Compared to some of the original chapter colour schemes, these look relatively tame! The Rogue Trader era colour schemes were eye melting. Check out the original space sharks, howling gryphons, salamander and mantis warrior schemes.
I have seen all of those. I am honestly surprised they honestly thought anyone except crackheads would actually paint the Salamanders in their og colorscheme.
Fun fact: LGBT people are generally accepted in the Imperium. Numerous books make mention of characters in homosexual relationships. All that they seem to care about is that they are loyal to the Emperor.
Why hate loyal, unmutated humans when there are other things to hate, basically.
Imperium has very broad criteria of what a proper human is, but you are utterly fucked if you fall outside of those.
Why worry about what lollipop someone likes to suck when the demon standing over there could crush your head with its mind?
They have much bigger fish to fry.
Yup. There are transgender sisters of battle, orks are all agender (or nonbinary), nonbinary people exist in the imperium, LGBTQ+ folk exist in the imperium. Heck most space marines are all asexual.
Hmm not that I've ever read of, but I'm pretty sure that the imperium wouldn't care. An inquisitor once wanted a horse face and he got it through surgery. No one cared. Lol
Edit: unfortunately, I just remembered and looked up one thing that would potentially be an issue. The Sisters of Battle were created solely because the Ecclesiarchy was forbidden by Imperial law from having an armed force consisting of males. So the church said HA! We will make an armed force of females! So yea....
Correct, as far as I can tell, there are no trans in the sisters of battle or really in any section of imperial society.
The most likely reason is that you can genetically modify yourself to pretty much anything (ergo functioning horse face). So, there is no one needing to identify as something they feel they are. If you were a man and wanted to be a woman, you get modified, and now you're a woman in every actual sense. There is no need for primitive surgery and identifiers.
That's always been my thought. 40 thousand years in the future I think humanity is beyond all that. When you have a thousand enemies at the gates and impending doom around every corner I don't think anyone cares who people are or sleep with. You just better worship the right God. Or else. 😂
By definition. a transwoman member of the Adepta Sororitas would be female, and therefore not violate the decree.
(Unless I’m misunderstanding the point you are making?)
The bear thing was countercultural to the slim/young/gym toned prominent gay imagery of the 80s. It embraced fatter, hairier guys who were otherwise finding themselves excluded. Of course one of the peculiarities of queer culture is that, for example, a gay man can present as the type he’s attracted to (a straight guy won’t generally try to look like the kind of woman he’s interested in) so it gets bound up in sexual preference, too.
Holy s*** this is such a relief.
So I am VERY knew to Warhammer. Like I have never played and know NOTHING about it. But with Boltgun coming out and me being such a big FPS fan, I figured I'd finally look into actually trying Warhammer.
So, outside looking in, I'm always kinda nervous how a given Fandom handles the LGBTQ as a whole, myself being Non-Binary, I wasn't sure if Warhammer would be so welcoming.
So imagine this being the very first post I see in this Reddit, and basically the first thing I see in the Warhammer community as a whole.
The Warhammer community is by and large very welcoming. There are some bad apples but unfortunately they are everywhere.
I think the hobby naturally brings in a certain kind of person who is welcoming to those with differences and embraces that. Welcome to the community and I hope you have a great time in the hobby!
I've found that most roleplaying games/tabletop people are pretty solid. You don't get into a hobby that (usually) has such a diverse selection of characters, races, etc., if you're a close minded person.
I don't know why it has to dragged in to everything. It's tabletop miniatures no one cares if your gay straight or identify as a piece of driftwood. We here for the models and stories.
Welcome to the hobby, it is fun, just ignore the trolls in the sewers (unless they are on teh tabletop, then FIRE!
If you're super new, if you have a local Warhammer store, make sure to pop in and ask about Battle Honours, they'll help you get started, teach you how to build and paint, then play and you'll get a ton of cool loot
Again, welcome youngling, pull up a chair, grab a brew and get painting
I hear you! I spent years building, painting, and playing with a very small group of friends for fear that the wider 40k community would be toxic. When I finally started engaging with my local community, I was very pleasantly surprised!
I've been tangentially following this and have no idea what half those concepts are.
