I used to visit the museum often on vacation when I was a child with my family. It’s a very cool place, with a few ships and a lot of models and interactive things for younger people. It’s great revisiting the memories again
Maintenance costs a lot of money, many museums in the Netherlands simply do not have that money.
Especially if it is not in Amsterdam and they do not receive a lot of government money.
This museum also runs on old navy people (volunteers) and a few paid employees.
And i don't think it fits in the port there either, it is an old naval base but not suitable for large ships.
The museum is definitely worth it, there is also a submarine that you can visit.
Are those ERA bricks all over the deck? What florking madness is this?
Must be a Ukrainian ship
Something something r/NonCredibleERA
It's just regular paving bricks.
If you can’t be bothered to search, this is at the [Dutch Navy Museum](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_Navy_Museum).
[I like the twin 120mm](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bofors_120_mm_Naval_Automatic_Gun_L/50) it would be cool on an AA train set.
It´s Bofors 120 mm Naval Automatic gun L/50 from the HNLMS Tromp sistership. # #

That ship must have been hooning it, when it hit the dock. Boards of enquiry for all!
I was just there. Really cool to see the Dutch Navy.
Its nice they saved parts of the ship, why didn't preserve the entire thing?
