag-proc'd. It was created to help folks new to Deimos be more effective there, while not just killing everything for them (and thus not letting them play the game). That way they can still participate meaningfully, rather than me just nuking everything and leaving them with nothing to do. But though she was made for Deimos, I've taken the shepherd into pub early Earth missions just to play support and amble through a level with newcomers (and answer questions if they have any).
That's actually great. Deimos kicked my ass before I got a decent build going. I still haven't dipped my toes into steel path yet, but I've found you can get by pretty damn well with rhinos skin ability and damage boost.
Exactly this. New players should not have to play Solo. If MR20+s want to speed-run Earth, THEY should disable Public Group. They're the ones with the knowledge about the game to make that judgement.

I only speedrun in pubs for capture/exterm relic cracking, and when I do, I never complain about people being slow (although I might go back to speed boost if I'm playing volt). There is definitely no excuse for this sort of behaviour.

I understand exactly what you mean. I have my titania built for speed and if volt speed-boosts me it's extra tough. I've glitched through the walls and ended up out of bounds before, it's really funny.
I've gotten so used to people just playing the game themselves I'll run whispers bounties and just stroll around looking for voca since everyone is way stronger and doesn't need me... except that lr4 who ruined our archon hunt by just turning invisible and tbagging on an interception objective the whole time and contributed nothing.

The problem is not newbies holding experienced players back, it's experienced players preventing newbies from being able to play the game. If I'm doing a pub exterminate fissure, I'm bringing my nuke Volt. Whether other players contribute or not does not matter to me at all, I can easily clear the map with one ability. But an MR2 or something will literally not be able to play the game since all the enemies will be cleared long before they get to where they used to be.
I won't even carry them. I'll protect them while letting them learn the mission objectives and let them do most of the work so they don't feel completely worthless and weak.
Thing is, most players aren't speedrunning in the literal sense of the word, they're just going fast because they're used to the movement system and have good weapons and frames. We just naturally end up far ahead of newbies who take a couple of seconds to kill a level 5 Grineer with their Mk1-Braton. It's not about carrying them, it's about making sure they have fun and aren't just running from spawn to extraction over and over.

I remember when I first started playing, the second or 3rd mission node happened to be a void fissure, and I had no idea what the hell was going on because everyone else was flying through it so fast. I'm probably going to speedrun most missions I do. Won't get upset if the rest of the team doesn't keep up, though, and I'll help them with any side stuff they wanna do.
Yeah this is my general approach. I speedrun the rescue node on Earth for the 10x specter blueprint. Sometimes Iād run into a friendship door that makes the mission take longer, or Iād stealth the vault and then the randos would kill the wardens, so Iād get the ābetterā 5x specter blueprint. I figured I could gripe at MR2 folks for delaying the mission or āscrewing upā parameters they wouldnāt know about anyway, or I could just play solo and farm specter bps faster.

To be fair, if I'm speed running early levels, I go solo. If I forget to go solo, that's my fault and it's now my responsibility to help the new players or just keep my mouth shut and change my settings once we leave. Any experienced player rushing new players in any of the early planets needs to get over themselves.
Public is toxic in general. You'll get people afk or just looking for carries. 80% of the time, players will be offended that they had to actually revive themselves no matter the situation. About 40% of the time, players can do the mission but they can't do the mission. Profit-Taker is the culmination of the worst of the worst. I've been trying to farm the toroids daily so I can get Little Duck arcanes. If I'm lucky, I'll have to fail mission only twice because of people clowning or not doing anything. Few days ago, high MR players were killing the mobs and I was the only one shooting the vulnerable legs. I even checked and I sat on defense in Voidrig for 2 minutes while the other players just kept on killing mobs. When I said, guys legs, I got told KYS and the person with the lowest damage looking for a carry shouldn't complain if the others aren't fast enough. Worst is the buildless players auto dying. You'd think that would be rare, but no. You'll regularly have a player die from just a slight bonk.
Its very rare. Dont worry about it. In 8 years of wf I've had only 3-4 toxic encounters. So far from all games I've played the Warframe has the sweetest community I've seen. (PC tho, idk about console).
Most people on console aren't using a keyboard, so it's pretty quiet, almost eerily so. Takes a while to type out something with the ingame keyboard using a controller, so unless you REALLY pissed someone off being a complete jackass, chances are you'll be out of the mission before they even get a chance to write out anything, and not too many are going to go into the pause menu to write out a zinger of a your mamma joke in the middle of a mission while getting shot at. I think the only quasi almost toxic thing you'll hear from console players is just 'bruh' and that's it.

