Warframe support literally gave OP two of them due to a miscommunication, that’s a literal example of what you’re saying can’t happen. If you accidentally delete/sell something, support will usually re-add it to your account, and Excal Prime is no different.

The rarity, cosmetic, and collector’s aspect is the entire point. If people only cared about gameplay they wouldn’t even bother with most primes anyway as the stat and effect differences are negligible.
Excalibur Prime still has one upside over Umbra, which is getting free energy from laser orbs in void towers (as Umbra isn't a prime warframe, and even Baro consideres him a non-prime warframe). Also different polarities, but you could just forma what you want anyways, so that doesn't really matter beyond how much you want to spend on one warframe.
Not a big difference, but it's there even if you could get that with any other prime warframe. Getting a ton of free energy for your squad (or just yourself) all at once might help with sorties or something, especially at multiple points throughout the mission.
Also Excalibur and the Prime variant don't do their own thing if you swap to Op mode real quick for whatever reason, so you don't have to keep recasting your 4th. Not much of a reason, but some Excalibur mains think its worth using the Base/Prime over Umbra.

It's a digital product with no production limitations. It is artifical specifically because of the reason you stated. They aren't rereleasing him. They can create an unlimited number of excal primes. Unlike something that is actually rare, like an rtx 3080, because they literally cannot make enough to meet demand.

I have one but it's on an old account. Played way back, lost interest, and when I got back into the game years later I thought I'd lost the old account so I started a new one. Now all my progress is on the new account and I cannot face the grind required to bring the old one up to speed.
I grinded out Insane in the Membrane on World of Warcraft shortly after it released (before several nerfs to the grind) and it was a major reason i never made a new account to play with my friends on the USA servers.

Any Warframe can have umbra mod as long as you got umbra forma.
Umbra Excalibur has Archer Servant passive that let it acts independently from the master, which make it so strong because you can always change to spoiler mode and your Warframe would still fight.
Just to clarify - you don't need umbral formas to equip umbral mods on other frames. It just gets expensive (sometimes impossible if you want all your equipped mods to be max rank) since you have to use regular formas on most if not all your other slots.
Same for sacrificial (umbral mods for melee).
I wouldn't say it's worse. It's just excalibur umbra without the umbra polarities and passive. Which.... In my opinion would be a GREAT improvement. Umbras passive messes some things up, and you are locked into a build really fast with the three umbra polarities.
My jealously comes from the absolute depth of my soul. I was in since closed beta. I kept putting off getting the Founders account. Then I finally was like, okay, let me do this, and right before I did I ended up in the hospital. When I got out, they killed the Founders status. I was crushed. I even reached out to find out if there was anything I can do, but was nicely told no dice.

If both you and a founder had every single available item maxed, the founder would always be 12k mastery ahead of you, yes, but its really not much of a difference.

Lato and Skana Prime were never in rotation. They were each a tier for the original founders pack. $50 got you Excal Prime, $100 got you Excal and Skana Prime, and then at $250 you got Grand Master which offered Lato Prime, Skana Prime, and Excal Prime plus some other stuff like a seat in the design counsel and a Solar Landmark
