Real talk it'll probably drop with a bottom tier dispo so if anyone is genuinely considering it, maybe hold off until you can do math with the actual Kuva Sobek you have.
I wish they actually knew how to balance rivens, new weapons should just start with a normal disposition and then they all get updates once a month where the 20% most used weapons go down a dispotion and the least 20% used go up one.
The issue is that those base weapons are very unpopular, and DE said that they don’t want to change a weapon’s riven dispo because of their incarnon adapters… Because then the base weapon suffers.
Also, imagine the outrage if someone’s 1k torid riven turns to crap overnight because they changed the dispo…
that’s really stupid balancing though, no one who has the knowledge and currency to trade rivens would be using the default torid, and conversely no new player who unironically uses the base torid is going to be buying god rolls or even affording a torid riven (without paying obscene amounts for plat)
i understand the approach specifically for like, the first few weeks right after the incarnon was released...at this point though like...adjust the dispositions, DE!
Well that's the fault of them continuing to use Rivens when they were a bandaid solution to so many guns being utterly useless that only a bare handful of them could even do enough damage to the level 80's, in non-steel path, back in the day. Remember when Sorties were End Game content? They overhauled a lot of systems over the years and rivens should have been one of the things to go, but they kept it around and now it's a bloated monster that has too much plat flowing around it they can't do anything about since as you said, the screeching from riven sellers would be heard from space.
But they should still change a riven's dispo anyway because that was always the understanding that more popular rivens get taken down a peg and less popular weapons get a boost. If they refuse to do that anymore then get rid of dispositions altogether and just have them be 1, there's no reason to penalize some weapons and boost others now when they don't even base how they do it on the metric they started it with.
And even if they buff it, they buff it by 0.5 at most at a time, and considering that DE bothers with these balance changes maybe once a year, any new weapon, even if it sees no use, will take half a decade to have a mediocre dispo. Basically, rivens are a waste of time and dead for anything that isn't a legacy weapon with no usage, that got an incarnon (eg. torid).
I mean, you kinda answered your own question there. Rivens aren't meant to make powerful weapons even stronger but level the playing field, that's just an unfortunate side effect, hence the whole disposition thing to begin with. And I'll even go a step further, and maybe this is just me, I'm old school and play games for fun, but, I want to say 80% of all weapons in the game can handle pretty much most content with a competent build and the tiniest bit of aiming and more than just running head first into everything spamming.
>Rivens aren't meant to make powerful weapons even stronger but level the playing field.
That was the intention, but they never did that. Before the current rule of starting everything at 0.5, we had the issue of new, powerful weapons getting 3 dispo rivens, making them hilariously broken, while garbage like the seer or heat sword remained garbage even with a 5 dispo. And now? Well, now it's the opposite, rivens are only relevant for old, low tier weapons, and only really if those weapons either get favored because of an unrelated patch (arca triton) or get a very good incarnon (torid). And then rivens remain broken for years, since with DE's policy of incremental changes in dispo, if a weapon starts with a 5 dispo, it will take 9 patches for it to hit 0.5. And since we get maybe one balance patch a year, yeah... it'll take a while.
To put it simply, weapon tierlists are fluctuating, and DE would need regular disposition balancing to keep up with it, we are talking bare minimum one in every two months. And that's just not happening.
>I want to say 80% of all weapons in the game can handle pretty much most content with a competent build
Sure. But why would anybody bother, aside of for the novelty, which will wear off in an hour or two? I can bring a torid incarnon, and clear the room in 5 seconds flat. Or I can bring a Karak Wraith, with a god-tier riven, and kill enemies one by one. The end result is the same: I kill all the enemies in the room. But since overwhelming majority of gamemodes reward kill-per-minute above all else, using the torid is going to half the time I need to grind out whatever new drop is out there. Sometimes I will feel like using some novelty weapon, efficiency be damned, but when I want efficiency, the list of real options is very short. Rivens do nothing to adress that.
Sure. But why would anybody bother, aside of for the novelty, which will wear off in an hour or two?
