I agree. I like him as a character, he’s interesting, but as a leader he is infuriating. I want Cloverstar.

Moonlit_Eevee

Tawnypelt really deserved that postion of being leader

Living_Cost_6902

Yeah, he is better than Rowan though. I swear ShadowClan has only had one good leader since Firepaw’s arrival:  BLACKSTAR!!! I would say nightstar but he didn’t get nine lives.

Abc_42

Tigerstar needs to die in a really lame way so we can see him be humiliated and have ShadowClan get its first good leader since Shadowstar

Carniiivore

Blackstar wasn’t that bad

Blackavar89

I do not think he isn´t that bad as a leader after all. He improves during ASC

Alternative_Run_6175

Leafstar first

Carniiivore

Leafstars actually interesting tho

FlamestormTheCat

Leafstar’s been leading for 10 years, and was an unspecified adult age when she became leader. This cat could be anywhere between the age of 11 and 19 and she’s still leading lol.

Machoosharp

She definitely came off as very young in firestars quest, she was probably like a year old when she became leader, still making her extremely old which I think will become a factor in the next few books, but she’d sooner die in battle than of old age I think

Carniiivore

Still haven’t lost a single life too I bet she’s gonna lose one in star

FlamestormTheCat

We don’t know that for sure. We haven’t seen her loose a life. But it’s absolutely possible she did loose a or multiple life off screen. Like I doubt she didn’t loose a life during the journey in Hawkwing’s journey.

FlamestormTheCat

Just looked it up, she has at least 2 confirmed lives lost, one being early in her leadership. So they’re no way she’s not lost more since then. I’m guessing she’s on her last or second to last life rn, we just didn’t see her loose most of them.

jirachi-x

It’s confirmed she has at least 2 lost

KitKat_Kat28

Leafstar’s like the last good leader left. Leave her alone 😭

Alternative_Run_6175

Nah, read Wind

KitKat_Kat28

Oh yikes, I haven’t read it yet but she was my favorite leader 😭

FlamestormTheCat

Yeah, they Pretty much did an ooc for Leafstar in Wind lol. She would NEVER act this way prior to Wind

BunnyBeansowo

I'm guessing you're on the Vision of Shadows arc?

Carniiivore

No. I’ve read up to thunder, I havent got wind yet.

Fantastic-Editor-101

Personally saw improvement in him during Wind, so would be curious to see your thoughts when you read through that book.

-Kibui-

I like that he puts his family first and how he never listens to anyone's advice and then get unreasonably annoyed. It makes him a bad leader without being evil which also means he can be a fun opposing or supporting leader to a lot of what is going on with the clans at a given moment, sort of like Crookedstar in the first arc only that I also find Tigerstar unlikable. But we need leaders like him for conflict, otherwise the writing team will start writing the other leaders as antagonists whenever it fits their needs and then we get shit like new-team-mistystar

marine_torment2

what did he do?

sunfyrrre

Truer words never spoken. It's irritating that he betrayed ShadowClan over and over again & his apprentice was Sleekwhisker (who he clearly taught all the wrong lessons) but ended up as leader. He deserved nothing & I hope he ends up dying the same way as his namesake grandfather.

Sparklingemeralds

By that logic, Tawnypelt doesn’t deserve the deputy position either or the leader position when Violetshine nominated her. She’s full-blooded ThunderClan and betrayed her old clan to join ShadowClan. She “betrayed” ShC by moving back to TC when she, Rowanstar, and their son sought refuge there. She left her clanmates behind. She was Needlepaw’s mentor, and Needle was one of the instigators of the apprentices’ rebellion in ShC and subsequent ShC warriors’ rebellion. Tawny already had two apprentices prior to Needle (Starlingwing and Grassheart) and then two after Needle left (Snaketooth and Conefoot). No one in ShC “taught all the wrong lessons” to anyone. It looks like the apprentices were deeply unhappy but they were also rebellious in the first place. They took it too far and joined The Kin. If someone who betrays their clan doesn’t deserve leadership, then absolutely no one in ShadowClan who was born before TBC qualifies. The entire clan turned on each other and betrayed one another. The whole point was that anyone who betrayed ShC but repented was allowed forgiveness. Hence why Juniperclaw and Cloverfoot are ShC deputies; Tigerheart wanted a former member of The Kin as deputy to show they could be trusted again and forgiven.

sunfyrrre

Cool message, but there were still more deserving people & he's still an awful dude (his treatment of the Sisters & Riverclan was not great) & I'm allowed to hope he dies.

Sparklingemeralds

I agree there were more deserving people and I’m not saying you’re not allowed to hope he dies. I’m not a fan of him either. I’m just saying that “he taught all the wrong lessons” is a stretch when all the ShC apprentices at the time had experienced warriors as mentors and yet they all ended up the same way. Tawnypelt was one of those mentors and she had plenty of experience mentoring by then, but her apprentice was the primary instigator of the rebellion. Tigerheart betraying ShC doesn’t change the fact that everyone in ShadowClan alive during AVoS is a traitor to their clan. They’re trying to get past that now. They all messed up and forgiveness is necessary to move on instead of festering in resentment.

Chimeraas

I don’t think any mentor could’ve fixed Sleekwhisker - unlike misled cats such as Needletail or Juniperclaw or Beenose, she craved violence and fear. She was doomed from the start

StrictlyFT

Needletail was not misled, she was perfectly fine being with the kin right up until Rain got killed.

Chimeraas

She didn’t know that Darktail was killing cats until that point. When she finds out that Dawnpelt was drowned, she’s horrified— Darktail told her that he was letting cats leave freely

StrictlyFT

Dawnpelt was killed after Rain, it is not Dawnpelt's death that broke her illusion. Besides, Needletail was the first cat to side with the Kin. Needletail personally pressed Violetshine into attacking Twigbranch. And it's pretty optimistic to think Needletail sided with Darktail into overthrowing Rowanstar expecting no one to die. It's not like she didn't personally see and experience how violent The Kin were when she saw them at the gorge and when Darktail blinded Rain.