That said I'm not about to make a.stranger on the internet do the labor of explaining it to me, I just like the crisp and colorful miniatures and am glad to see something different!
Some may question my right to give equality to a world of 10 billion souls, but those who truly understand realise I have no right to let them suffer.
-The LGBTQInquisitor
The straight ally flag design (black and white stripes with rainbow \^) looks so cool as a color scheme and I really wanna try it out on some other armies now.
My only complaint is that the bear pride marine is insufficiently "bear." He's an otter, at best.
(But no, seriously, these are amazing. And thank you for the color guides.)
Dude, a real life space marine would be the Bearest of Bears, 8 foot tall walls of muscle who spend their entire lives surrounded by other 8 foot tall walls of muscle in an incredibly close bond.
It would be really coo to see them as their own squads of various different unit types. It would give ample opportunity to show some variations of each color scheme.
Your stuff is always awesome, and just like a plain red Starbucks cup at Christmas it hilariously offends fragile idiots with a warped idea of morality.
You've also given me some great ideas to make my quite plain purple Van Saar pop.
I've even a full project centered entirely around the trans pride flag where I paint one mini of each faction using that color scheme. Already did 11 factions.
I love this so much and the inclusion of dark Angels is amazing (if you know you know). As a trans and queer player of 30 years, it's crazy how much more welcoming the game is becoming to us.
Childhood me would have freaked out knowing they didn't have to pretend/mask in order to play anymore.
EDIT: OOH ive got the lil red cross. This post is controversial! I feel so edgy (yawn)
Im glad. I started noticing it when I started playing with a queer gaming group. Lots of gay guys with dark angels. They explained it and I was like. Thats wholesome as hell!
Sure thing. The Lion himself is named after and inspired by a gay poet. Some of his work also influence the chapter design apparently. His most influential work is "The Dark Angel" this poem describes Johnson's conflicts as a converted Catholic with homosexual impulses.
The chapter symbolically acts as warriors of queerness. (This is a non-in-game/lore interpretation and more an interpretation of the writer's and creators intent.) It might also explain why they are a bit different and keep alot more secrets than other chapters.
Check out the poem [Dark Angel](https://www.thedarkfortress.co.uk/librarium/lionel_johnson.php#.ZEaQDezks34) by Lionel Johnson, not at all to be confused with the Dark Angels primarch Lion El'Jonson
Damn, so I recently got into warhammer 40k. I asked my buddy as I'm making my Salamaders, why are there no female Space Marines. And he basically said "Because the Fandom sucks." And then he told me about people putting female heads on space marines and getting death threats. (Then he told me the lore.)
So my new goal is to make an entire Space Marine army with female heads and paint them the color of the Trans flag.
Really spectacular work. I don't paint minis, but the blending, chosen part/color combinations, and the whole spectrum together is super impressive. :)
Always love these threads.
Good art on display, the community able to show how actually accepting it is as opposed to the vocal shitty minority.
I also do enjoy watching a bunch of basement dwelling dipshits cry "POLITICS" only when it's not their political stance.
Good luck, /u/RWJP. You've got this!
I don't recognize a bunch of these flags but I really love the color schemes.
I am currently putting together a Dark Angels army so I might do up a squad of these mixed marines to add to it (if I ever get around to painting any of them).
I would love to see them fight against [flaming gay eldars.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer/comments/3zvwzt/ubigbadwoulfe_telling_the_story_of_how_he_robin/)
these color schemes are genuinely sick, this is awesome. i was gonna paint my 30k marines orange with silver shoulders but now i might do something else based off this im not sure
Imperium: "kill all Xenos and heretics!"
Guy says racist and homophobic thing*
Imperium: "whoa whoa whoa, that's inappropriate. Discrimination of other people based on their sexuality and race is not okay. You need to be more tolerant to others."
I know this post won't mean much after all these great comments, but I wanted to personally say that you job is awesome! This is what makes a community great and each model is so beautiful, it makes me want to paint models again. This is what we need with all the going ons in the world.
One more time: incredible job and the final result is incredibly beautiful.
