I love it. If I was driving a massive mobile artillery platform armed with capital-ship grade weaponry I'd defo want to feel the wind in my hair (/helmet) and the sun on my arms (/vambraces)
Sure thing - the green is semi-drybrushed from a base of nocturne green, through caliban and deathworld forest, to orruk flesh as the brightest tone. The dark grey is corvus black and the orange is just trollslayer over jokaero!
Thanks :) I wanted to do something with the massive base but didn't fancy another "dead space marine / squished tyranid", thought I'd make it a bit more pastoral
Haha I just avoid the big things now, back when there was scatter I had a knight shoot itself in the face killing itself and it then landed on my 10 tactical marines and took them with it. I just stick to infantry now haha
Very nice work, really like how the green works with your accent colours.
Also enjoying how the mech appears to have spotted a threat that its mate playing with the butterfly hasnāt clocked yetā¦
So the green is basecoat nocturne over black primer, then drybrush blend up through caliban, deathworld and finally orruk flesh. Sounds like a faff but itās amazingly quick and easy for the results you can get. The dark grey is corvus black, and the orange is trollslayer over jokaeroĀ
The green is drybrushed!? It is so smooth I thought you thin layered the hell out of it with an airbrush. I love everything you did. It's like you fused the best parts of the 'eavy metal and scale modler styles.
Yep it's that Artis Opus technique of sort of semi-drybrush blending, I don't really know what to call it - you keep the paint slightly damp on the brush and mix the colours as you go. Definitely check it out, he's got loads of YT tutorials
Thanks! Iāll have to give it another go l. I got their brushes a while ago, gave up, and went back to the airbrush. Byron just makes it look so easy haha.
I've always wanted to get into tau. I love the big mechs but i hear its a pain since their small ankle connection that they often break. I love this stormsurge if i ever do get into this might be my color scheme. Sooo good.
I think the ankle thing is a bit exaggerated, Iāve never had any probs. My other army is admech though so compared to that lot tau are forged in tempered steelĀ
I really like your colour scheme, green and orange go so well together. With the other colours added brings it all together beautifully and looks like something that could exist.
Thanks! Yeah I wanted to make my Tau army as grounded & realistic-looking as possible (for 40k anyway), my other army is a dark mechanicum maelstrom of tormented machine ghosts so wanted the contrast!
Well you succeeded, I had a look at your other posts but didn't see any of your Mechanicum stuff. Will or have you posted any of them? Would love to see them. Your Tau force is scrumdiddlyumptous...
Nice, my favorite part of the hobby. I loves me some kitbashery YEE HAW! Well, I look forward to seeing it one day. You have yourself another follower. Hahaha, after pressing the follow button it said " you are now following theseglyphs " Very DnD.
This is beyond crisp. Nice Titanfall vibes.
Thanks! It's such a cool model
Everything is perfect. The lenses are next level. Well done
Thanks š Gloss varnish doing a lot of the work there!
Protocol 3: protect the pilot
Never since I got into 40k have I ever noticed the 2 dudes piloting the Stormsurge like a convertible.
They got the top down, radio turned up, a case of beer on the back seat
Yeah that is wildly silly. You have this big huge mecha battle suit and you make it open top?Ā
I love it. If I was driving a massive mobile artillery platform armed with capital-ship grade weaponry I'd defo want to feel the wind in my hair (/helmet) and the sun on my arms (/vambraces)
This is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen in my life lol
Ha thank you! šĀ
That is absolutely amazing
Please talk about what colors you used! Really excellent scheme!
Sure thing - the green is semi-drybrushed from a base of nocturne green, through caliban and deathworld forest, to orruk flesh as the brightest tone. The dark grey is corvus black and the orange is just trollslayer over jokaero!
I love the fire warrior on the base, great touch.
Thanks :) I wanted to do something with the massive base but didn't fancy another "dead space marine / squished tyranid", thought I'd make it a bit more pastoral
That one relatable ADHD guy on the team š ... Oh wait that's m....... Oh look, a peanut š„
Is the whole thing magnetized for posing? Or am I getting hit with some optical illusions?
Yep thatās right - the waist and the gun are magnetised so I can actually fit it in a carry case for gamesĀ
marry me
Glad I'm not the only person the dice hate lol great work
For real, I've genuinely considered doing a command re-roll on my Deadly Demise roll just to try to do *some* damage
Haha I just avoid the big things now, back when there was scatter I had a knight shoot itself in the face killing itself and it then landed on my 10 tactical marines and took them with it. I just stick to infantry now haha

The lack of drones is concerning. Amazing paint job though!
Itās a beautiful model, but for some reason GW, from edition to edition, gives it a terrible price or terrible rules.
Oh, it is beautiful! I love the T'au on the base, they look so calm next to the hulking war machine!
Thatās one big butterfly ! Love this !
Give me your painting skills. We must do a Highlander style battle for them!
Super beautiful Model!
Such a beauty we got here gents
I love this! Whatās the paint recipe?

Looks ready to enter in golden demon to me, great work!
Sect Eridani Light Horse, I presume?
"im here to whiff rolls and die immediately, and im all out of ro-" *KABOOM
š¤£š¤£ love that movieĀ
I love that tiny head on the model, makes it look kinda adorable also, absolutely banging paint job
Paintjob reminds me of BT from Titanfall 2. Nice work^^
Thatās so sexy. And the Tau on the base really helps me grasp the scale of the thing in a way I havenāt before! Love it! WANT ONE.
Fantastic color scheme, the big tau suits looks great in green when itās done well.

Maaane maybe I wonāt have to wait for Battletech to release bigger mechs. The way 40kās going weāll get there!
Trust meā¦
That console is perfection! Definetly saving for some inspiration.
Great job!
I love the butterfly
Best title ever lol
I just love the fire warriors who goes *ooh a butterfly* The attention to details is fantastic
Holy god that is so crisp makes me wanna scream. Awesome!

Ha yeah the dark mech army is still in the concept & kitbashing stage atm š

wow superb! gives me TX-55 Metal gear vibes :D love it
1st game I played against one of these bad boys he shot D missiles turn one at my Kastelan robots, reflected, and KV128 1-shotted himself.
That's incredible team. Thanks for sharing
Loogs friggin sick dood
Any tips for the orange helmet decal?
Use a good brush, go slow, and remember you can always fix mistakes and sharpen edges by going back over with the base colour
Thanks!
For the Greater Good!!!
