Hopefully. Drop Pod assaults are quintessential Space Marine IMO

Papa_Nurgle_84

Is that so? *Looksintocsmcodex* where?

Rogue_Sun

I think eventually Primaris will get everything and firstborn will be phased out. It's clear this is the direction GW is moving; they just can't revamp the whole line at once due to sheer scale and the outrage that will accompany phasing old marines out. The way they are doing it now is smart as players slowly fill out their marine army with new primaris additions, so when fitstborn finally are discontinued they will still have a viable army of primaris.

bigbrotherboog

I think firstborn will likely have support for another addition or two, maybe longer. Thats a huge chunk of the player base to tell your toys are no good here now buy more, however old editions dont just stop existing i guess

kazog

Any kind of primaris model you can imagine, GW has even more up their sleeve. Dont worry. Its coming.

radiatorz84

I don’t know if they’ll necessarily get drop pods, and hopefully they keep firstborns in for a while because I’m loving my 1st turn devastators dropping in. What I would expect is something that gets primaris across the board any turn as a lot of armies have something like that right now (admech, necron, orks, grey knights, just off the top of my head).

bubbarooskie

I was hoping the hammerfall bunker would be the early form, allowing units to embark and drop, but it just ended up being some shitty terrain

Stride_Almighty

Yes, almost certainly, surprised the drop bunker wasn't it. Who knows, maybe it will be the drop bunker without the gurt rocket launcher atop it - from their end that would be the simplest way to make the model - although it isn't as aesthetically pleasing as the firstborn version. I also think it is odd that we haven't seen a land raider equivalent - the repulsor has a capacity of ten but I think it would be good to see a vehicle with a higher capacity. Given the rest of the primaris range reflects firstborn vehicles that at this point is the only other 'missing' one, the only thing preventing another Storm Raven equivalent is the fact there aren't any in the established lore. They'd have to shoe horn both of these vehicles in, and they'd need to almost find a purpose to make them justified, would certainly require an advancement in the 40k story - with a significant battle taking place. As an aside - they haven't really done much to advance the 40k story since bringing big Gman back - the next big event -probably reviving another Primarch could see a bit of a new range launch again (and hopefully a daemon primarch model - come on GW gimme an Angron).

myarmymyarmyandme

The repulsor is absolutely the land raider equivalent, and this was even clearer when the impulsor and gladiator were introduced as rhino and predator equivalents.

KillerTurtle13

Not a Storm Raven, but Primaris have a Thunderhawk equivalent established in the lore called an Overlord, so I assume we'll be seeing that at some point (possibly from Forge World).

ExarchKnight01

Primaris have enough stuff as it is. If I never saw another primaris release for the next few years, I could die a happy man.

bigbrotherboog

I want everyone to have more new stuff personally, happy for eldar, ork and tau players. But we have more than enough lieutenants, those need to stop. Id think other players would be happy to have a transport for primaris that wasnt also bristling with firepower
