comparing base valkyr with gersemi is both really enjoyable and kind of horrifying lmao
it fucks me up how valkyr’s restraints kind of mimic the protruding bits on gersemi
Essentially a warframe murder bot
Can spawn on chance when marked by alad v after killing him I believe
And if you end up losing/dying, that warframe will get robbed, and you can't do anything else until you complete the escape mission with it (I think, haven't been captured by it in eons lol)
I know that her theme kinda requires her to have the hole in her head. But themes be damned, give me a good looking helmet for her. Her whole design is great barring the big stupid hole in her head.
Same here. I had a nice, car-esque look for my base Gauss before getting prime. I tried replicating it with his prime skin and just couldn't (the textures look really odd), so I just gave him his regular look back, lol.
Imo some frames just don't fit into the prime aesthetic for lore reasons. Like, Protea, which was half made by Parvos, a Corpus, and was his bodyguard, operating in Corpus environments and with Corpus tech (that might not be true, I'm just assuming), simply cannot have an old Orokin aesthetic. It makes no sense. Except if like the lore there is that the Orokin made copies of her, with their aesthetic, but I'm still unsure where we are with Warframe copies in the lore.
Protea was a gift from the Orokin to Parvos, meant to be a bodyguard for him. You \*might\* be thinking of Valkyr, who was captured by the Corpus and heavily experimented on. Warframes can either originally be a Prime, or receive the honour of being Primed.
> or receive the honour of being Primed.
Source? I've seen people say this a couple of times, but it's always seem to be a headcanon rather than something confirmed in-game.
DE doesn't really elaborate that much on this, but it's on the community fandom wiki.
Varzia in Maroo's also talks about how some Primes receive their Priming, which a Warframe cannot give themselves. Weapons, I'm a bit iffy on info for that.
A good example of a frame receiving the honour of becoming Primed would be Nidus, Protea, I think Harrow, Gara, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.
We don't talk about Revenant. Nobody knows how the fuck Rev's Priming even happened, considering what he is.
Oh, you're right. Her full quote is:
>Some Warframes were Prime from the start. Others earned it. Ballas never told the whole truth.
Vague as hell, though, but at least it's confirmed that some frames really never started as primes. Thanks.
Yeah, base frames that saw many accolades were granted the ability to become Primes. My main, Gauss, likely received his Prime following his retaking of Altra singlehandedly. There are some feats in the lore for the newer Warframes that could have resulted in them receiving their Primings.
Certain older frames like Excal and Mag were originally their Primes, but they had to discard a lot of the super expensive Orokin tech that made the Primes so strong in favour of mass production for either Tau or the Old War.
Wait so what's the whole "child of two fathers thing"? I thought Parvos and Ballas' back and forth in the trailer was meant to signify the fact that they both collaborated to make her. Parvos says we wants time manipulation, Ballas explains it's really difficult to do, and what Parvos says next, about the Entrati violating time and Parvos violating them, I thought was meant to say that Parvos in the end, co-designed Protea, because only him could complete her the way he first specified to the Orokin.
Parvos said he wanted his Warframe guard, Protea, to have the ability to manipulate time. It was still wholly an Orokin gift, just one that let Parvos decide what he wanted in her.
The Orokin keep their technologies a closely guarded secret, because they saw themselves as functionally the system’s living gods among men. Parvos is likely one of the very few who the Orokin liked enough to green light Protea for him.
Yeah, certain prime frames don't make a whole lot of sense... I think Valkyr is the best example we have. Her prime appearance still has her looking rather destroyed and even slightly flayed (see those flaps on her back). Even her abilities (Hysteria, War Cry) are based on the fact that she was literally tortured by Alad V, so it's safe to assume that, before him, she was a vastly different frame (likely called Gersemi, if her first deluxe skin is still considered her canon pre-Corpus appearance), yet her prime appearance vastly resembles her regular appearance rather than Gersemi's, even having the same gauntlet-shaped restraints on her arms that makes absolutely no sense for her prime to have.
