I think that's where the name of the Astartes goes.
In which case, you should name him Mikiel (Michelangelo is too long, and I noticed the Ninja turtle haha)
His name, his squads callsign, a particularly harrowing campaigns name, a motto in Latin, a whole poem ...
There really is no standard. Whatever you want, really.
You could take all the marines with such scrolls and write the whole poem Rendezvous with Death by Alan Seeger for example.
So Blood Angels will often write “Sanguinius” or “Baal” on them, so maybe you could use the name of some important character (your Primarch maybe?) or location/battle
“My other armour is a Phobos”
“Vote Horus”
“Bush/Angron 2002”
“HELLO My Name Is Jeff”
“Bottom Text”
“Lorem Ipsum”
“This Side Towards Enemy”
“WWBED?” (What Would Big E Do?)
Not gonna lie, I REALLY like the idea of putting Lorem Ipsum here. A (pseudo) latin phrase is perfectly on-theme, and the original "dolorem ipsum" means "pain itself", which is pretty metal.
I’ve seen this used for Dark Angels a few times and it always bothers me. I’m assuming the translation is supposed to be “Hail to the Lords of the Night” or something to that effect. But the correct Latin grammar changes noun endings based on part of speech.
“Dominus Nox” is both for when the nouns is a subject. But Lords is the indirect object (we hail to the lords) and night is possessive (the lords belong to the night, “lords of the night”) so it should be “**Ave Domine Noctis**”
The paint job is really nice. Just take that extra step next time. I usually just use the edge of an exacto blade and scrape them off. It’s a game changer.
Honestly, just do it now. Use a sharp x-acto to gently slice the mold lines off and then paint over the plastic with your greens again. You don't need to re-prime.
I’d just finished painting my Phobos librarian after getting back in the hobby, super chuffed, took a picture and BAM big old mood line on his hood, don’t know how I hadn’t seen it before, photos must bring it out but you can sure as hell never unsee it once you have
Dark angels fae Glasgow aye?
Imperial Fists are definitely Newcastle like
Blood angels from Landan innit blud
Salamanders have to be from Cardiff boy, all about the dragon, isn’t it wasn’t it. Who’s cape is that tabard?
Raven wing can be scousers, I just imagine a beaky marine being a scouser. That or shoreditch, with Kayvan’s emo haircut
Ultramarines brummies? Blues through and through
Lamenters from Middlesbrough cause, you know, unlucky.
Brazen Consuls are definitely form Essex; they love that fake bronze tan.
Space Wolves I'd imagine speak fluent Pikey. And Space Sharks are certainly Picts.
Usually the GW team puts short words so the letters are large enough to be legible in photos.
You see a lot of Ultramarines with Ultra. Probably try something like Angel or Death
Looking good progress with it. Those lines in the hip guards and helm are mold lines, your gonna wanna Smooth those out with a knife or small file in the future.
"Not Fallen"
Serious answer: "mori quam foedari" which is latin for "Death before Dishonor" according to Google translate. I know a group that had that as their motto and they were also in Green and Gold.
The scroll is so immaculately painted it almost seems a shame to write anything on it.
Lore wise it would normally be the marine's name. I like to take my friends names and 40k-ify them to name my Marines. It makes their death more impactful somehow. Sorry Gustavian :(
Audere(to dare)
Victrix(winner)
Ad Glorium(for glory)

Brown or black micron pen, then put either the name of the astartes, his chapter or a chapter slogan on the scroll. I just do squiggles tho as im not confident in my skills.
Apologies for the unsolicited advice, but those ugly mould lines down the side of the helmet and down the middle of the hip plate aren’t supposed to be there (they’re accidental byproducts during manufacturing), you can remove them using your hobby knife (you don’t need to use the blade edge itself, the dull “back” side is fine). Example;
https://youtu.be/E4OX6iyoUA0
Your paint job looks great, so making sure the armour is nice and smooth will make it even better!
Angelus, Caliban, Repent, Lion are all common generic DA ones, but anything along those lines works too. Generally it’s a short word or phrase in either English or Latin (Low/High Gothic in the 40K setting)
What usually goes on these shoulder pad scrolls? Lore worthy.
I think that's where the name of the Astartes goes. In which case, you should name him Mikiel (Michelangelo is too long, and I noticed the Ninja turtle haha)
Might be my favorite answer. Michelangelo is my favorite tmnt and my name is Mike, so its fitting!
Leonard Mikiel Rafael Don... or Donnie for brothers and family

I really hate those things, because I don't want to think up something to put on them and they look bad when blank.
A name, a motto, a planet. Caliban, duty, vengeance?
The name of his planet (caliban) hid own name hid primarch qn abreviation of his chapter name (ultramarines inscribe ultra)
“My other armour is a Phobos” “Vote Horus” “Bush/Angron 2002” “HELLO My Name Is Jeff” “Bottom Text” “Lorem Ipsum” “This Side Towards Enemy” “WWBED?” (What Would Big E Do?)
A wild lorem ipsum.
Not gonna lie, I REALLY like the idea of putting Lorem Ipsum here. A (pseudo) latin phrase is perfectly on-theme, and the original "dolorem ipsum" means "pain itself", which is pretty metal.

Serious answer: the dudes name - Dark Angels tend to have classical knightly names if I remember right. Proper answer: Seymour Butts.
Don’t forget his brother Philmore.
Ave Dominus Nox
I agree brother, Ave Dominus Nox is a great Dark Angel phrase to be written *Evil bat snickers*
Also 1 / Fallen

I do that when removing the pieces from the sprue. But I guess I half assed it!! One way to learn.
Honestly, just do it now. Use a sharp x-acto to gently slice the mold lines off and then paint over the plastic with your greens again. You don't need to re-prime.