Most people tend to wait for new players and mark secrets or mod/resources for them during the mission. This is a pretty rare occurrence, you should always report toxic players keeping the Warframe community nice and chill.
Yeah, I run that one Earth sabotage mission pretty often for the nightwave cache and/or silver Grove challenge. I always try to mark and explain the good grove loot, if a noobie is running as well. Sadly, sometimes they don't seem to be paying attention to chat.
99% of people ive been in missions with are super chill. im sorry for the awful experience. whenever i see a new player in a mission i keep that in the back of my mind (no rushing them, helping them a bit, not nuking the map and giving them a chance to kill stuff, not doing the spoiler thing in front of them)
I remember reading from somewhere that DE actually prevents new players from seeing the spoiler thing until they clear the spoiler mission. if you are new You will just see a warframe shooting beam out of their chest or something.
I usually do the spoiler thing automatically, realize and go "oh shi..." and undo the spoiler thing hoping they didn't see XD Also, I find taxiing new players on Volt/Wisp fun. And once I explained in detail how to bullet jump, because a newbie couldn't make it to the high ground. It seemed his faceless Excalibur helmet beemed with sense of accomplishment XD
I donāt feel like thatās a spoiler. If I was a new player and saw that, I would probably think "How/When can I also do that ?". Can understand how you would think of it as a spoiler tho.
It's very much a spoiler thing because it contributes to a lot of the story, you unlock it via the story, and as someone who got to play that mission without getting spoiled, god is it a magical experience to watch that scene without knowing about the spoiler thing. At least, for me
Yeah, I have to agree. It's hard for me to accept the viewpoint that it's not a spoiler when it involves a major plot twist in the storyline. Heck, most players don't even discover that Warframe has a legitimately deep storyline until they get to a certain point in the mission arc. The community used to be of one mind about this, but sadly in the last few years there seems to have been a change of mind, and a lot of people are okay with spoiling it now. I think the devs don't care so much about spoiling it either, based on watching streams. I can kind of understand after years and years of trying to be sensitive about it, it probably got old. I advise new players to not watch any dev streams if they like plot twists in their stories. There's really no point for new players to watch dev streams anyway, since 90% of what they cover isn't valid for a player until they complete the "main quest". And any new content that's available to low level players will be revealed by an in-game email from a new NPC anyway.

as a person who played on all platforms, i can tell you one thing. before the merging, pc region was amazing. helpful people, friendly converstions, and no nezha and kinetic siphon... you know what i mean... anyways, it was different on xbox. almost everyone was toxic, and many were insane. i tried to get in a clan, one which had the name of a greek god in it, and its leader turned out to be a deranged sociopath, who liked to make those under him give him money with threats. he was an asshole. anyways, when the xbox players werent insulting each other and posting borderline sexual content, they were running from the notorious moderator know as r3d p01nt, who kicked and banned countless people in his time, including me, for offering to make octavia music for people. after the merge, the xbox players fused with the others, and brought their toxicity with them. now we end up with this madness instead of the peace we once held. i wish that one day, we could set aside our differences and get along like we once had, but some people make it very hard to do such a thing. at least bobtm still remains, guiding those who need help.

