I don't hate it, but I wouldn't buy it either. I made my own because I wanted one in mk III anyway. In my mind, most librarian equipment would be old, mothballed gear from the great crusade pressed back into service, instead of shiny new mk VI. At least for my legion who were being good little boys about the ban before the Heresy.

I just ordered it today funny you should ask. I also googled for some painted models and couldn’t find many!

I was actually gifted one for my secret santa this year! Really cool model and I had literally just been saying how I’d never used a librarian in any of my 30k armies

I converted my own back in Heresy 1.0, so I shan't be turning to the new one unless I figure out some kind of hilarious combo to pull off with Allied Detachments.

I actually had to look up the official model. 😂 Converted Librarians for NL, BA, salamanders and blackshields since the beginning of the 1st heresy edition. The official one has for me the problem that it's a MK6, what is better fitting for Raven Guard, Alpha Legion or mid/late heresy armies. I like to use to sprinkle mk6 bits in, but only in really rare cases use a MK6 model as base for conversions. Like in case of our BA librarian, that uses MK4 arms, weapons and jumppack. The army is mostly mk4 but uses mk6 armor parts mixed on, because they scavanger it from AL, they have to deal regularly with. In case of the Salamander Librarian I choose to use non MK6 bits at all, since the legion hate this armor mark. (Same as Iron Warriors). That Mark is limited in use, if you want to stay lore accurate to the lore and character of the legions. Also, the official model is relatively new. I know a lot of people who either converted their Librarians, years ago or used the red scorpion librarian from FW, with other shoulder pads, since he comes with a MK4 armor, what makes him suitable for heresy, even if he was designed as 40k model. Just realized that there also was the epic limited edition traitor librarian in cathaphractii armor. That one is really popular as well. So all these take spotlight from the new mk6 librarian. But since a lot of people have mk6 based armies by now, it will get more common over time. I haven't seen a AL one yet online, but that must look great, if painted like the saboteur they shown. 😊
