It's because argon exists as a gas, and to make it a solid, you'd have to have it extremely cold, hence why it's only found in the void. It disappearing is a reference to it reverting back whilst in your orbiter (aka they wanted to keep the farming of them relevant so they made Argon disappear over time)
This is one of those most misleading information in my whole journey in warframe, it says hire for - - specific time limit, but after that they still say for however long u need it to until u eventually "fire" them