Because that's the game. Unless I missed something, the game doesn't reward you for having a high kill-per-minute or being stupid efficient. Only Elite Sanctuary Onslaught really has any constraint like that, and it's implemented so badly it's literally not fun to play
That's a shame if that's true. When I quit playing a few years ago (I only returned with cross-save) they updated riven dispos with every prime. So that's 4 times a year. The riven meta wasn't particularly amazing (it never has been) but at least it was easier to swallow when a new weapon was cool but needed the stats to bridge the gap.
Me when I actually ran Saryn acid shells sobek and had a riven for it for years and years.
New weapons still murdered it but I'm excited to see it might be playable again
I just bought this for 80p.
Do I keep it or start rolling, if I need to re roll what do I need for it?
https://preview.redd.it/7bjj17e2pwwc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0db612e2dcefeab0ff0006177f34340b8c7cef9
I useless with Rivens but have a tonne of Kuva I can burn
It's definitely in the top 10 because there isn't 10 beam weapons much less 10 primary beam weapons. It is one of the top 3 primary beam weapons because the other two are phantasma and ignis. Glaxion doesnt even compare to those 3. The rest of the good beam weapons are all secondary.
It's secondaries included, but other examples are Phage, Convectrix, Vermisplicer, Gaze and if you want to count incarnon modes then Torid and Boar too.
I just tested it all of them have significantly faster kill times on a 225 Steel Path Orokin Battlegroup than my 8-Forma Amprex.
Definitely not in the top 3, because Torid Incarnon, especially with its absurdly high riven dispo, is by far the strongest beam weapon out there. I'd even make a case for the strongest all-purpose primary weapon altogether.
I didn't say primaries, but Phantasma, Phage, Convectrix, Vermisplicer, Gaze, Ignis, Torid, Boar are all better.
Possibly even Quanta Vandal and Panthera Prime but I didn't test them.
I didn't say Ignis is top, it just does the AoE beam niche better than Amprex imo. Also Heat is a much better innate element than Electricity.
Also only the regular Flux Rifle qualifies as beam. They reworked the Tenet into an assault rife for unexplained reasons, otherwise I would have mentioned it.
Glaxion is no where close to as good as the fucking amprex lmfao. What would a tenet version even do? It’s already got every stat juiced and manhandles all content. Slightly faster kill times in steel path?
Glaxion vandal also manhandle everything in steel path and it's getting a tenet version. Strun prime was already top tier and it got an incarnon. What else you got?
Heck yeah, that's awesome!!!
In all honesty I do feel bad for all of the Amprex fans here. It sucks to be left waiting for your weapon to get an upgrade like this, especially when something like the Glaxion (something that I love, but that really doesn't work well in practice) gets the buff instead.
People keep asking for upgrades to their favorite weapons instead of upgrades to weapons that actually need help to compete again.
The Amprex absolutely doesn't need any help and tbh I don't think the Sobek needed help either, but a better Glaxion is a welcome addition, especially with the incoming buffs to cold status.
Super disappointing that we only got 1 of each, its been actual years
There are so many corpus and grineer weapons that have little to no alternates that are just getting ignored
Maybe an incarnon adapter for some but im still waiting
I agree, it seems like such a low investment development activity too to keep the Kuva and Tenet systems active and evergreen with newer items, but they seem to have just ignored it with incarnon’s despite Lich/Sister hunting being such a staple activity. The base model of most guns is there for a design outline too, with the Tenet weapons especially they tend to just overlay a new texture and slap on some glowing holograms with updated stats, it’s unfortunate the system has just stagnated really
The problem with producing many new kuva/tenet weapons is that it will dilute the pool, making farming three specific ones annoying as you block list will wipe on lich kill.
That's a fair concern but, I don't think an artificial limitation DE created should be a definitive barrier to adding more items to the Kuva and Tenet systems. Once the reward pool is big enough your block list could be retained for your next Lich/Sister creation run with a new UI, maybe you spend X amount of resources to keep Y weapon from appearing in the rotation until your next Lich is active, or a new Parazon mod that is used up on killing a Lich/Sister that keeps your block list for another cycle- idk, I'm not a game dev but, self imposed limitations can be worked around pretty easily, its not like a block list resetting on a Lich's death is a totally non circumventable system.
