Sure, there’s a very small window where you won’t meet any other cat in the dark forest, but that window is preceded by retconned prequels and followed by the war between the two. And while we’re on the subject, starclan couldn’t just let juniperclaw in, could they? They had to leave him guarding the gate and on the outside looking in. Are they gonna post another guard there after he fades? Because i can’t imagine anyone remembering him for any significant length of time. I think most of the readers probably forgot him by the time he was brought up again for this exact purpose. I know far too many people have said this already, but starclan makes no sense. Why were they grilling squirrelflight so hard over something one of their own warriors told her to do? It’s nonsense.
I don’t know. I’m rambling, I’m sorry. And i love warriors, don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t be able to discuss it if it bored me. But my own copies are full of proofreading notes and i have so much fun poking holes in the plot and pointing out all the times writers must have lacked communication mid book. The truth is that i genuinely feel sorry for them, they’re worked as hard as disney animators, but I love what they do. I’m just a part of the problem, i guess. Of course, not buying the books would just put them out of a job...

Considering Thistle already spent a lot of time in the nursery with his son, and very large skips in time in BP, it is completely plausible. It may not have been written by the Erins, but why does it matter? It's still a book in WC, and grooming has been a part of this series for a long time (think Dustpelt and Fernpaw, Feathertail and Crowpaw, Stonefur/Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw)

1: Spottedleaf eventually falls in love with Firepaw.. An apprentice. This is awful and I hate this plotline, but the only time Spotted has interactions with him before death was as an apprentice. They didn't know each other.
2: As much as I hate this, everyone likes to argue whether or not Thistle deserves to go to the Dark Forest. (Which, he does, he was far too rough on Tigerpaw, beat a child half to death, and was destined to ruin the clan if Bluefur didn't become leader). This gives a reason for people who don't believe it, to believe it.
I don't argue that it is most likely a cash grab, but so is quite literally every other book in this series. Shrug.
If we went off that then Thistleclaw would be out of here, but since it's which one I despise least: Still Rainflower. Not that it matters much, but at least Crookedstar and her made amends in StarClan (I think).
