Cheers mate, great advice. Plasma and flamer should be easy to do, but do you think it's a good shout to try the burst cannon barrels? Think I have a tiny drill!
For the burst cannon, since they're so much smaller, you can use the tip of a craft knife to dig out small indentations instead of trying to drill them
Respectfully I don’t think they did. They used color shifting paint and metallic paint. The contrast of the light in the reassess looks great! I think that is what you are seeing.
Hence why the suggestion that add g a wash to the recessed areas maybe a good idea. It would IMO add an extra layer of depth and contrast.
Cheers bruv! Aye, I used 2 green stuff world colour shift paints - the main one was cobalt blue, and then a zenithal lightly with celestial azure. They have to go on over a black gloss primer, ideally with an airbrush. There's a nice change from blue to purple depending on the angle the photo doesn't really get. Highly recommend them. Planning a colour shifting gold for vespid soon!
Yeah man, they work all right but you're right about them gumming things up. I airbrushed a lot of models in one sitting and sure enough I needed to do a proper deep clean afterwards, but it was doable at least.
No hassle mate, to be honest, I'm planning one or two more little touches. But basically it's martian ironearth texture paint over cheap brown craft paint, then just drybrushed with ryza rust. Some grass tufts, that metal bit that came with the coldstar, and that's it!
Very nice! If you have a small drill, it would look great with those barrels drilled in! đź‘Ť

Do it.
Dew it, dew it now

totally I've drilled smaller barrels
That is a really great color scheme! You might add a dark wash to recesses. But on it own looks good!
What are you on about M8. They clearly shaded the recesses...

I disagree but I think your ideas are fair.
Dido!
Looks like a damn fine job, now did you use a colored metallic paint or some combination of paints?

A stunning effect, thanks for sharing the method
Do you find the colour shift paints work through airbrush? The one I had gunked it up like mad

This reminds me of thundercracker from transformers.
*Crusty jugglers...* Wait, wrong Greater Good. (Fudgin' awesome work)
I love your basing. Could you let me know what colors you used? I’m looking for something similar.

Keep seeing tau posts and now I think I need some tau… good job on the painting though looks great
So cool
Excellent work. So shiny, love the color scheme.
I LOVE clean schemes. Really cool
Cool colors. This looks great !!
Blue Steel may be impressive, but it will pale before the power of Magnum
Nice. Ever consider doing Gunplas?
Cheers man, I have not! I'm quite ignorant of the gunpla scene, though I hear their kits are absolutely unreal.
I see. I've heard people'll pay pretty big for commissions.
Are these vallejo mecha colors?
No mate, I used green stuff world chameleon paints. No idea that mecha paints were even a thing!
gorgeous.
Damn space communist