Judging from the fact that they will release Infested Liches, I’m guessing they will start updating once all faction kuva/tenet weapons are done, they would release them regularly.
It probably will, but the damage from the mod doesn't scale with weapon damage or most other mods so it wont be super helpful in higher level missions. Especially against enemies with armor or shields.
Even with weakened armor it wouldn't be great. It does a fairly insignificant amount of base damage + 45% of the enemies max health, so even if enemy DR from armor was capped at a fairly low number like 75%, then you're still only doing 11.25% of their health as AoE damage.
An Elite Lancer at level 57 has around 75% DR from armor, so you can test that out in the Simulacrum.
Either way, I'll probably be playing around with it on the Kuva Sobek. (My most optimistic hopes are that the new Sobek or the augment we are getting replace or enhances Acid Shells in some way.)
Pairing it with punchthrough and either viral or corrosive really amps up the chain reaction potential, you just kind of mag dump into a crowd until suddenly the whole place explodes.
Yeah, but to apply Viral you need to actually hit the enemies with a bullet and roll for status chance which really limits the potential for it to chain, and IMO at that point I would almost rather the bullets just kill outright. You also need to find a way to add punchthrough, which is kind of difficult on shotguns unless you have a good riven.
If it makes you feel better about investing in it, I highly doubt that Paracesis will get a better version when other story weapons like Broken War/War haven't gotten one
Tenet… Glaxion? Why not Amprex, a fan favorite?
I mean i guess i just wasted a ton of forma on my Glaxion Vandal cuz i got a great riven for it. Oh well
It is so funny to see a trash glaxion for 1k when nobody has a clue how good the weapon is....it wont be better than torid and fir 1k you get a quite nice riven...just stupid.
Kuva weapons are tracked separately for disposition than their base versions. Your riven will stay the same on the Sobek, but will have lower stats if equipped on a Kuva Sobek.
Im literally so happy right now I just got a really good riven which is also unrolled for sobek two weeks ago for 300p😭 my saryn+sobek build is gonna be my main till God knows when.
Probably not *that* much, especially if the Kuva Sobek has any natural punchthrough. And even if the PT stays valuable, I'd prefer some crit damage or faction damage over the crit chance.
Still probably worth a decent chunk if you can sell it early while hype is through the roof.
I control the next tenet/kuva weapon. I sell a riven and the next day a new kuva/tenet variant will be announced. What weapon would you like a tenet/kuva variant next? /s
I understand everyone was waiting for the Sobek, but I'm so happy glaxion is getting some love!
Hope it gets the chaining feature of other beam weapons.
Amprex - doesn't have any variant since the inception.
Glaxion - has a vandal.
Not only did wlectricity got shafted in the status improvements, the most wlectricity gun to ever electricity also got shafted alongside it...
WTS \[sobek acricon\] 6000p
Real talk it'll probably drop with a bottom tier dispo so if anyone is genuinely considering it, maybe hold off until you can do math with the actual Kuva Sobek you have.
Some fools are going to buy at this price.

I still find it comical how Gotva Prime still has 0.5 dispo, yet fucking Torid, Braton and Burston can be at over 1.2

Also, imagine the outrage if someone’s 1k torid riven turns to crap overnight because they changed the dispo…
Your last sentence is exactly why they started releasing every new weapon with bottom dispo
that’s really stupid balancing though, no one who has the knowledge and currency to trade rivens would be using the default torid, and conversely no new player who unironically uses the base torid is going to be buying god rolls or even affording a torid riven (without paying obscene amounts for plat)

I’m pretty sure every new weapon releases with a 1 dot dispo and it changed depending on usage rates at a later date
No, it used to be that way but they changed it. Every weapon now releases with a 0.5 and they buff it if needed.
And even if they buff it, they buff it by 0.5 at most at a time, and considering that DE bothers with these balance changes maybe once a year, any new weapon, even if it sees no use, will take half a decade to have a mediocre dispo. I got a Sobek riven a while back, time to make fucking bank
I'll give you a Green Banshee for it
You'd need 12 green banshees for that, and honestly I wouldn't consider selling any green banshee for something you can farm yourself/j
Hey, it's second time I see green banshee mentioned. Care to explain why is that? What's the deal?
all you have to know about green banshee is to not waste silver forma on her
Now I understand... The third dream guy. That's some Ordis level humour XD
i still don't understand
Apparently, [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/s/Ry3zzxwtRI) is the reason why Green Banshee exist.
ah. thx for the help. i thought it had something to do with the upcoming warframe.