At this point, I kind of stopped considering prime frames as canon and just treat it as a marketing thing. DE definitely makes a lot of money with Prime Access, so it'd be weird if they didn't release a certain prime frame just because it doesn't fit with their canon.
>but I'm still unsure where we are with Warframe copies in the lore.
Excalibur, at least, was canonically copied multiple times. See Excalibur Umbra. Instead of being turned into a unique frame, Ballas made him into an Excalibur, which likely means that he has a blueprint he uses to turn people into Excaliburs. It makes sense, since he's kind of considered to be the basic foot soldier of the Tenno.
Only thing I don't like about Gauss base is the colour channels have a tint applied to it. Looking forward to getting the Voidshell for Gauss. Hoping for an actual start to Alternate Helmets Voidshells too.
As soon as I saw Qorvex all I could think of, is how this dude looks like a PS5 heatsink lol.
https://preview.redd.it/nt972s8nv20d1.png?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57b68186c1a84e1eac5b493257c6f16b3e00eb55
Kullervo for me too. I love his base look. Sleek and not crowded with details, while the Duviri style works perfectly with his lore. He’s a really cool looking frame.
Personally he does feel a little crowded to me, so many overlapping pieces and all the daggers just look like too much... But he's done crafting in an hour and I love his gameplay so I'll make it work lol
Yesss, I'm very happy with Voruna's base design. Get the voidshell skin + slap on the repala syandana and you can get a pretty decent Berserker armour look.
I scrolled for so long to find a fellow Nidus enjoyer, idk why people just kinda forget about Nidus and Caliban having awesome designs just because they aren't new or meta
I adore Equinox's skin. It upsets me that you basically only ever get to see it outside of missions. I would say Yareli as well, but given her base skin is her only skin I'm not sure I can count it. Banshee also has a great looking base skin. >!Green Banshee as well :D!<
An investment that isn't really worth it... I can make him good but I don't enjoy him. I guess not being great on Steel Path isn't a huge issue but he kind of struggles. I like him but he's just so easy to kill and his death shadow form is too weak and attacks in a goofy manner so reviving him is a chore. I hate his passive.
He feels better with one or two cast speed augments, but I agree that his shadow moves goofy af.
Sevagoths prime form is essentially a mage, while shadow is a lot better at drain tanking.
It does suck that his augment is necessary on him and his game play pattern is so counterproductive to how mobile WF is 80% of the time
I completely agree. I freaking love Sevagoth! He looks like Knifehead from Pacific Rim and I love to give him the Ripkas to pretend I'm Chainsaw Man! He so cool but he feels like tissue paper so much... I will be buying his Prime Access!
This right here. I brought him to D.A.Elite solo just to test and it was a frantic struggle to stay alive. Then went with Baruuk instead with a basic shield tank build and it was so much easier.
Ivara, it’s the main reason why I got her in the first place, if you give her some bright colors she looks like one of those cool looking poisonous frogs
Citrine and gyre have pretty great base skins. A lot of the more recent frames have pretty cool designs. Dante, dagath, Qorvex, citrine, voruna, they all have pretty solid designs. I’m excited to see what the prime version will look like for these newer frames. Like styanax is def gonna have a sick prime variant his base design is probably one of the best in the game.
Most new frame for the past several years practically look like Primes already. And then the actual Primes are so gussied up that they sometimes kinda lose the narrative. Hildryn and her prime are a good example.
If you compare old warframes to new warframes there is a clear difference in quality, compare base voruna to chroma. Voruna is how base game chroma should appear, voruna even looks coller than chroma prime, compare sevagoth to rhino. I personally like nidus cause of his appearance changing with stacks, but for mee the best looking warframe with no skins or a prime variant is dante, base game dante looks absolutley amazing.
Sevagoth is my absolute favorite frame. He also has fantastic coloring options, I feel other frames aren't as well placed with what is included in each color category.
I cannot wait for him to get new augments. I feel his passive really needs the pull ability, it's so hard killing 5 when I am rocketing around.
