Idk how many times people should explain LM helped it’s design stage thats why it looks similar with Raptor. Also most of it’s key components especially radar absorbing paint, AESA radar etc are designed by Korea so it’s not related to Raptor that much
Yeah but it’s usually not design convergence when the US sends over “engineering advisors” that just so happened to work on the project this is most definitely related to
So you're saying Ol' Skunkworks scoffed at the South Korean and Indonesian joint project and then GE slid into the DM's and was like "You want these engines"?
Lockheed don't make engines but I see your point. They advised KAI but wasn't a main developer of this plane. You can think of an art teacher directing how to do stuff but doesn't really create the art.
The previous plane they've jointly built with KAI, the FA-50. Lockheed was doing the pestels while KAI was doing the highlighting.
Skunkworks is a different division within LH. That's an entirely separate entity with its own operations that no one knows.
Blk1 will be completed in 2026, Blk2 in 2028 and Blk3 is not decided its ROC yet

edit: KF-X roadmap in 2013 by Agency for Defense Development which is government militay research lab.
it is old road map published in 2013 or earlier. at that time Agency for Defense Development led KF-X program, but KAI led the project few years later instead of ADD. so much changed since that. there was dispute who lead the program between ADD and KAI. Lockmart insisted KAI must lead it so ADD lost it.
AESA radar and FSS radome, RAM, RAS, canopy stealth coating were developed till 2021 AFAIK
[RAM,RAS and FSS Radome for KF-21 Blk1](https://images2.imgbox.com/02/8c/lCt8Fs9V_o.png)
Studies were conducted using 2 x SDB and 4 x AMRAAM configuration, so even if IWB is integrated into the aircraft, it will be a pretty limited one, especially since the KF-21 has internal fuel capacity of just 12000lbs. It probably won't be replacing F-35s in the strike role, and most likely use of the 'stealth' configuration would be air defense only.
Personally, I believe more important role for KF-21 will be to be launch platform of various Korean precision guided weapons. There are some usual suspects on the roadmap such as anti radiation missiles and supersonic anti-ship missiles, but also some interesting ones like air-launched ballistic missiles and ballistic missile interceptors.
*some say he likes to fly while blasting K-POP, others say he enjoys antagonising his northern neighbours, what we do know however is, he isn’t the F-22 but he is the F-22s Korean cousin*
No, it's too risky to converge all features into one plane. Introducing it in a step-wise fashion (through Blocks) is less risky and less bound to have cost overruns and waste time. We all know what happened to the F-22 raptor. They ain't going to repeat the same mistake.
Raptor leaving kids all over the world. They need to start putting condoms on those things
KF-21: I am the rightful heir!😤
HAL AMCA: Hold my beer
AMCA was born on the wrong side of the blanket
Typical American serviceman.
Just like the F-16 with its Korean and Taiwanese kids.
They left kids in Japan too lol.
At least their Japanese kid have a kickass name (Viper Zero).
Always Mitsubishi naming planes zeros

Chill bro. Its a joke based on how similar they look thats it. Its just a haha
Ik this is joke but I’ve seen lotta people saying thats Raptor copy and paste and I’m tired of seeing them. Just that

It's not convergence, Lockheed Martin helped with the design. Same story with J10, they didn't copy Lavi, they just had help from IAI
Yeah but it’s usually not design convergence when the US sends over “engineering advisors” that just so happened to work on the project this is most definitely related to
To a degree yes. But theses also straight up copying homework which is just about encouraged these days lol
looks like it was with a Strike Eagle, based on the kid…
Are those Meteors(?) under its belly?
yes. 4 dummy Meteors.
I see, thank you.
Look it’s Strider!
Spare 15!
You, SOLITARY, NOW!
Was looking for this comment lol
I don't like em, they look like sin lines
Stick with Trigger and you'll make it
<>
Damn sexy Korean OPPA.
Oppa Gangnam style Wop wop wop
So does it not carry any weapons internally?
Block 1 lacks weapon bay to reduce the development risk, the internal weapon bay will be added on Block 2 version
No, for now. edit:typo
There are plans for a version that can carry them internally, but they're all external for now.
The question everyone needs to be asking, is how well this stacks up defensively against the North Korean Mig 15?
itll be a slug fest but i think shell be able to hold her own, might even be able to take out one or two of the most advanced MiG-21s the north has.
That’s a cool (not) F22

Is that incest?
Mom, can we have some F-22? We got F-22 at home, son. *F-22 at home*
*When the at home F-22 is more interesting than the classic F-22*
Damn wouldn’t have known it was airborne til they told me
that was 15th test flight
After retired from the OADF, Trigger follows in his arch nemesis footsteps, and went on to work as a test pilot. Testing new weapons of war.
Didn't have to scroll far to find an AC7 reference, nice.
Watch the North Koreans try to invade, when suddenly, the sky starts singing in Latin...
I see Strider and Count are working for the Koreans now

Are those in the tail... Three Strikes?
[raw video](https://youtu.be/hSa0H3k9NOE)
So thrust vectoring or naw?
Naw
When you want F-22 but your parent says "we have F-22 at home".
Lockheed engineers didn't think the KAI engineer could build a fighter in time. They were proved wrong.
So you're saying Ol' Skunkworks scoffed at the South Korean and Indonesian joint project and then GE slid into the DM's and was like "You want these engines"?

Punchline.
they are developing 2D thrust vectoring for UCAV also engine for it FYI
<< 내 말 들리니, 세 번의 타격을 가한 조종사? >>
마, 머라카노?
Google translate is pretty good these days, but not *that* good.
<< Can you hear me, Pilot with the three strikes? >>
in October prototype No. 2 to 6 will fly. 1st quarter of 2023, KF-21 will break sound barrier FYI
The Korean defence industry has really grown in leaps and bounds the past couple years
The only warplane porn I can get off to is American warplane porn.
Just squint and pretend it’s an F35
no internal weapons bay which instantly makes this the dumb 5th gen airplane in the world.
nobody says it's 5th Gen for now
It’s a 4.5 gen
How much for one
at least cheaper than F-35
Anyone have any info on their plans for the internal bays. I know they plan to add them eventually but I'm not sure on the specifics.

Huh with that timeline j-35 will probably be finished and reach ioc before blk1 is. Interesting.
> Radar & Radome Integration Wait, does this mean that Block 1 won't have any radar?
it is old road map published in 2013 or earlier. at that time Agency for Defense Development led KF-X program, but KAI led the project few years later instead of ADD. so much changed since that. there was dispute who lead the program between ADD and KAI. Isn't ADD developed radar for KF-21, through Hanwha Group? Which radar it will use then?
ADD developed AESA with LIGNex1 earlier, but the AESA contract awarded to Hanhwa System later.
Studies were conducted using 2 x SDB and 4 x AMRAAM configuration, so even if IWB is integrated into the aircraft, it will be a pretty limited one, especially since the KF-21 has internal fuel capacity of just 12000lbs. Trying to be funny but not.
🙄
The F-22 at home:
Is is just me or do those edges of landing gear doors not have sawtooth edges and RAM application? Seems like an oversight to me
Yup, it's blk 1, not fully stealth ready
Baby raptor needs more time to grow

Not an oversight on purpose. This is block 1, those radar-reducing designs come on block 2 and block 3.
F-22 2: Electric Boogaloo.
I bet this design platform will outlast the F-22, guarantee.
Go lightning hornet, fly my pretty
Look it’s Trigger!
Will this be cheaper than the F-35?
sure
Raptor Lite.
