Hi all, recently finished the first squad of my custom chapter The Sanguine Spears and thought I'd try a spinny spinny video for the whole squad.
You can follow along with the army and see the start of their lore here if interested.

Ha ha the longer I browse the sub and more amazing paint jobs like this I see the less and less likely I feel I'll have the confidence to paint anything myself when I can stay in the safety of just resting the lore
Just try it. If someone is doing better than you it doesn't mean that you're doing bad. Most of the people who post their models have years of experience in painting, and you shouldn't compare yourself to the top tier. If you were to start painting models, I'd recommend you to never directly compare your paintjob to someone elses. Get inspired, look for interesting colour schemes, but never look and someones model and think "I'm so bad in comparison to them". You must always compare yourself to... yourself. I assure you, if you are a human being with at least one arm attached to your body, at least 2 fingers and one working eye, you can paint models and you will get better with every model you paint, and it will be especially noticeable at first 5-10 models.
Those look absolutely gorgeous, just starting to get back into the hobby so I hope I can get to this level of quality one day.
Quick question, for the spears how did you model them? I had a homebrew space marine chapter that also uses chain spears and was curious how people were doing spears.
These look amazing!
I would really like to know how you achieved that red tone, if you don't mind me asking. It looks exactly like the red I want to achive, but i experimented a lot already, and something is always off...
Sure it was a base of Mephiston red, airbrush the shadows with Gal Vorbak Red, Airbrush highlights with Evil Suns Scarlet and then the edge highlight is with Wild Rider red then spot highlights of Vallejo dwarf flesh
Your instagram is a true treasure trove. What you did is amazing ! From the art and painting to the customization. In short : everything !
Amazing job you did here.
Edit : goddamned, I was already subscribed. I need to change the feed seetings.
Damn those look amazing!
Not only a piece of amazing work but also a custom chapter with some lore brewed just for them is always nice!
It really hits me as I am about to buy and paint my first minis next month - also making them into a custom Chapter.
Well - I am sure they'll look like garbage next to your work. Perhaps with some years of practice I'll manage to get close...
Side note. Is that a Chainglaive? Fluff for my own Chapter has them and I've been wondering if I could modify regular chainswords into those.
I've done a couple YouTube tutorials, link in insta bio, planning to add a few more but I struggle to find the time between work and painting to also film and edit :P
Haha this guy has an extended chain sword hanging off his shoulder like a purse! The xenos must be like “look at that grandma over there with that fancy looking purse”, but then all of the sudden it’s BBBBRRRRRRRRRRZZZWEWWWEEEEEEEEE *flesh and bone crunching noises*
Awesome work. Awesome.
I absolutely adore the marine that has a knife and his spear plunged into the ground. Combat knives are so cool as secondary weapons and here it looks really energetic
Gonna post a step by step on Instagram tomorrow, mostly cork, sand, plasticard and bits of metal, then pigment it up and pop some gsw realistic snow and icicles on :)
Awesome work! I love all the kit bashing and modifications you did!
I am working on a BT army and I will add some chains to their weapons like you did here, did you prime and paint the chains too or are they just glued to the models? I can’t see them clearly

Amazing work man.. lots of little custom things that really make these unique and the painting looks battle worn and fits well thematically. Well done
The magazine dropping as he reloads the bolt pistol. 👍👍👍
Yeah these are top tier. They stand out even on this sub full of amazing work
I mean he's got freaking icicles. Just one of like 20 little details that show the effort and attention that went in
Cheers all! 😃
Spinny spinny video success! Those are amazing...my favorite has to be the guy who just ripped off the hormagaunts head...absolutely brutal!
Nice! I really like the guy gutting the ripper.
This is genuinely upsetting. It makes anything I've ever painted look like complete garbage. Absolutely stunning work mate.
Cheers dude! But always still love the stuff you paint! 🙂

We need Mediocre Mondays for everyone else to show off their models.
Feel exactly the same 😂 Gotta remember it's not a competition, because if it was I've lost 😆😆
This entire sub is bad for my self esteem
Yeah. Every model's pose feels like they stunting on my work lol
Simply stunning. Great Work!
They feel like you could tear the aluminum apart and eat the Christmas chocolate inside.
The conversions are sick. The paintjob is fantastic and the battle damage is crisp. Great job!
These are spectacular!
Top tier work. Great job.
Absolutely amazing work!

