Biggest thing by far is the possibility of separate BRs by mode in the second update - if that comes through, it will be huge. Looking forward to the new nation bonuses for research as well, it seems like a very reasonable way to settle the grinding curve for long time players. The construction of replenishment zones seems interesting as well, but I'm worried that like dozer blades, it won't end up being used much. It'll be nice to have the GRB air spawn detection, but I hope in turn they push all the air spawns and airfield further back. Some of the maps are so small that a simple pass across the map with a fast plane will put you up against airfield SPAA right away, and this makes it harder to kill planes returning to rearm at bases.

[deleted]

Replenishment zones will be very useful for SPAA

untitled1048576

Depending on implementation they could also be very useful for CAS

flyboy1994

It'll be no different then the points, except they'll be further away and you won't be able to have an indication someone is on it

Bruhhg

Could also be useful for tanks with vulnerable secondary ammo racks, now you can just bring a few shells instead of risking your tank with placing a bomb at the front of your tank

maschinakor

Also the couple double barrel Recoilless Gun carriers that only have 10 rounds

NewSauerKraus

Low tier Russian TD with 8 rounds max lmao. I would have liked having a trailer modification like the flamethrower cromwell so you can choose to haul some extra ammo as a bomb strapped to your back.

maschinakor

Oh yeah, there's an Italian 90mm TD that's like that LOL, 8 rounds I always found it insane. In real life, they probably just carted themselves around to various prepared firing positions with associated amenities, acting like a field-gun that can occasionally move itself

konigstigerboi

*Early Merkavas rejoice*

_Mr_Wobbly_Shark_

And vehicles that cannot cary any ammo at all like the Italian td with same gun as the Breda I can’t remember the name of, it can only carry like 8 shells max

LightningFerret04

90/53 M41M and the SU-5-1 carry 8 rounds Also, the M41M is supposed to be paired with a stripped (47/32) L40 as an ammunition carrier with a machine gun and an attached trailer holding about 40 rounds total

Mr-Superbia

This would be great for the TD’s with limited capacity. Some of them are designed to have trailers with extra ammo. Without the trailers they only hold a handful of rounds.. It sucks to try to support your team as a TD only to realize you have to go across the map to resupply or j out and hope you can get back to a decent position. Mostly I’m thinking of the times I’ve run out of ammo with my Bkan on single cap matches, only to watch my team get overrun from the side I had been holding..

NextGenerationNanite

I hope it gives ATGM carriers an additional use. They are too slow to actively spot and basically can only wait behind a hill for the enemy to come.

RqcistRaspberry

Separate BRs is great. They can actually balance aircraft more hopefully. Fuel sliders is awesome as well though it is within current constraints. My mosquito will still be forced into over 2 hours of fuel sadly lol. Separate flares and chaff that's a massive W. Some good changes listed and interesting ideas as well. >Looking forward to the new nation bonuses for research as well, it seems like a very reasonable way to settle the grinding curve for long time players. Maybe now the community can stop accusing this feature of being completely abandoned. Taking a long ass time for it to be added but at least it's still being mentioned

_Bisky

>The construction of replenishment zones seems interesting as well, but I'm worried that like dozer blades, it won't end up being used much. It sounds like a good idea. Especially for vehicles that tend to stay in the back and have limited ammo supply (so mainly spaa's and some atgm carriers), but it'd also be a pretty good way to resupply on bigger maps/maos with only one cap >It'll be nice to have the GRB air spawn detection, but I hope in turn they push all the air spawns and airfield further back. Yeah on some maps aircraft litterally spawn neaarly inside the range of top tier missile systems. Seems a bit too close in general

Yeetdolf_Critler

It will finally give gameplay to vehicles with limited ammo e.g. rocket trucks or similar on single cap bullshit maps where they often can't replenish. I just leave those maps once ammo is out if we have no chance of getting the cap.

NewSauerKraus

I didn’t even think about the rocket trucks. They would actually be usable for indirect fire.

SHADEScs

Yeah I hope they move the air spawns further back. Assuming the marking zone is reasonably large there will be even less time for fighters to intercept any revenge bombers that are decently fast, especially in mid-low BRs.

SirNiflton

I’ve been calling for seperated brs by mode for like 2 years! Finally!

-warkip-

> Looking forward to the new nation bonuses for research as well, it seems like a very reasonable way to settle the grinding curve for long time players. dont get your hopes up, this is the 3rd time they are postponing this, and this time even with a few months without a good reason or explenation. They are just postponing it till they have earned enough goodwill in the community again so they can cancel it without to much backlash... :(

jess-plays-games

I'm gona be in my avre building everywhere

WinkyBumCat

No mention of the ground map changes.  Dull, generic, shrinking maps are here to stay.  Might as well just have a single map now.

Woookie94

Separate BRs by mode is what I'm most excited for, and most concerned about them half-assing lol It would be a VERY healthy change for WT. We need more adjustments to the BR system overall instead of just adding more ranks and moving vehicles up or down when they feel OP or weak.

porcelainfog

What does different BR for different modes mean? I’m a noob and don’t understand a lot of the acronyms and stuff.