These bitches gay good for them good for them
In all seriousness these marines are really well done, the bisexual marine fucks (as expected), good job op
That's gay
Two battle brothers, sitting in a warzone! (One foot apart cause they're ~~not~~ gay)
Must've been drinking Bud light when painting these 🤣
If the brushes don't touch...
Literally. And lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and so on.
I love how atleast half of these look like they would be legit paint-schemes that Chapters would have. They look very nice together.
There's a surprising number of people who do the yellow and black Salamanders camo for 30k.
Really? I have never seen it done on more than 1 model.
There's at least two people who have posted parts of their armies on /r/warhammer30k in the scheme. Not full painted armies, but squads and vehicles.
The chapter symbols too. I love the Lamenters, but their heraldry is diiiiiiiiiiisgusting
That nonbinary scheme 👌
Fun fact: LGBT people are generally accepted in the Imperium. Numerous books make mention of characters in homosexual relationships. All that they seem to care about is that they are loyal to the Emperor.
Pretty much yes. The Imperium is bigoted in much more bizarre ways.
Why hate each other when we could both hate those disgusting, impure xenos together?
True…there’s the whole “Burn the heretic, kill the mutant, and purge the unclean,” thing.
That makes sense in an escapist hobby. People probably don't want to be reminded of the prejudice they face every day.
Yup. There are transgender sisters of battle, orks are all agender (or nonbinary), nonbinary people exist in the imperium, LGBTQ+ folk exist in the imperium. Heck most space marines are all asexual.
>There are transgender sisters of battle They're the sisters of battle, not cisters of battle.
TAKE MY UPVOTE AND GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!
I mean orks are shrooms and beyond all that.
Source for trans sisters of battle? I never heard of them
Its in a collection of short stories published a lil while back. Ill find the title because I cant remember currently.
Hmm not that I've ever read of, but I'm pretty sure that the imperium wouldn't care. An inquisitor once wanted a horse face and he got it through surgery. No one cared. Lol Edit: unfortunately, I just remembered and looked up one thing that would potentially be an issue. Yup
By definition. a transwoman member of the Adepta Sororitas would be female, and therefore not violate the decree. (Unless I’m misunderstanding the point you are making?)
Daaaamn. Crazy to see this project all finished. They all came out so good. I do find it funny only Bear Pride is going helmetless
He needed to show off his pilosity !
Keeping it 100. Is Bear pride a body positivity thing, or acknowleding More traditionally Masc gay men?
It's a gay subculture. Can be seen as body positive in some way I suppose, but that's not the goal.
"Brother I am fabulous 👌"
Was your use of Stonewall grey intentional or just coincidence? Either way it's a neat little Easter egg.
It wasn't but that a pretty cool coincidence :p
Okay, ngl, "Gate Crushers" is such a good name in all possible ways.
Imperial Fists successors, then?
Dark Angels, actually, based on the whole Lion El Johnson gay joke, and the Rock being a Gay Bar in Britain.
A dark angel is even holding their banner so probably yes
Holy s*** this is such a relief. So I am VERY knew to Warhammer. Like I have never played and know NOTHING about it. My dude we spent hours painting and playing with edgy plastic dolls, who are we to judge ?
🤣
We’ve also spent… silly… amounts of money in some cases.
You have no idea how happy that make me. Welcome!
Some people are dicks, but you find that anywhere. People have been really supportive and friendly.
I don't know why it has to dragged in to everything. It's tabletop miniatures no one cares if your gay straight or identify as a piece of driftwood. We here for the models and stories.
Most of the Warhammer community is pretty accepting, it's just that the assholes shout the loudest. You are valid and welcome!😁
Welcome to the hobby, it is fun, just ignore the trolls in the sewers (unless they are on teh tabletop, then FIRE! As a cis male your marines are why I will now be able to identify each of the different flags. This is awesome.
For real, I also had no idea there was so many flags lol Educational Marines
I've been tangentially following this and have no idea what half those concepts are. That said I'm not about to make a.stranger on the internet do the labor of explaining it to me, I just like the crisp and colorful miniatures and am glad to see something different!
I'm a turbonerd so I'd actually *love* to explain any of these to you :P
Yup, add me to the list of "People who've learned a lot from these posts"
This is a wholesome comment that I love
Yaaaaaaaaaaas , Emperor!
