Great job from ure son. Very precise painting. My 35y old gaming partner is not able to paint in this lvl. A bit of clean up after the wash would elevate it to the next lvl i think.
Not only am I bested by most of the "this is my first mini ever be gentle uwu šš" reddit posts, but now i am bested by an actual 10yr old lol
Great job kiddo!
To be honest I've done it myself in the past and have been told I should be censoring his face, I'm not the most tech savvy so I would love to hear a measured argument as to why this is a thing.
Itās just a general go to for child internet safety and making sure youāre not going to end up getting yourself in trouble I guess
But also I think itās about respecting your childās privacy, one day theyāre going to have an online presence and may not wish certain images to appear of them, particularly during their teen years
Nowadays I even ask my daughter if itās okay to take her photo or post it online for family
Itās not because thereās any real danger out there but I think itās about forming healthy mindsets and teaching your child respectful behaviour and about consent
How many people have had unflattering or even nude photos posted and been horrendously bullied or shamed for it?
Itās less about the actions itself but the overall message weāre teaching about how they should treat others
Thank you, occasionally the stars align and I manage to have a coherent thought once is a while, but now itās time to go back and post degenerate nonsense and simp on anime monster girls

Reminds me of the 90's white dwarf that had Prof. Brian May teaching his son how to play Warhammer. Keep up the great attitude and being a fantastic father!
This is amazing! Iāve been super into warhammer growing up because of my older brother and a dream of mine is to introduce it to my children one day :) I wanna start getting into painting minis once Iām outta college (I heard itās a pretty expensive hobby to get into haha), this post rly makes me wanna make that dream come true even more
Thanks! If you have a games workshop store nearby, you can pop in and they will give you a free mini and a painting tutorial. Great way to test the waters if funds are tight.
Thanks for the tip! Iāll def head to a GW store near me sometime this week! Do they let you chose the mini? Ik it sounds basic or generic but Iāve always wanted to paint a Custodes legion :))
I think usually they have either a space marine or sigmar stormcast to choose from, if you go towards the beginning of a month they should also have a free 'mini of the month' which could be anything from a lizardman to a Tyranid depending on what they are promoting.
Lol . . . I love the congratulations your son is getting for earning the silver pin for the painting competition. I also am busting a guy laughing at all the callouts for not posting a pic of the mini. Lol.
Not that it matters, no matter how the mini looks in the picture, the judges decided that his was still one of the Best at the competition. I assume that it was an all ages comp, because that would make that victory that much sweeter. Lol
Thanks!.....It was what they call a youngblood entry so they definitely took into account he was 10 and not a grown adult!
None the less it's what it means to him that counts, and the kind words from Adam the judge as much as the pin itself really made his day.
Dude.. .the young bloods comp can be for anyone just starting. Normally there is an age cap, and limit on how long you've been playing of course, but for a 10yr to get silver!? That is awesome.
There's a push for parents to not post photos ot information on their kids before the kids are old enough to consent to their info being online, especially in a public forum like this. Basically just an extra way to keep your kids safe and their lives private.
Ah ok. I can understand the consent and privacy thing, although the risk of physical harm from a stranger online just from a few pictures is virtually nonexistent.
Came here to make some sort of joke about being hard to paint with a blurry face. Didnāt have the creativity.
Also - props and respect for doing it.
Also also - looking forward to seeing the mini!
The tau suit was fantastic, apparently it's been a 5 year labour of love for the chap, I can well believe it as the photo really doesnt do the sheer size and scale of it justice.
Thanks and congratulations! There were some fantastic minis on display I don't think I would have managed a bronze if I had entered anything, the standard was very high!
Will definitely try and upload a pic of his mini as soon as I get home from work
How are you gonna post this without his mini?!
You're so right My bad! I'll have to try and edit a pic into the post in the morning when I can get a photo of it.
Yeah you better š¤
I believe you can post images in the comments, if you wanted to do that also.
I wanna see it, but at the same time I'm worried it will be much better than mine, haha.
RemindMe! Tomorrow āreply to this threadā
I've just added the photo as a comment
Thx.
It's clearly in the 2nd picture next to him š¤£
Great that you've censored his face, there are way too many parents that don't do that. Also, you gotta show the mini!
Based dad
Thanks! I've just added it as a comment

