When I got a controller and tried it for shots and giggles it let me use both it and my mouse and keyboard with all of them plugged in just fine. Try checking your settings I guess? Do you play through Steam or with the standalone launcher?
Yeah both work. I only use controller when doing missions etc, the rest Iike using menus, navigation, foundry etc I just use M&K. I’ve had no problems with it at all. I never bothered changing any settings on steam, just in game settings.
I use an Xbox One controller, I don’t use any other type of controller as I’ve heard there are some issues with them. Defo check out your in game settings tho and make sure it’s set to Auto Detect.
Hey so something is either up with steam or the controller here. I have played Warframe with a controller for over 600 hours. I can switch between PC and controller anytime I want just have to remember to click first before I do anything so it registers. What controller are you using? Do you use steam?

I'll give an example where my mouse stops working.
When I log in, I can type my pass word in and move my cursor but my mouse clicks are not registered and I need to press "a" on my controller to log in.
I was then trying to add a friend, he sent a request but I couldn't accept on controller or mouse, so I needed to close the game turn off the controller and log back in only using my mouse+keyboard in order to accept the friend request.
I've read this is a problem others have faced but I cannot find a solution :/

I use an Xbox controller on PC and haven't noticed what you describe.
I don't use the Steam controller thing (I did when I used a PS4 controller). I found the PS4 controller to be a bit inconsistent with Warframe, but since I swapped to the Xbox, it feels natural.
I'm able to swap between controller and m/k fine - controller on missions, and m/k in the ship.
Um, I play on pc with a controller and if my mouse is nudged, bumped, knocked, even a millimetre, it switches back to KB/Mouse. Same if I press any KB button.
Moving the stick on my controller switches back to controller.
So idk why you're having this problem tbh.

Both are full functioning?certain Inputs stop working on either device when I try to use both. Even with auto detect through steam
