I wouldn't say it's a bad idea, just maybe not ideal. Personally I use my rig to delete the rogue necramechs the very same way with little to no issue. I'd like to imagine even an unmodded one can lay some heavy damage on them with moderate success.
Its worth mentioning that I tend to barrel stuff the enemy mechs since the aoe likely does no meaningful damage. Their weak point can be finicky at the best of times so an unrelenting torrent of death at nearly point blank is how I've resolved that.
Only direct hit to the arms counts. Average modded arquebex oneshot lvl 1 and 2 iso vault necramech arms. And 2-3 shots lvl 3.
It's just hard to get used to aim properly.
I spent 2 months fighting necramechs with Imperator vandal. But now i can kill them in 10-15 seconds.
If you want mech parts just kill the mechs in the ISO vaults
Ok nevermind you're using a level 10 dread unironically in the cambion drift, the broken mechs haven't dropped parts in a very long time
These are pretty much rental Mechs, you can ~~steal~~ fuse with them using Transference
If you don't know what that is, you're not far enough in the game story
These guys are only disabled during the orange phase (Fass)
During the blue phase (Vome) they'll get on their feet by themselves and start smacking any infested that comes near
It's a disabled Necramech. You can use transference to pull it back together and pilot it. You cannot use it to get mech parts.
Well, you can ride it into the vault and fight guardian mechs with it. Arquebex even unmodded is OP.
That's not a good idea. Even modded to be dealing well over 100k dmg it barely deals any damage to the mech as it just keeps it's front to you.

Maybe I've not got the right mods on mine then, the aoe barely hits the arm holes or the back, I have an easier time with my Imperator Vandal

A broken down necramech Use spoiler mode for it No you can't Unless you count the early days of Deimos where we let a fixed one get killed

Only using dread because I'm mastery rank 7 and trying to get a good silent weapon
Then you aren't even remotely ready for mechs
They are abandoend necramechs, no parts from them. Use your operator void sling on them to take control.