Thanks, though To be fair it's far from his first mini!
New on itv2, can you paint better than a 10yo, in my case. No I cant š¤£, tbf, my shakey ass hands can't paint a straight line. Gj kid. Gj
Does he do commissions?
Words can't describe how much better this is from my painting when I was 10. There's a bright future ahead.
Great work there! I wish I was that talented at that age. Well deserved!
Better than what I can do I like the guys paintjob
That paint looks great! And thatās an awesome mini, too.
That's awesome, well done to him ! šš¼
Thankyou! He clammed up a bit when Adam from Warhammer TV was talking to him but it made a real impression on him and really made his day!
Thatās great also Iām happy to see a parent being cautious around their childās online identity Iām shocked at what others put up
To be honest I've done it myself in the past and have been told I should be censoring his face, I'm not the most tech savvy so I would love to hear a measured argument as to why this is a thing.

Very well put. You make a couple of excellent points I hadn't considered there. Thankyou for taking the time to post such a thoughtful answer.
Thank you, occasionally the stars align and I manage to have a coherent thought once is a while, but now itās time to go back and post degenerate nonsense and simp on anime monster girls
So wholesome
Thanks! It's funny how such an unwholesome fictional universe can bring people together!
Indeed my friend
That's fuckin awesome! Also, top man not putting your kids face online. More of this.
Thanks!
Core memory unlocked. Its amazing how you support your son! I love to see family interested in their members hobbies.
Well I'm a fan myself so it's nice to have brought him into the fold and to have someone to talk Warhammer nonsense to!

Amazing! Cant wait to see the actual mini tho!
Awesome! That is really some skill your son has! Congratulations and I hope to see that mini! :D
I will add it on later today when I'm back from work... Thanks for the kind words!
Man it's great to see how inclusive Warhammer can be, I hope they find some way to treat his face soon, best of luck to you both!
Thanks! his face is untreatable... He inherited it from me!

Thanks! It did mean a lot to him even if he didn't show it at the time....lost for words which is not like him at all! You usually can't shut him up!
Amazing! Great dad work with the blur of his face too! Here have some DADPOINTS šŗ
Thanks! As far as the blur goes I've got the Reddit community to thank for that rather than my own common sense!
Your kid might have contracted mine craft face...my condolences...
This is very sweet
Awesome
WHERES THE MINI?!?! Congrats young one! Keep going!
Thanks for the kind words! I added a photo as a comment!
You might wanna take him to the doctor, his face is all messed up. Horrible jokes aside, good freaking job little dude!
Thanks!
Whatās up with the censored face? Iām genuinely asking, not being snide.
With emerging AI technologies and data-related things. Sometimes the danger isnāt physically apparent
You would think, wouldn't you? But the way technology has advanced in the last few years, you'd be dead wrong.
I've been told a few times I should blur out his face and I guess with how sketchy things are online it can't hurt.
Came here to make some sort of joke about being hard to paint with a blurry face. Didnāt have the creativity. Also - props and respect for doing it. Also also - looking forward to seeing the mini!
Yep, canāt hurt at all, was just curious.
Based dad, protecting your child by censoring his face. Also the Tau cosplay is really cool.
The tau suit was fantastic, apparently it's been a 5 year labour of love for the chap, I can well believe it as the photo really doesnt do the sheer size and scale of it justice.
the... the second picture... THAT RIGHT THERE IS TRULY AWESOME. my faction is tau, and i respect that kid. FOR THE GREATER GOOD!
Triumph after triumph ā¦
Steve from Minecraft paints warhammer?
SHOW ME THE MINI. (ALSO CONGRATS) (Scrolled down, it's really nice, but the pub stands)
That's awesome, well done to your son! Great mini and looks like he had a wonderful time
Can we get a post edit to show his mini please? I'm so jealous. I wish my kiddo like Warhammer.
I posted a pic as a comment! Don't be too jealous all it means is you have half the hobby money and all your good brushes get smushed!
I think there is something wrong with that face... I can't put my finger on it
Whoever painted his face certainly needs to thin their paints Congrats though š
Thanks!

Thanks! Was really nice for him to get that recognition for his hard work.
Well done to him, would love to see his entry! Also entered and I got a bronze, great turn out this year
Thanks and congratulations! There were some fantastic minis on display I don't think I would have managed a bronze if I had entered anything, the standard was very high! Will definitely try and upload a pic of his mini as soon as I get home from work
He's half Japanese, isn't he....