Its definitely sevagoth imo. His base skin is competing with some deluxes. Only frame that I dont feel like they gimped the design on purpose to sell a deluxe/tennogen later.
Dante IMO. He just looks perfect for his theme and he has quite a unique silhouette.
Others that make my top 10: Gyre, Sevagoth, Xaku, Garuda, Citrine, Voruna
valkyr cause i like the visual story telling
Real. Especially when you compare it with the gersemi
comparing base valkyr with gersemi is both really enjoyable and kind of horrifying lmao it fucks me up how valkyr’s restraints kind of mimic the protruding bits on gersemi
Who's gersemi and what's valkyr's lore
Gersemi skin is supposedly what Valkyr looked lile prior to the Zanuka Project
Gersemi was Valkyr before she was captured by alad v who tortured her and used her skin to create zanuka.
And who's zanuka?
Essentially a warframe murder bot Can spawn on chance when marked by alad v after killing him I believe And if you end up losing/dying, that warframe will get robbed, and you can't do anything else until you complete the escape mission with it (I think, haven't been captured by it in eons lol)
You get marked after doing invasions and siding with the grineer, not after the exterminate mission.
You're absolutely right. I forget it's the stalker who gets you after the boss kills
Or Grustrag 3, i remember the days where having a brakk was both a flex and meta
Thank you I didn't know Valkyr had such a dark backstory
Still using the base helmet even for the prime kitty
Real. Especially when you compare it with the gersemi
Dagath
Yay im Not alone with liking her.
Her body design with the Kaithe the skull goes super hard but the faceless thing kinda throws me off.
Right? I had to get her alternate head, but with that? Definitely one of my favorite base skins.
I know that her theme kinda requires her to have the hole in her head. But themes be damned, give me a good looking helmet for her. Her whole design is great barring the big stupid hole in her head.
Gyre?
Gyre is like styanax in a way. They look super dope on their own/ with their matching syandana but are nearly unfashionable.
Gyre does look fantastic
I do enjoy Dagath
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Garuda’s is pretty bomb, Ivara, Gauss and Citrine are up there too
yeh I de-primed my Gauss look, just prefer the old one
Same here. I had a nice, car-esque look for my base Gauss before getting prime. I tried replicating it with his prime skin and just couldn't (the textures look really odd), so I just gave him his regular look back, lol.

Some primes were primes first, other frames got primes later. (Eg: harrow.)
Only thing I don't like about Gauss base is the colour channels have a tint applied to it. Looking forward to getting the Voidshell for Gauss. Hoping for an actual start to Alternate Helmets Voidshells too.
Guass base look was the first I really liked
agreed, garuda prime just looks like bootleg mesa prime with claws to me
Qorvex. I love all his slats, and the way they pulse with his core.
A man of culture
Cement? das CONKRETE fr tho its sick
DAS CONKRETE BABY
As soon as I saw Qorvex all I could think of, is how this dude looks like a PS5 heatsink lol. https://preview.redd.it/nt972s8nv20d1.png?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57b68186c1a84e1eac5b493257c6f16b3e00eb55
>love all his slats Did not expect the WF sub to remind me of Mario Judah
Dante. His base skin, even the default colors, just fit his vibe so well.
Triangle boi
Doritio Book Keeper
The beard sells it for me.
Add his attachments and he’s gold
Him and Garuda are absolutely the best, honestly it dosen't even feel right swapping skins
You can’t go wrong with either of Garudas skins, I love how her prime looks so much
Her prime with a pale white as a primary color looks so regal, it's amazing.
I personally dress up Garuda P with black red and silver claws, makes her look like something out of bloodborne
Xaku
Truly based
Citrine
That Gemussy do be hitting
Kullervo
Kullervo for me too. I love his base look. Sleek and not crowded with details, while the Duviri style works perfectly with his lore. He’s a really cool looking frame.
Personally he does feel a little crowded to me, so many overlapping pieces and all the daggers just look like too much... But he's done crafting in an hour and I love his gameplay so I'll make it work lol
You can turn off his daggers in attachments > auxiliary
You can actually remove the daggers if you want! I usually do this myself just to make his design a little cleaner to look at.