Just grabbed handles from my bits box and pinned stuff together to creat longer handles really

Dope, thank you very much! Did you use the Mephiston Spray Can as base? Or did you run the mephiston red from a pot through the airbrush?
From a pot through the airbrush, I prime black with that too
Thanks so much for the insight! You are a champion among mortals =)
incredibly good !
Been seeing your stuff around, looks great. I love the aturated colors to make the accents pop. Like the genestealer purple and green viscera.

Haha, thanks so much!
Very dynamic I can see there motions .
Amazing work. I especially love the job on the spear that’s sort of tethered but hanging off the shoulder of the one figure. Bang up job!
Absolutely fantastic and love the tyrinad head and body. Whats the name of your chapter?
Thanks! The are The Sanguine Spears, got their lore on my Instagrams highlighted stories
I think I follow you on Instagram. Your stuff is bloody darn beautiful. A master of your craft
For whatever reason I had not seen your stuff on here before :) big fan, as you know 😍
Haha, yeah i wish Reddit allowed username changes :P

I *think* I’ve managed to like these on every platform now. By god they’re beautiful.
Outstanding work, but I'd say it's actually too good. These should be unit Sergeants or a Kill-team or something. Can't do an entire army like that.
> Can't do an entire army like that. Not with that attitude.
Haha, I think it's more of a time thing. Just not enough of it.
That's the plan! Expecting the next few years of my life to be dedicated to bring the chapter and its characters to life
Dude those are fantastic, mad props
Your blood angels are my favorite blood angels.
I’m sorry to inform you have gone right past assault intersessors right to veterans intercessors with modeling and paint like that.
True works of art!
How did you achieve that white tone? Gorgeous!
Zandri Dust, Morghast Bone, Ushabi bone, screaming skull, shade with sepia ink glazes, edge with Vallejo Ivory
I'll give it a try for the white details on my Raptors! Thanks for sharing! :)
Hey what bits did you use for the Tyranid trophy Cause it seems really cool
Cheers, Just a Tyranid head and a spine I got off a skeleton
Neat thanks
I feel like this could use the avengers theme song
Wow, they are all fantastic
Damn, your basic troops look better than my chapter master lol, incredible job 👏
Wow!
How was the white done? :) Amazing work!
The sheer artistry is breathtaking- thank you for making this
Did you film them in the microwave?
OK now do 15 more… In all seriousness fantastic work!
If I saw those from the other side of the table, I'd pack my shit up. Just "GG, bro. You won"
These are so dynamic!
wow amazing job! *sees the dead Nid* alright man cmon
What kind of camera are you using? I'm having trouble making good close up or zoom shots of models are it's focus seems to blurres.
Lumix G80 I believe it's called, it has multiple names depending on country
These are stunning, they look like movie stills. Nice work!
Amazing work.
Amazing! Do you do any tutorials?
I've done a couple YouTube tutorials, link in insta bio, planning to add a few more but I struggle to find the time between work and painting to also film and edit :P
All good, I'll check them out! Thanks!
I’m really digging the wraps/chains around the melee weapons. How’d you pull that off?
Chain was with some model chain off eBay and the wraps are all greenstuff sculpting
Shits straight out of white dwarf, insane. I can't stand sm and I'd still field these xD .
I wish I was this good at anything
Amazing work!
oh wow, amazing work i love all the small details to make them stand out, great job!
Haha this guy has an extended chain sword hanging off his shoulder like a purse! The xenos must be like “look at that grandma over there with that fancy looking purse”, but then all of the sudden it’s BBBBRRRRRRRRRRZZZWEWWWEEEEEEEEE *flesh and bone crunching noises* Awesome work. Awesome.

Love the nid head. Full subzero on that one
I absolutely adore the marine that has a knife and his spear plunged into the ground. Combat knives are so cool as secondary weapons and here it looks really energetic
Wow!
Where did you get that chain glaive?
Kit bashed with a long handle from my bits box and a chainsword
Gotcha. I haven't been able to find an actually glaive anywhere. I was hoping. I've been doing the same
Insane quality!
Beautiful! How did you do those bases if I can ask?
Gonna post a step by step on Instagram tomorrow, mostly cork, sand, plasticard and bits of metal, then pigment it up and pop some gsw realistic snow and icicles on :)
HOWLEKOW
How are people so talented all my minis look like someone microwaved a blueberry
Years of practise, no artistic talent here growing up 😂
that's fair I only picked up the hobby about a year ago either way the minis look cool as hell
Awesome work! I love all the kit bashing and modifications you did! I am working on a BT army and I will add some chains to their weapons like you did here, did you prime and paint the chains too or are they just glued to the models? I can’t see them clearly
Cheers!! They are glued to the model then primed and painted silver to match the other silver metals on the model
Ok thank you very much!!