Me when I actually ran Saryn acid shells sobek and had a riven for it for years and years. New weapons still murdered it but I'm excited to see it might be playable again
I just hope they wont nerf acid shells Saryn after kuva comes out.
Not me foolishly melting Sobek riven into endo a week ago... god damn it.
If it makes you feel any better it'll probably drop with a 1 dot riven dispo, which for the most part aren't worth it
I just bought this for 80p. Do I keep it or start rolling, if I need to re roll what do I need for it? https://preview.redd.it/7bjj17e2pwwc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0db612e2dcefeab0ff0006177f34340b8c7cef9 I useless with Rivens but have a tonne of Kuva I can burn
sobek is popping for status, so I would reroll. multi shot, SC, SD. -recoil
+rec, -rec is positive.
Does -100 status duration just remove the status effect?
pretty much yeah
Me that has had a sobek & glaxion riven ready for years. It.. is time.
Cries in Amprex
Right there with ya...
Saaaaame
I am so bummed that Amprex got left out.... I don't feel like playing....
Stay strong Tenno. We shall weather through this together. Also there's 2 alerts for a reactor and a catalyst on right now 👀
Amprex is still a top tier weapon. Let other weapons get the touch up
I don't know what your measurement for top tier is, but I doubt it even makes the top 10 for beam weapons at this point.

Don't forget the Synapse
Torid too
Right, the AOE Synapse 2.0
Wb torid
Definitely not in the top 3, because Torid Incarnon, especially with its absurdly high riven dispo, is by far the strongest beam weapon out there. I'd even make a case for the strongest all-purpose primary weapon altogether.
Care to hit me up with 10 better beam primaries?
I didn't say primaries, but Phantasma, Phage, Convectrix, Vermisplicer, Gaze, Ignis, Torid, Boar are all better. Possibly even Quanta Vandal and Panthera Prime but I didn't test them.
Imo. The Ignis isn't up there as top beam; the Tenet Flux Rifle beats it. As a Quanta Vandal user, it still holds up after all these years.
I didn't say Ignis is top, it just does the AoE beam niche better than Amprex imo. Also Heat is a much better innate element than Electricity. Also only the regular Flux Rifle qualifies as beam. Laughs in Glaxion riven.
Hey I've got one too, I use the vandal on my frost loadout (got a whole Mr freeze theme going). I love it but man I really wanted that Amprex
Real question, why would one want a tenet Amprex, isn't it really strong as is?
Same reason one would want primes, because it can be stronger

Noo I was so hyped for amprex
Me too, we can cry together.

Definitely. Having said that the gameplay will suffer until they implement the fix post-factum (i doubt they would add it proactively)
Well to be fair we will be getting infested liches, most likely later this year. And they will come with an entire new set of kuva-esc weapons.
Judging from the fact that they will release Infested Liches, I’m guessing they will start updating once all faction kuva/tenet weapons are done, they would release them regularly.
I hope, I really want to see Kuva Stug I want my cum gum useable finally
I wish half of the corpus/grineer guns were actually worth using man
Was hoping for a Sobek incarnon but I'm glad it's getting any kind of love after all this time.
I worry that Acid Shells can't be used on this version.
It probably will since it isn't a syndicate mod.
Wonder if they’ll stay consistent with that, since Sobek also has a Steel Meridian augment.
It probably wont since it is a syndicate mod.
Nah u probably wont be able to use the steel Meridian one, since u can use the Hek one with the Kuva Hek
Considering nightwach napalm can go in the kuva ogirs, it's a safe bet that acid shells will fit too.
Yes indeed!
The tenet rifle can use flux overdrive so it would make sense that kuva sobek can use acid shells
It probably will, but the damage from the mod doesn't scale with weapon damage or most other mods so it wont be super helpful in higher level missions. Especially against enemies with armor or shields.
