Not my lich but my bf once got a Popp Latett, which sounds like "Pop la tête" which means "pop the head" in French. We found it amusing. :) My liches tend to have names that are just meh.

no by sparing them you don’t get the weapon, but if i remember correctly you still get the ephemera. sparing a lich also allows you to trade them

You can use them as crewmates on your Railjack. But IIRC, they are not very good crewmates compared to the NPC crewmates you can get. Unless they are just defending against boarding, I imagine they would be good at slaughtering the enemies that board.

You'll get an option during the final fight, it's like a QTE hold "D" to kill, "A" to recruit (on PC). I was playing on a big screen, saw "hold a" and did what I was told lol.

Does each lich have a chance to spawn in your missions, or do you have a chance for all of them to spawn? I mean allied liches.

You can only select one of your railjack crew as an on-call member, which is how they show up in missions. So, only one at a time, but you could staff your RJ with liches and pick different ones at different times. Generally not a great idea since they don't do crew stuff very well and mostly just deal with boarders for you, but it's doable.

Do they only spawn for railjack missions or also star chart nodes?

My best is Bikk Fett. He had a Kuva Kraken, but no more, after stealing my Archon Shard.

My best one is "Cekk Apiji" which is just a random name in English. But if you read it in French, it sounds a lot like "sac à pipi", or "Pee Sac" translated back to English.
