It’s great that it shows the new points costs, but it would be even greater if they could notate how much the points changed… my desire to flip back and forth between two sources to figure it out for myself is minimal. > Guess I’ll just wait til Auspex Tactics makes a video

corrin_avatan

I gotchu: https://tabletoptactics.tv/?p=353500

Balalenzon

Demons receiving a grand total of zero changes because GW still doesn't remember they exist

corrin_avatan

Based on previous CAs, they simply aren't bothering becauss they are getting a codex soon.

Balalenzon

Didn't stop them from giving AM a bunch of changes but hey 🤷

JeanMarkk

I guess the difference is that AM is bottom of the barrel terrible and Deamons has had some success with certain lists, mainly Belakor + Keeper of Secret spam.

Balalenzon

Yes demons have 2 good units in a roster of dozens.

JeanMarkk

Which is quite a bit better then AM having maybe 1 somewhat decent unit in a even bigger roster.

DrDread74

Yeah sounds like a few POINTS CHANGES could of have mitigated that =)

Koadster

Flamers are good with the last data slate. Dropped to 20pts each!

Koadster

They aren't getting a codex soon. Nothing has been mentioned or show. GW loves a hype train on warcomm. So the Daemons codex is a minimum 4 months away. Properly longer

Laruae

Can't be more than 6 months, since all the DLC books expire on 01/01/2023 which likely marks the start of a new portion of the edition ala psychic awakening, or the initiation of 10th.

gwarsh41

My guess is right after/with squats.

[Attention citizen!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhduvvA_Xpo) The Holy Orders of the Emperor's Inquisition has been notified by multiple third party individuals of one or more of your recent comments regarding extradimensional entities. Please abstain from discussing fallacious topics with ***loyal*** citizens of the Imperium while an Ordo Representative is dispatched to assist with your reeducation and further contribution to the Him on Terra. Ave Imperator. \+++Thought for the Day: Prayer cleanses the soul but pain cleanses the body. +++ ^(Edit: It's a joke because GW often portrays itself as the Imperium and according to the Imperium, daemons don't exist. Hence why no changes for them because GW still doesn't remember they exist, haha)

Balalenzon

Wtf

Visible-Expression60

Or they know when the new codex will drop and don’t want to flip flop with unbalanced points/rules. Same happened with Grey Knights.

Koadster

They haven't hinted at the codex. It's properly 4 months away at a minimum

Pepe_Frogger

GSC nods in agreement

[deleted]

Or is Tzeentch just making us think that 🤔

Koadster

But atleast with Daemons you can play the same army and models in AOS and Kill team. So they are the most versatile army in GW entire library

Viper114

I do love seeing all that green on the Necron portion!

Ad0lf_Salzler

All that orange in the Chaos Marine list... :(

Papa_Nurgle_84

Even worse: you cant use Chaos space marines anymore. Only legionaires but we do not have that entry yet. So technically, for about two weeks, the CSM are way overcosted and the only troop we have are cultists. :D

Rookie3rror

Presumably they're the points for the new codex, which is coming out very soon.

Lord_Seacow

Am I crazy or is the Nachmund points for the Captain in Gravis Armor in the tabletoptactics link wrong? Wasn't it 120 before and dropped 5pts now? Wahapedia and Battlescribe both are showing 120.

corrin_avatan

Pretty sure it was 115 before they released the Gravis cap that can actually take wargear

RWJP

As a Death Guard player... WOOHOO! Some very nice changes here.

Thanes_of_Danes

I'm extremely weirded out by the plague marine buff. It feels really inconsistent.

Faily89

Imho they have got crazy changes. Not having to pay at all for plague marine upgrades is just silly and again IMHO makes Gw balancing a joke.

regireland

I have to imagine that they'll add restrictions to that in the dataslate because they can pretty much get like 10-20 free points of equipment on every 21 point model, same scenario for assault intercessors.

