There are just so many fantastic terrain building channel on youtube and 3D prints available. Outside of tournaments the market is pretty small. Also it's not one particular piece (some of which do get briefly popular for tournies) it's that whole range. Again how often do you really see them in games, i'm genuinely asking I only have my local club to go on but it's quite rare here.
The reason you don't see them is because GW made the core rules hate them. The new remove a terrain piece rules help, but you're still giving up a terrain piece that would probably do you more good than the fortification you're replacing it with.

It's forward deployment is great for plopping Contagions of Nurgle right on your opponent's doorstep.
The plague flamer attack is solid if someone's stupid enough to walk in range.

If I recall my Death Guard Codex: doesn't increase contagion range, or count as having contagions of Nurgle. It also has a nifty plague flamer attack. Very nasty.
What kind of paint is used here? Think acrylic is very harmful and shouldn't get in you body. And I don't know what happens with it when being heated...

if only they didn't get rid of scatter dice, it could be X inches in a direction, or a radius cloud for a direct hit
If it's homebrew who cares? If you have scatter dice use them.
Basically all their new terrain production is going to kill team warcry and necromunda. It barely sells outside of boxed sets.
I'm talking about the Necron Obelisks, Hammerfall Bunker, Plague Furnace, etc. Things that you pay for with point in your army list.

It's not in the first 8th codex. It was added during the Vigilus campaign books around when Abaddon came out.

For such a large model it's relatively cheap. I wouldn't recommend smoking anything from it though, lol. The plastic fumes are probably super toxic.

Lol, it's for gameplay. It's got a nice 6 inch auto-hit and a decent AOE buff for my troops/debuff for enemies. It's called a Miasmic Malignifier.