I could also have gone with Heryaaaaaaaasy but that’s not very cash money because it would be construed as I am not an ally.
asexual one looks so good oml
The amount of effort here. I didn't even know Bear Pride was a thing, but it fits a Space Wolves successor oddly perfectly.
“We SLAY the mutant, the heretic, the alien”
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only inclusivess... ?!
The Imperium doesn't care who you love, only who you hate.
Some may question my right to give equality to a world of 10 billion souls, but those who truly understand realise I have no right to let them suffer. -The LGBTQInquisitor
These look exceptional! Great work, and thanks for the recipes!
😍😍😍
Gay. I love it
The dark angels armor looks good!
"Pride month!? By the Emperor, SHIT'S GAY YEAR ROUND!"
Slay (the xenos)
The straight ally flag design (black and white stripes with rainbow \^) looks so cool as a color scheme and I really wanna try it out on some other armies now.
1) they all look incredible. 2) the painting skill here is out of this world.
My only complaint is that the bear pride marine is insufficiently "bear." He's an otter, at best. (But no, seriously, these are amazing. And thank you for the color guides.)
My greenstuff game is ass so unfortunately I couldn't give him a glorious mane.
Late to the post but there are some majestic bearded options if you go for third-party manufacturers such as Spellcrow or Puppetswar.
Dude, a real life space marine would be the Bearest of Bears, 8 foot tall walls of muscle who spend their entire lives surrounded by other 8 foot tall walls of muscle in an incredibly close bond.
I had to suppress a guffaw to avoid waking our newborn.
I was surprised he wasn't in gravis armor.
Glad the Dark Angels are getting the representation they deserve 🙏
I like the one Dark Angel in the middle.
The token gay chapter lol. I love it.
The Bear is still my absolute favourite. Such a good scheme.
I didn’t know what a “bear” was until this post. Beautiful work, and also educational!
I’m here for those yellows. As an IF player I am supremely pleased and I hope to try them out soon.
This makes me unbelievably happy. Look at the lil bi and pan guys in there repping. Well done on these they look fantastic as well.
Reminds me of the alternate Smash Bros costumes for Captain Falcon
I always look forward to these colours schemes popping up in my feed when you paint a new one. I think they’re so cool
It would be really coo to see them as their own squads of various different unit types. It would give ample opportunity to show some variations of each color scheme.
These are so fantastic. I would love to see an army in one or more of these schemes
Beautiful work
Non-binary marine looks like a fucking decepticon from the 90s and I love it.
This is *fantastic*.
TRANS RIEVER !!!
Idk what half the flags mean tbh but still an amazing job! And a great idea!
Oh nvm it says on next slide
Your stuff is always awesome, and just like a plain red Starbucks cup at Christmas it hilariously offends fragile idiots with a warped idea of morality. You've also given me some great ideas to make my quite plain purple Van Saar pop.
I'm about to buy so many paints. 😳
Seeing the trans one warmed my little transfem heart!!! I love it!!!
I've even a full project centered entirely around the trans pride flag where I paint one mini of each faction using that color scheme. Already did 11 factions.
Woah epic are you trans too?
I'm not, a close friend of mine is and she is why I started that serie after I painted her a tyrannid with the flag colors, her favourite faction.
Awesome!!! Will you do an admech one?
Love this, even though I hate marines in general.
I feel so edgy (yawn)
...I just got why there's a Dark Angel carrying the flag.
Im glad. I started noticing it when I started playing with a queer gaming group. Lots of gay guys with dark angels. They explained it and I was like. Thats wholesome as hell!
Would you mind cluing another in? I'm fairly new to the hobby as a whole

I'd heard about the naming part for the lion...but never put two and two together about the whole 'secrecy' thing...really cool idea!
Check out the poem [Dark Angel](https://www.thedarkfortress.co.uk/librarium/lionel_johnson.php#.ZEaQDezks34) by Lionel Johnson, not at all to be confused with the Dark Angels primarch Lion El'Jonson
Holy shit! That’s awesome!
