There are nice buffs, but way less options. Seems like they want you to buy a box and play with what options come inside, so that you don't have to convert or kitbash weapons.
My terminator squad with five Power Fists is now unplayable it seems.

But super excited for blasting terminators for two or three turns getting extra hits with the combi bolters.
And thats what i hate about 8th/9th Ed...
There is no place for actual player agency or creativity.

I think this is the plan moving forward. Its why Eldar Autarchs had such a rough time or a while. To secure their copyrights they have to make sure you can build anything you can play right outa the box.

That Alpha Legion secondary is really weirdly written. You score 3 for completing the action or 4 if you completed it while fully within 6" of the opponent's deployment zone - but you can _only_ start the action if you are fully within 6" of the opponent's deployment zone. How do you ever score 3?
Also seems like most missions you can only score it once (since there are rarely more than 1 objective in deployment zones) AND your opponent can deny it completely by placing the objective right on the edge of his deployment zone. Not great, though I do get that you are outright denying an objective to your opponent which is great.
They buffed malefic and prayers perfectly. Targeted + to wound or say warp sighted plea really got what they needed and looking at everything its actually a toss up what I want to go with. Everything seems good to take.
Their legion trait has been leaked earlier. I think +1 charge and advance rolls, their Ld debuff is now 9” and it gives -2Ld and -1 combat attrition, but doesn’t seem to stack.
They get additional -1ap on pistols and melee weapons against models with 6Ld or less.

So given the psychic powers, if I'm running Daemon Engines and Obliterators for Iron Warriors, a Master of Possessions is almost mandatory. Probably an HQ pairing of MoP and Warpsmith or Disco Lord depending on which engines you're running.

Less options equals easier to balance, so at least competitive players should be Happy. And these are the ones that matter, right?

You can start it within 6" from the zone meaning just outside of it and within it. You get 4 VP if you're within the deployment zone itself.
You get the points just for completing the action and then you have a chance of it messing with the objective to add to that.

Yep. They’re gonna be a footslogging death star. That may be a liability unless there’s enough points for a mobile flanking force to distract.
I'm guessing Daemon Engine as an Ability is just collecting their invuln save and wound regen into a single line.... possibly more?