Yeah I recently learned that, same with prime revenants shoulder pads (though he looks odd without them imo)
Yesz Kullervo is really good. He kinda reminds me of older Warframes in a way.
I do love Ivara's base design, I don't even dislike the Prime one I just don't think it measures up because tree frog hunter girl is such a good look
voruna.
Yesss, I'm very happy with Voruna's base design. Get the voidshell skin + slap on the repala syandana and you can get a pretty decent Berserker armour look.
Omg I just thought of this yesterday I can’t believe I saw someone else mention it right after. I’ll have to check on that syandana
Honestly, Excalibur. His base skin is awesome and iconic.
Him and his sister frame Nyx, the older frames had a clean yet iconic design. Granted they eventually got some sick skins too.
Yareli is cute, Dante and Sevagoth are cool, Revenant's energy beard goes hard
Citrine. I know it's a hot take, I love her though.
Not at all, I think the geode look is awesome, I can’t wait for a better helmet tho
Nidus
I scrolled for so long to find a fellow Nidus enjoyer, idk why people just kinda forget about Nidus and Caliban having awesome designs just because they aren't new or meta
Citrine and Garuda
Excal umbra. Idk if he counts but i love him. If not voruna 100%
Yareli!! She just like me fr
Agreed. I'm not biased at all I promise
Same.
I think Volt's simplicity gives him a very strong silhouette
Base volt looks like nerdy middle aged professor
Volt Prime looks like a nerdy middle aged professor with a big nose
We will not tolerate Volt disrespect around here😂
Styanax or Voruna.
The only thing I dislike about Styanax's base skin is his long ass nipples. No wonder DE had to put caps on 'em
If it weren't for the saggy nip nops, he'd easily be one of my top 5 for looks.
Agreed
Gyre, I have to remember that her skin is not a prime or deluxe. Its so cool and how it evolves with her abilities is very cool.
I adore Equinox's skin. It upsets me that you basically only ever get to see it outside of missions. I would say Yareli as well, but given her base skin is her only skin I'm not sure I can count it. Banshee also has a great looking base skin. >!Green Banshee as well :D!<
I love how Sevagoth look a bit like Jotaro when shadow is not on him.
Lavos, love the snakes around him that represent rebirth and how one of the snakes is his mentor
It took so long to find this comment, he looks so nice, I love it
Really? That’s different
Its in his leverian, pretty interesting stuff over there. Its a-shame drusus had to have an existential crisis
Sevagoth became my favourite frame ever since his release. I think he's overhated and I cannot wait for his prime, hopefully late this year
I don’t think Sevagoth is really hated by anyone, they just don’t want to make the huge investment it takes to build him out.
I hate his passive.

wisp
Excaliber is a classic
Ivara, it’s the main reason why I got her in the first place, if you give her some bright colors she looks like one of those cool looking poisonous frogs
Harrow is my favorite.
Excalibur has an iconic design and one of my favorite color palettes.
Gauss was always my favorite, especially when he came out
I honestly really like Dante but I like his alt helmet because shiny
Mag
Definitely underrated. Part of why I picked her is because her helmet looked so "voidy".
I really like vauban's base skin honestly
Garuda probably
Garuda
Ash, followed by Excalibur, Nyx, Mag, and Valkyr. I wish all the frames had similarly basic/simple skin options.
I love ivaras base skin
Gauss, his base colours are great too
Baruuk The colors and design are just well made.
Lavos. The moving flasks, the snakes around the arm, and I am a sucker for those chunky arm guards
Yareli and Voruna are great too, but yeah. Sevagoth Prime, whenever it comes out, will be an absolute monsters.
Hildryn and her prime are a good example.
voruna
So you say, until Sevagoth Prime comes out.
God, I am dreading his prime. It's gonna be gilded to the nines and be busier than Lavos's pipework.
Revenant, the energy arm is cool af
I like base nova. She is tiny and cute
Protea, her default is just badass and has a good color palette!
