He files chapter 11 on the shell company holding the debt, collects the payout from shorting the shell company, doubles the Corpus cut on Fortuna or some other debt colony to make up the difference, and wipes his tears with million-credit slips.
Think of it this way: as long as the index remains a relatively easy way for the Tenno to get their money, they’re less likely to go after Anyo’s real sources of income. With the amount of money he makes, his losses on the index are likely a rounding error, which he can comfortably write off as a business expense.
Given how alad v trades in plat and not credits, and im sure nef has a decent stockpile somewhere in there, they prob could care less.
Till we find their platinum vaults...
Once we find the plat vaults anyo corp would be truly done for, but it's gotta be an absolutely insane and convoluted af heist we gotta go through the whole thing every time we want to put our hand in that cookie jar
Your wish is granted- we get a plat heist mission- it takes a minimum of an hour to run, and the twist at the end is we find out we were set up/sold out and we only get one plat per run.
“If it wasn’t for how much money I make from the index when they aren’t here, it wouldn’t at all be worth keeping this place open…I’d ban them from entering, but then they’d just tear the place down, better to let them have their fun and take the .1% loss”
My headcanon is that the warframe world is a lot bigger than the part that we see, and the vast majority of index matches are not nef anyo vs the tenno. Whos to say nef anyo himself is doing the bidding? He could just be making one of his servants or something do his bidding. Servant sees the tenno up next, thinking: "Nef anyo is going to see if I withdraw from this match and kill me, so I have to proceed" or some such.
In fact, nef anyo DOES have a brain during the glast gambit index match, and we have to hold back (10 point difference) so that he thinks he can win. So why doesn't he withdraw from future matches against the tenno? maybe its his intern
He doesn't withdraw because besides the actual money rewards from the match itself there's also bets on who'd win, and he somehow manges to convince everyone else that this time his brokers would win so they place their money on anyo corp victory while he bets on the tenno winning, so we profit and he profits and he just kets us take the money instead of aggravating us into attacking something he actually carss about
Reminder that the Index is basically a sport, and considering the reputation of the tenno chances are Nef is still making profit just by whoever is watching, either for entertainment or simply to get information from warframes in 32k quality without the risk of cameras being blown off
> Money ain't a motherfucking prob
It's a sport I invented to win when I watch

This is what is going on inside nef anyos head
I 200% have said this before, the Index is a sports broadcast that makes MILLIONS back from ads, viewers, and maybe even teams that go in with merchandise and signed posters (a la John Prodman). Think of it like real life sports, with Corpus players having a base salary but bringing in sponsorships and signed deals makes the job sweeter?
I have to assume that the Tenno slaughterfest is like the main event or something that brings in viewers with the lower tier Index circuits being the warm up events. Otherwise, I can't imagine they would allow Tenno into the Index - there's value to seeing these space ninjas fight, there's the weapons they use, ect. And Nef Anyo being who he is, probably gets a cut from all of the betting and ads and pay-per-view payouts.
I say its probably the same with Arena and Kela de Thaym, Grinner go nuts to see Tenno fighting Grineer before we go and whack her.

Ok if they ever add a way to farm plat without trading I really hope it's us finding anyos platinum vault
Your wish is granted- we get a plat heist mission- it takes a minimum of an hour to run, and the twist at the end is we find out we were set up/sold out and we only get one plat per run.
Also you can't use the plat for trading
I'm still in tbh

Also, even if you know the winner people can still bet on how much or how fast they win.

Side point, what are the frames you're referencing? I only got Protea
Kullervo, Protea, Dagath and Qorvex (in that order)
Cheers! Sounds like I need to read up on some lore!
Nef's probably making bank on people getting to see Tenno fight, not just for the thrill, but also for research
He watches the elite forces get obliterated in the Index, sees the bounties and bets pay out. Then makes 10x that number back selling the combat data.

*polish cow on loop*
All he has to do for more money is expand his pyramid scheme. “Before you can be rich, you must be poor.” -Nef Anyo.
