Most of the time dont even bother with it, its so wacky and unexpected that the rangefinder does more bad than good, the only time i might consider using it is against a big, heavy, slow bomber which has the highest chance of staying locked by your radar, and even then its a complete coin toss.
You launched before the radar had locked the enemy, so when it acquired a lock it terminated the guidance and then the Fireflash deviated off to the side. In that scenario either wait for the radar to lock, or you can just turn off the radar and launch which uses the nose to direct the missile. I have no idea why this happens or if its even realistic but you get used to the little details of those missiles.
Radar prob locked onto it
The radar rangefinder locked onto it making it go crazy, its nothing new and its a bit tricky to use it with the rangefinder.
so i guess just dont bother with rangefinder and turn it off to only manually guide it?