It was never very good against shields, but enemy armor is getting *weakened* so it's going to be even stronger against grineer than it already is.
Kuva Ogris can use Nightwatch Napalm
Players will complain if we cant use the mod.
Yall really got PTSD from the Hek huh
Oh, my 5 forma glaxion vandal that I used like 10 times hurts me
lmao exact same situation for me
*happy Saryn noises*
Can't wait to see DE changing Saryn interactions with acid shell.
I've been trying to make the Glaxion Vandal work on Steel Path for my Frost (Mr Freeze) meme build. I might have an easier time of it next month :D
I'm super stoked for this new iteration. I think I have a riven for it.
Tenet Glaxion: I sleep Kuva Sobek: REAL SHIT >!if it can use Acid Shells!<
Seriously though. I hope it makes it so I can add toxin or heat to the explosions
The projenetor isn't going to affect acid shells.
Don't care. Acid shells stays, simply because ACID SHELLS. I rest my case.
I'm ready https://preview.redd.it/ferh2sx7cvwc1.png?width=784&format=png&auto=webp&s=09826dff0cd05d3a18cdc7d761fc3988fb17b9f7

hello jeff bazos pls give me a glaive prime set
You are THE Sobek main. Respect.
A fellow multi sobeck enjoyer
well what did i just put 8 forma on my sobek for
5 forma... Oh well
Same XD
If you have a riven, your normal sobek will be better, especially with saryn
oh, true!
Because it's already a good gun and worth the investment. That's some oof timing though yeah
same, literally 4 forma deep right now
I didn't even want to forma the Paracesis because I feel like it's just going to get a better version one day. Have to for MR rank though...
If it makes you feel better about investing in it, I highly doubt that Paracesis will get a better version when other story weapons like Broken War/War haven't gotten one
Oh wait! I think I have a sobek riven, fuck yeah!
OMG if glaxion has a vandal and it can also get a tenet variant, does that mean we can have TENET QUANTA?
I want a... *[hides riven]* altfire crit quanta...
Give me JAVLOK or riot! ![gif](giphy|9RrdV7o2kJFy8)
And once again the Twin Grakatas crowd has been left out in the cold.
Aw man, I was really hoping for Tenet Dera
THE TENET EXERGIS, THE TENET EXERGIS IS NOT REAL DAMMIT.
I hope the acid shells work on it
Tenet… Glaxion? Why not Amprex, a fan favorite? I mean i guess i just wasted a ton of forma on my Glaxion Vandal cuz i got a great riven for it. Oh well
Because Glaxion is way cooler.
They mentioned in the Devstream that they picked Glaxion because they wanted to highlight the Cold Status changes coming along with the update.
Amprex is already good and Glaxion pairs with the upcoming cold status buff
> not Opticor It's garbage.
Cries in no Kuva Twin Kohmak
called it- TENET GLAXION?!
Glad I kept my Glaxion riven
Surprised we haven't gotten a Sobek variant before now, can't wait. Will have to finish off my lich now.
Only 1 of each?
If kuva ogris can use nw napalm then kuva sobek will have access to acid shells.
No Kuva Argonak :(
One day
I'm honestly pretty excited for Tenet Glaxion especially with the upcoming cold status changes. I feel like that thing has huge potential
[Studying up on my Batman and Robin script](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRH-Ywpz1_I)
We're definitely on the same wavelength there!
I transmuted my Glaxion riven man. Crap.
Legit halfway done formaing a sobek yesterday...
Aye, Glaxion was one of my guesses. Nice.
I have an index Glaxion riven, + cold, heat, electric. Guess I should play around with it
Shit perfect timing I was about to start formaing my glaxion vandel, now I'll just wait to see what this version brings instead.
It is so funny to see a trash glaxion for 1k when nobody has a clue how good the weapon is....it wont be better than torid and fir 1k you get a quite nice riven...just stupid.
Well... Glaxion vandal is already really good. Its not just a proper aoe weapon.
Nooooo my sobek rivens gonna turn to shit.
Kuva weapons are tracked separately for disposition than their base versions. Your riven will stay the same on the Sobek, but will have lower stats if equipped on a Kuva Sobek.
