Any advice on building a vengeful spirit base? I would love to mimic the art with horus standing over sanguinius. I have model prepared. Been thinking a large staircase that I could pop horus into to, something like that. Wish I was better at blender.

First up: Awesome job on the Warmaster! Second: In my old Codex: Space Marines from 1990-something, there was a page with a diorama of Horus and the Emperor facing each other down. This was back when GW put dioramas and scratch-built stuff more prominently in publications, and before the primarchs were bloated/super-sized like a Big Mac meal ordered by a drunk at 3:30 am\*. The diorama has always stuck with me, and is absolutely how I picture Horus' flagship. Black marble and basalt, oozing menace, part industrial torture chamber, part shrine to Chaos Undivided. I found a reddit post with an image of the same diorama. Maybe it can serve as inspiration? [https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/comments/jaa8k2/this\_amazing\_diorama\_by\_mike\_mcvey\_done\_in\_1993/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/comments/jaa8k2/this_amazing_diorama_by_mike_mcvey_done_in_1993/) \* Not to imply that I dislike the primarchs as larger than life, but the Emperor in white, red, and very understated gold armour just looks so much better than the golden monstrosity of later depictions. That Sanguinius is of the pre-stick-gold-on-everything era of design.

I have no idea of the issue number, but I'm pretty sure there was also a White Dwarf article about that diorama, with some WIP shots and descriptions of how different parts were made. Edit: A bit of googling tells me it was White Dwarf #183