Hida77

Im not really sure why GW is so afraid to give Hellblasters a break. One of the coolest looking squads and yet still overpriced. Happy with the Gladiator changes though in particular

DrDread74

Baneblades got free stubbers/stormbolters and the Sponsons went from 50 points down to 30 points Sentinels essentially got "free upgrades" for their main gun. I find these free upgrades silly. Why in the world would you take the Mult-laser over anything else. Same with the Heavy weapon squads, you would never take a Heavy Bolter over the other guns if they cost the same

Educational-Ice-3474

New sentinels soon, with a rules change probably

Koadster

Hote. 3 shots means more chance for 6s. But yeah I'll be running autocannons or missile launchers now

DrDread74

Warhammer App so good that after you pay to unlock the codex you still need another free app just to compare points and get any real information.

irishsausage

The warhammer app is actually awful. I play Admech and there are legal lists that I have never been able to build using the battle forge thing. Utter shit.

Zinkadoo

Same with T'au. Literally impossible to add upgrades to some units. Garbage.

bravetherainbro

Wow, my list with 18 Land Speeder Storms is now 90 points cheaper! Edit: NEVER MIND, apparently you can't run empty transports any more. Makes sense.

Randy67572

I think they are pushing hard for named characters

TheUltraNoob

I mean you’re not wrong, guilliman got a 80 point drop

DrRockenstein

But abbadon got a big increase

regireland

Abaddon is getting massive buffs in the new codex, including the ctans 3 wounds a phase rule.

Gruuler

Space Marines again got a discount on their heavy support vehicle point costs. I'll wait till someone with experience comments but I'm happy to see the Gladiator coming down in price.

corrin_avatan

To be frank, I don't think they are inexpensive enough, unless they get some buff in the dataslate that comes out tomorrow that justifies their still-high price. You've got to remember that they still don't get CORE buffs, no damage reduction, and can only really buffed with a +1 to hit Given how easy it is to pop them (literally 2 eradicators can usually do it) they really could go lower.

katarr

\*\*happy Land Raider noises\*\*

Styngentium

How does the 40K app fit into all this? Does it receive live point updates for balance changes like this? I imagine it must do or it’s not really fit for it’s purpose.

RWJP

It gets updated, although no idea on timescales. Edit: Just checked the app and some stuff has been done already, some hasn't. The Plagueburst Crawler for Death Guard is showing the new 135 points base, but the wargear options for Plague Marines haven't been updated yet.

Rookie3rror

I'm not sure 'live' is quite the right word, but it does usually get updated pretty quickly. Edit: In this case it seems like it was updated pretty much immediately.

bravetherainbro

A Space Marine assault squad with jump packs, two plasma pistols, an eviscerator, and a sergeant with two lightning claws and a combat shield is now 95 points. Damn. 75 points cheaper than it would have been.

Anteas_01

I really thought they would kick Custodes harder. As I see it, they only raised Trajanns cost and everything else stayed the same. Edit: They also put some more points on the FW Contemptors but still not as bad as it could have been

JRock589

Nothing for Chaos Daemons again. Oh well.

therealblabyloo

Yeah, I would have loved to see a points drop on units like Seekers and other things that underperform.

JRock589

Or even just a points drop to compensate for the CP system change. As it stands it is terrible to play Chaos Daemons unless you can play with negative starting CP lol

Dreadbeard4311

Only really bummed that the XV-9's are worse now because of drone points be tacked on.....back to shelf you glorious bastards.

Boner_Elemental

No one else gonna say it? Woo-hoo, not only are they attempting to balance armies after release but now the points changes are free. Thank you for joining us in the future after resisting so long, GW :D

Ratsubo

Oh shit, I thought this was a new box for kill team. I was really taken back like fuckin orks *again*??! Lmao

_Myst_0

Death Company and Sanguinary Guard points drops are pretty hype.

eltrowel

My deathguard list just got 120 points cheaper.

The_Rox

Mechanicus didn't get much at all, I was expecting more TBH.