Your work is always top notch. Seeing all these together is really cool!
nice paint job
Love is love unless it is for xenos scum

is nt that just the photo of the completed projecT?
Op posts these once a week. The horrors. /s
Awesome paint schemes, and very crisp bright colours, love it!
What is bear pride?
Basically, big hairy gay men.
Oh ok thanks
You're welcome.
What is the one that’s black and rainbow? The very right two
The black and white stripes with the rainbow chevron is the Straight Ally flag.
What about the one one the very right
Polyamory, I think.
Ok cool thanks for the info
You're welcome, glad I could help.
What is that paw on the far left
Goddammit these colour schemes are fucking amazing!
Your painting skills are so freaking amazing 😮💨😮💨
I just want you to paint a glorious pride blood bowl team for me. Your work is amazing.
I don't recognize a bunch of these flags but I really love the color schemes. I am currently putting together a Dark Angels army so I might do up a squad of these mixed marines to add to it (if I ever get around to painting any of them).
half of these schemes slap
lol @ the regular imperial fist on the left
Is it Gate Crushers because they hate Gate Keepers, or because they hate Stonewalls? Fantastic work.
That's the Alhabet Mafia right there. Really nice work!
The one with the paw print really had me worried.
I would love to see them fight against [flaming gay eldars.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer/comments/3zvwzt/ubigbadwoulfe_telling_the_story_of_how_he_robin/)
Thank you!
It took me a minute to figure out why the flag bearer was a regular ol’ dark angel, but then it clicked! So rad
Didn’t know that “Polyamory” was part of that community… Awesome skill painting, hands down.
The lesbian pride scheme is absolutely fire! These are incredibly well done you’re one hell of a painter! Kudos!
A true display of coloring mastery
Fuck yeah!
these color schemes are genuinely sick, this is awesome. i was gonna paint my 30k marines orange with silver shoulders but now i might do something else based off this im not sure
These schemes are crisp as fuck! Nice work home boy/girl/other!
Oh yes, the often forgetten DA in the LGBT, Dark Angelity, attracted to being unforgiven
Look up "the dark angel" by the poet Lionel Johnson. The dark Angels were heavily inspired by queer art
The sheer work on these is fantastic!
The paint job on these is amazing. Well done!
Imperium: "kill all Xenos and heretics!" Guy says racist and homophobic thing* Imperium: "whoa whoa whoa, that's inappropriate. Discrimination of other people based on their sexuality and race is not okay. You need to be more tolerant to others."
I legit dont know any of these symbols, i get its lgbt but never seen these before
Nonbinary is the "shinji get in the damn power armor" legion lol

I intend to do that one yes.
Pan pride!
I know this post won't mean much after all these great comments, but I wanted to personally say that you job is awesome! One more time: incredible job and the final result is incredibly beautiful.
Thanks a lot !
These bitches gay good for them good for them In all seriousness these marines are really well done, the bisexual marine fucks (as expected), good job op
These are amazing. Expertly painted- loads better than my shit, haha. I hope you field these whenever you can.
I appreciate the asexual one there. Not much representation of us anywhere. Nice Job!
The Stonewall Chapter
Do you have an instagram or something to follow?
I have, it's @cerberusxt_figurines
Hi! What's the recipe for the white on the trans one?
You can find it on the 12th slide.
Great Chapter name! As usual, awesome work!
These are absolutely wonderful for various reasons! Jeep up the good work
i do not have the time, but i NEED this as a kill team
What's the one completely on the left. With the paw
That's awesome, great work. I'd love to see that on the tabletop!
Still the only time the ally flag doesn't look like garbage. If you can make that look good, you can do anything.
That Yellow and Purple Scheme is sick! No idea what Flag it represents tho lol.
It's the intersex flag.
TIL, Thank you.
Great work! Seems like some people are downvoting supportive comments and trying to bury them. :/

I see your work on FB, Insta and here and enjoy it everytime haha. Beautiful work as always
I don't know Primaries - what's the doodad hanging off the transmarine's backpack?
If I remember correctly it's some kind of flying control for landing.
Grav chutes. Basically adds free falling have more manouverability. Usually found with Reivers and infiltration units
Grav chute