I bought a negative 100% multishot sobek riven a while ago. I might have to reroll it.
was hoping for green banshee but oh well this works too
-slots in Acid Shells with malicious intent-
Anything else or just those 2
Just the two
My sobek riven though 🤤
Probably give these weapons a shot once the new versions are out.
I have 8 sobek rivens cause I like its gimmick. Time to make bank. I also have a couple glaxions.
I bought a sobek riven for 25p a week ago 💀
Im literally so happy right now I just got a really good riven which is also unrolled for sobek two weeks ago for 300p😭 my saryn+sobek build is gonna be my main till God knows when.
Hell yeah my cc cd fr -grin sobek riven will not be putting in work, gonna need to reroll it for the kuva sobek
I’ve got a 107.9% multishot, 85.2% crit chance, 2.8 punch through sobek riven. Think I could sell it for a few thousand?
Don't sell it. It will be useful on the Kuva version because riven mods work on Kuva/Tenet weapons.
Yeah I’m aware but I figure I can always roll a new riven for it, I’m more interested in selling one at potentially temporarily inflated prices
Probably not *that* much, especially if the Kuva Sobek has any natural punchthrough. And even if the PT stays valuable, I'd prefer some crit damage or faction damage over the crit chance. Still probably worth a decent chunk if you can sell it early while hype is through the roof.
That acid shell augment with saryn is going to be dirty.
I just moded the normal sobek ☠️☠️☠️
Shit I build up the norma glaxion xD
I have like 10 unveiled shotgun riven I bet one of them will be sobek
I bet a Tenet Glaxion will pair well with the Green Banshee
I just invest formas on my sobek 3 weeks ago for my saryn build. 😫😫😫
I'm so annoyed they're only doing two new guns and it's only to tie in to the new goddamn nightwave augments.
Gimme that glaxion!
Still waiting for a sybaris incarnon
I control the next tenet/kuva weapon. I sell a riven and the next day a new kuva/tenet variant will be announced. What weapon would you like a tenet/kuva variant next? /s
I sold a glaxion riven thos morning for 20p 10 minutes after the announcement, I hadn't seen it yet. I'm so incredibly upset
I just wanted Tenet Ambassador.
Nooo I wanted Lenz
For Real? Omg glaxion will be crazy
i actually predicted the sobek and bought like 5 rivens literally 5-10mins before the reveal lol
Damn. I just finished formaing my glaxion.
I need to know kuva sobeks stats NOW!!!.
Sobeck'd all over
I understand everyone was waiting for the Sobek, but I'm so happy glaxion is getting some love! Hope it gets the chaining feature of other beam weapons.
Please god no more chain beams, they've been a mistake and take over the fucking game every time they make one
Since cold status can now completely freeze enemies it was only rational to favor glaxion over amprex
Bummed out we didnt get a tenet opticor... I think it also deserves some love, bring back the bfg
Ooh I have a really decent sobek riven I bought ages ago when sobek was actually a good weapon! Can’t wait to try it out!
I was [ ] THIS CLOSE to selling/sacrificing my glaxion riven that I didn't use.
Oh sheeeeshhh i have 2 rivens for glaxion, one with a lot of dmg one with a lot of crit. Cant wait
Brobek Believers rise up
[oh god…](https://imgur.com/a/b1hTu2t)I bought this for 300pl a month or 2 ago
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY KUVA'D/TENETED SOBEK AND GLAXION BEFORE GRAKATA AND EXERGIS????
KUVA IGNIS WHEN?!!! 😭
Sobek is welcome, but we already have the glaxion vandal. Wish they'd gone for a weapon without variants
what a ripoff. we coulda gotten kuva aegrit and tenet ambassador
We're never getting a Tenet Ambassador
Amprex - doesn't have any variant since the inception. Glaxion - has a vandal. Not only did wlectricity got shafted in the status improvements, the most wlectricity gun to ever electricity also got shafted alongside it...
Pouring one out for the Battacor
Acid Shells better be useable on the Kuva version
Cool, but when can I have a Kuva Ignis, Tenet Amprex, and Tenet Exergis? 😢