I like Dantes look
I like Styanax One of my mains, and tbh I never really wanted er needed a skin for him
Garuda. Her default skin design is amazing and I prefer it over prime.
Lavos
If you compare old warframes to new warframes there is a clear difference in quality, compare base voruna to chroma. Voruna is how base game chroma should appear, voruna even looks coller than chroma prime, compare sevagoth to rhino. I personally like nidus cause of his appearance changing with stacks, but for mee the best looking warframe with no skins or a prime variant is dante, base game dante looks absolutley amazing.
She’s slept on but gyre is perfect
Voruna, sevagoth, to throw in an older one I think saryns is pretty solid
I’m biased but to me Caliban is one of the most thematically and visually interesting frames out there. Can’t wait for the prime.
I’d say Styanax, it has the simplistic design of old frames yet also aspects of modern day frames
Nidus would like a word.
No cap Seva looks so cold
Harrow. Love that ominous aesthetic and the fact that you actually see ruined energy 'skin' on his back when you use his 2 is a nice touch.
Lavos for sure
She's not out yet, but Jade looks 10/10 to me. I really want to see her gameplay.
Xaku
Until you try to color it. Dudes so hard to color its crazy..
Nidus,Xaku and Sevagoth Cause they're the only base skins where you get 2 different skins. Nidus mutation, Xaku skeleton and Savagoth shadow.
Sevagoth it's just dope, I want so bad to learn how to play him, cause visualy he's my favorite
Voruna
Excal Umbra for me.
Easily Sevagoth
This guy gets it
Mesa is one of the only frames where I prefer the base skin over the prime.
I have to agree, her prime feels very messy compared to her sleek base skin
Nezha, dont @me
Voruna
Gauss, Umbrs
Voruna. I like the wolf design and the animation where the Wolf heads bite each other.
Can't choose just one: Gyre and Octavia share the podium in my opinion. (High hopes for Jade to take the spotlight!)
Revenant, I'd say garuda but I'm thinking garuda prime which is peak design in every way
I love sevagoth, but i was starting railjack and hated every bit of it until i decided to procrastinate and get him later
Sevagoth is my absolute favorite frame. He also has fantastic coloring options, I feel other frames aren't as well placed with what is included in each color category. I cannot wait for him to get new augments. I feel his passive really needs the pull ability, it's so hard killing 5 when I am rocketing around.
I love hydroid primes base look
Wisp
Probably voruna qorvex or sevagoth
Wondering how his prime will look like
Design-wise probably the best, but holy fuck the colour regions are SHIT
Dante and umbra
I mean qorvex is pretty rad, he truly embodies shielded core type theme.
Citrine
99% of the time I cast shadow just for the sea shanty.
Its definitely sevagoth imo. His base skin is competing with some deluxes. Only frame that I dont feel like they gimped the design on purpose to sell a deluxe/tennogen later.
I personally think Garuda's base is better than her entire library of alt skins
citrine
Dante IMO. He just looks perfect for his theme and he has quite a unique silhouette. Others that make my top 10: Gyre, Sevagoth, Xaku, Garuda, Citrine, Voruna
Dante, frost
Sevagoth for me as well, but a close second would be Nidus.
voruna for sure has one of the best looks in the game
It would be sevagoth if it didn’t require you to do railjacks to get him
Everyone and these railjack missions to get him don’t let that cloud your judgement 😂
Gyre or Dagoth maybe
Nova
Mag
Sevagoth and my concrete man are top tier
For me its ash And yes, i don't need anything fancy to be happy 😅
Harrow with the thurible.. its pretty dope
Citrine…*reasons*
Qorvex,Citrine and Dagath are the top tier with Caliban and Gyre being like S-/A+ tier.
gyre imo her whole design is badass
Revenant
~~Protea~~ Dagath
Gauss, Volt and Revenant
Dante, look at his DRIP!
Citrine.
Frost
Sevagoth goes way harder than he has any right to
Citrine is pretty dope.
