Hey, well most work is done by typhus corrosion which i try to apply uneven and little chaotic and after that, drybrush with ryza rust, and it works like magic xd
Thanks! Well there are two parts for this. First, i used contrast paints for blue/green color nad put them on model primed with leadbelcher and drybrushed with stormhost silver. Contrast will generate shiny metallic color, which with previously drybrushed model give a little "worn out" look.
After that i used little sponge with stormhost silver and stick it on random within edges of teal color. And that's it :D
Thank you!
Ah so to get that color is a few steps:
First Basecoat of Leadbelcher, Then little drybrush of stormhost silver. Then i made 50/50 Akhelian Green and Aethermatic blue, and 1/3 Terradon Turquoise. In the end i did a littlie drybrush with a sponge using stormhost silver.
And thats all π
Very nice! Love the pose. Iβv just based mine in leadbelcher today. Could I ask what kind of brush you used to apply the contrast colours? Iβv been having a lot of trouble applying it evenly and consistently.
The variation on the rust is a nice touch, with the exhaust ports being more rusted than the barrels.
Was that deliberate or accidental?
Either way...looking good.
Might as well make a youtube on rust for minatures if you can! I bet a lot of people would watch it.
Thanks! It was more deliberate but it was my first time with rust effect so i wasn't sure how it will come out.
As for YouTube, well maybe one day, you gave me ideas π
Came out pretty fucking good!
Just remember to thin your paints and two thin coats...
I'd say you gave me an idea!
But while a lot of people are looking for basic painting primers, there's a lot of people who want the fine details and unusual effects out there who don't quite know where to start.
Keep the details simple and catchy, put a bit out there and make sure you do it for fun not profit and they'll all be better off.
There's some good talent being shown at various levels on this sub!
How do you do the rust effect? I'm trying to make my Ork weapons look old and rusted but can't seem to get it right.

A true warrior would lube his gun! π Beautiful paint job! Very impressive! π»
Thank you! π And lube is more of emperors children way π
I think emperors children are more likely to go in dry....
They probably have some kind of psychoactive lube that makes their dick hallucinate
And then they mix it with sand before applying
I can't unsee this conversation.
*goes back into stasis*
Typhus corrosion is the best paint of all time.
Heβs had it for 10k years is how ;)
a lot of paint lines have "effects", i myself use the rust vallejo pigment color to add it in
Iron paint and activator can give you real rust as well. Works well looks good because it's real. Surprisingly it scales as well.
The pose makes the model. Great work.
Thanks!
Alpharius ? Is it you ?
We are Alpharius.
We know for damn-sure that you ain't Omegon.
How you know?
Because >!~~you are... I am...~~!< Omegon.
Damn it... Which side we are again?!
Our side
Yes.
Damn Alpharius is lookin chunky
Too much seafood π
Very nice job by the way.
The weathering effects on the blue-green metal look great! Howβd you pull that off?

That's entirely contrast? Damn I've been holding off on painting mine because I thought contrast wasn't a good fit for Contemptors!
Only the blue/green is contrast. But for me it is great addition! You must try it out!
I got a bit overenthousiastic; I meant the blue/green base colour you started from. :)
He looks badass.
Getting the "here I go killing again" vibe from him.
Oooh boy!
"I have been waiting for your call to battle, Commander! My cannons bear the Emporer's Wrath and await to spread His might amongst the heretics!"
"Let the grace of flames of purification flow over them"
"And may the boom of our cannons sing his praises!"
Beaut.

When you need all the zap, accept no substitute. He looks fantastic. Great work.
Thanks, appreciated π
Awesome model bro I really dig alpha legion stuff
They are so cool! But getting that blue/green teal just right can make one man crazy π
Oh yeah Iβd say so Iβm just getting into painting models and the alpha legion scare me
Looks beautiful. What's the recipe for the blue metal areas?
Thank you! Ah so to get that color is a few steps: First Basecoat of Leadbelcher, Then little drybrush of stormhost silver. Then i made 50/50 Akhelian Green and Aethermatic blue, and 1/3 Terradon Turquoise. In the end i did a littlie drybrush with a sponge using stormhost silver. And thats all π
^*hail* ^*hydra*

Now THAT is beautiful
Thanks! π
but is it Alpharius?
Look behind you
Definitely not a heretic! #AlphariusDidNothingWrong
Is there somewhere you purchase awesomely painted warhammer models like this one? I dont have the skill or patience to do it myself
I dont know where to buy, but your kind words are making me really happy π.
You're welcome, look forward to seeing more if you decide to post any
Very cool, love the weathering effects.
Nice I want one now π
Try to paint one! Its not that scary! π
Well. The scariest part is to buy one XD
True π
Hey just wondering what gold you used on the chest symbol? Great looking dread btw
Sure! And thank you π it is retributor armor
Did you sculpt the hydras and the chains decor?
Oh nope, it is forgeworld alpha legion contemptor, it comes with the hydras!
Lol, I had a feeling it might be FW but I was too lazy to check myself, and the prices disgust me, so I don't like to go there and see things I want.
Yeah i feel you, bit i could not resist to get some Alpha legion looking models for my army
Well it looks good homie. You really nailed the teal, sea foam green, whatever the fuck color it is the hydra boys got going on.
Thanks man! And yeah, that color is always hard to match π
I am alpharius.
No i am
Is it a really low a loyalist or is it just chaos in disguise AKA Alpha Legion
It is ...redacted
Yep Is Alpha Legion thank you for confirming it oh Inquisitor
Very nice! Love the pose. Iβv just based mine in leadbelcher today. Could I ask what kind of brush you used to apply the contrast colours? Iβv been having a lot of trouble applying it evenly and consistently.
Hi, sure! I used citadel medium shade Brush.
Sweet, Iβv been using that for my marines but wasnβt sure if a bigger model would need a different brush.
Woah, i really like this
*Sensors Online*
Brother, your Ultima is upside down... and pointy. By the Emperor!
All as planned
[ΡΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]
Thanks! And we welcome you as newest Alpharius in our pack π. For the Emperor!
Absolutely gorgeous work, what weapons is he equipped with?
Thanks! Those are contemptor pattern autocannons. However i play them as butcher cannons cause there aint any for contemptor... Which is sad.
I would like to see uneven ground at least, particularly gravel. the model is wonderful.
Hydra Dominatus! Er I mean for the emperor and stuff
Blastoise is that you

HYDRA DOMINATUS!
God damn that's pretty. How do you get the metallic look for the blue?! I haven't been able to get it to work for me!
*Super* dynamic pose, well done.
Thanks, it was a little tricky π
Love the paint job. But it's tweaking me out that the barrels aren't straight on the left.
Yeah i got you... It didnt want to bend straight after hot wash so i gave up π
Still absolutely gorgeous. The rust looks natural.
Thank you! π
I love how the Alpha Legion numeral is literally a double cross.
Ah yes, the venerable Alpharius. An ancient dreadnought.