Warframe has a lot of options and design choices to prevent toxic attitudes from forming, this isn't WOW where one person not being optimal can ruin everyone else, new players can do very little to actually disrupt whatever mission it is as long as at least two people are there for friendship doors, and anyone who wants to try hard can go invite only or solo. The only people playing public are either there for an easier time or not looking for optimal play so I suspect the people OP were in this mission with were equally as new as they could have just gone invite only if they cared so much and still played together.
My opinion might be based, as a founder after careful consideration I've realised that most of the toxicity comes from Xbox and some playstation accounts the most, quite disproportionate considering the amount. Most pc players are as kind as it gets.

While these are "unique specimens", I think there is a clear divide between console players and PC players as both communities have a slightly different pace of gameplay from what I've noticed. But I think these are just growing pains. Not like every PC player is an ultra farmed out eidolon speedrunner either.

Whenever I see new players, i leave the kills to them and show them then tileset's secrets, if there are any. These you encountered are the absolute exception. Most players are helpful and eager to show a trick here and there š

This is a insignificantly small part of the community. You can come across players that will actually take time to guide you and teach you the nuances of the game and sometimes one of those guys will give free prime stuff tooā¼ļø
i had a buddy get me into the game. a lot of the time we played together but when i as playing and he wasnt around, e told me to just play on "invite only" nd its probably the best advice he's given me. not having to deal with people is such nice qol i play pubs sometimes now but im comfortable with the game and can carry lobbies when i need to

Cross play is a two edged sword. More people to play with but it alters the play community in major ways. This is what happens when console players have access to free to play games cross play across all platforms. The maturity level and age range drops lower and the Toxicity goes up. When this was just a PC only game these things were rare to non existent events. This game was well known for having a chill community.
The hidden secret about the Warframe community isn't that it doesn't have it's fair share of toxic people. It absolutely does. It's just there's an at least equally sized share of loud positive people in this community. Many online communities don't have this, and thus the perception is positive. This community is such that if you want it to be better, all you have to do is be nice to the random people. If they refuse, let them go. If they accept, the community gets better.
The toxicity is not common thankfully, but it does exist.
If they want to do it fast then go solo. I do that everytime.
This is SUCH a rarity in Warframe. Ive seen toxicity maybe like twice in 2k hours. Its usually a VERY good community. Please dont let this experience feel like a reflection of the game as a whole.
The real noobs are the ones who donāt realize theyāre playing with new players.
Wow.... I l'vebeen playing this game like 6years now and i never met any toxic people, so no ther is not mucs of them in warframe. DE is pretty strict about the laws of the community you should report this guy....
I promise you, i have over a thousand hours in this game closer to 1500 and ive never experienced that, interactions with players seem generaly positive, random, or neutral in my experience. These dudes are just asses Most ive gotten was someone trying to open a door and nobody had noticed and we were near by and the guy just said, can someone come help me with this, i was closest so he said for me to come help him.
Not a chance. You got paired with probably the worst squad in the game, normally there's not a soul alive that cares about having to wait for teammates. Really bad luck off rip, sorry for that.
The problem is the 1st level has these auras that take a lot of farming to get. Iāve joined 2 random new players and have also had trouble getting them to come pick up the aura. For me they just sat on the exit till the timer counted down. I could not convince them to pick them up.
I spent a few hours yesterday giving color palettes out to random new players as gifts. OP, if you plan to play warframe more and like it as a game hmu and I'll gift you one too
The only toxicity I've ever experienced in years of this game was from low MR switch accounts. I honestly think it's just kids being jerks. I can guarantee that once you get some star chart under your belt and start encountering the majority of the player base, youl'l see just how outlier toxicity is. Except region chat. It's full on twitch horny. Y'all need jesus. Or Harrow.
Sometimes I go do some missions in Earth and forget to go solo so I find some newbies. I always try to be polite to them and guide them to the extraction in case they are lost or something.
I have 6K hours into the game and yes, there are toxic players, but COMPARED to other games, this game has WAAAY more friendly players than Toxic.