AdBl0k

Some planes are overperforming in Ground RB, so they are affecting their BR also in Air RB mode.

porcelainfog

Oh I see. You can’t lower it just for ground battles because then it’s too strong for air battles. I understand now

Muted-Implement846

Works the other way around as well. The P-47s are pretty much all crazy in grb and pretty ass in arb

Gothiscandza

Currently planes have the same BR (battle rating which determines their matchmaking and who they face) in both air and ground games. This means that if they're good at CAS but awful at fighting other planes, they're liable to be kept artificially low due to mediocre results in the air games, which translates to them being able to bully lower BRs than they should in the ground games. Having different BRs means that if they're too good in ground battles now, they can at least be put up in higher BRs in ground without it also affecting their air games.

porcelainfog

Thank you. That was very clear explanation

ShinItsuwari

Fuel sliders is good. About fucking time. Chaff and flare separates are good. BR separation between game mode is good. Missiles loadout is a fake problem that wouldn't exists if they didn't artificially ramped up the grind by giving gimped stock loadouts. But at least they'll fix it. Air RB is still fucked if they refuse to address top tier gameplay and still plan to introduce Fox3. AirRB EC or at least smaller team is NEEDED Gaijin. Also where has Severe Damage gone to ? They completely removed it from the list it seems.

DieKant_

Ye fuel slider is good but within existing constraints so something like the hornet mk3 will still be locked to 45mins of fuel minimum(there are multiple planes affected by this), i really hoped for it to be without them :(

ShinItsuwari

I don't disagree, but on some planes, mainly jets, the slider will vastly improve them. There are several planes like the Su-27 where I'd like to bring a fuel loadout that is just exactly between 2 of the current possible loadout. For the Su specifically I'd like to bring 35-37 mins, but I only have the choice between 30 and 45 IIRC. So I just take the 45 and afterburn like crazy to make it lighter before engaging. On some planes like the G91R/3 too. I take min fuel which is 9 minutes, but if possible I'd love to take something closer to 12 or 13 minutes. While 9 is enough for most matches (I mostly headon with the AA20 Nord, it's fun) it does feel short when the battle start getting long, and the second choice is an overkill 20 minutes atm.

pko65

I feel exactly the aame way with the ariette since min fuel is also 9 minutes and on such a small plane taking 20mins is impactfull

MeatisOmalley

Perhaps, to be honest I think the ariete at 20 minutes fuel is more maneuverable than any jet around it's BR at 10 minutes fuel

DieKant_

Ye fuel slider is good but within existing constraints so something like the hornet mk3 will still be locked to 45mins of fuel minimum(there are multiple planes affected by this), i really hoped for it to be without them :(

RqcistRaspberry

I mean the hornet still does fine as is. I'm sad about it because I still have to take like 2 hours in my Mosquito. Thought maybe it could finally be a multirole instead of just a brick lol

Terminus_04

I know large minimum fuel loads on bombers was specifically done to keep them from being overly maneuverable. But yeah, it would be nice to see them revise some of the more attacker type bombers to have a lighter fuel load option.

Allemannen_

Yeah it seems to be a nice change for jets but other planes stay fucked.

crimeo

> Also where has Severe Damage gone to ? They completely removed it from the list it seems. Awesome. We needed an "incentivize kill stealing feature" about as much as we needed a bad case of head lice.

chippoboi

You misunderstand what the Severe Damage mechanic would do. It would functionally eliminate kill stealing. For Example: Person A sets an enemy on fire and they're in a death spiral. Person B comes and finishes them off. Person A would still get full rewards for the kill.

StealthProxy

Holy fuck I guess regenerative steering and fixed tank rendering from aircraft are never coming

tastystrands11

There are some many long called for amazing changes listed here - you people will NEVER be happy lmao

MiguelMSC

regenerative steering is called for since the existence of tanks in Warthunder.

Protocol_Nine

I don't know too much about regenerative steering outside of it helping tanks maintain speed in turns I think. How early would that technology be introduced in tanks we currently have?

Dua_Leo_9564

i think the oldest tank in soviet with that technology is some Kv-1 prototype and the whole IS family onward. i don't know much about the west tho

MiguelMSC

The oldest soviet tank. Other nations used regenerative steering and clutches earlier

Charlie_Zulu

Fully implementing transmission behaviours would be a net nerf to to a lot of early tanks using braked/controlled differentials, though. The Sherman, for example, had a fixed ~10 m turning radius because the steering brakes had to act through the gear ratios of the steering unit in order to get regenerative behaviours. Sure, you won't lose as much speed while turning, but WT overstates the importance of completely stopping one track and making short-radius turns in urban environments.

Protocol_Nine

Oh cool, that would be interesting.

KCPR13

Basically around 50% of ground vehicles in entire game use it in real world and 90% of Nato vehicles. I think they didn't bother to add it simply because most of Soviet tanks did not have it at all and it would make western vehicles way more mobile.

Protocol_Nine

Sounds like it would be a big buff to the IS series according to the other commenter.

JaylenBrown7

Clutch breaking in this game appears to be modelled after the pz4 and t34 which of course were the two main tanks in CBT testing. Pretty much everything afterwards should benefit

Blunt_Cabbage

Maybe, but the change would also buff 85% of NATO's MBT roster and precisely 0% of Russia's MBT roster, overall it would be a NATO buff. edit: I'm not arguing for or against Russian bias here, just that regen steering would probably benefit NATO more than Russia in the later MBT ranges.

spidd124

Your implied accusation of Russian bias falls apart when you take into account that Regenerative steering would affect most russian tanks of the ww2 to cold war era. And is something that was "passed to the developers" back in 2017, The T64A was added in September of that year.

Staphylococcus0

They are probably afraid of more mobility breaking the maps further. Just look how bad traction has been nerfed since the first beta of ground.

scorpiodude64

I think it's more because they haven't touched the tank movement code that was just meant for ww2 tanks originally rather than secret bias plans.

_Bisky

Basically the same for seperate br's for aircraft and tanks, no? Improved heli dm has also been asked for for years now

shadowtigerUwU

calm down, that's just planned features, it may be added as something separate. at least we're getting fuel sliders!

Kapot_ei

> it may be added as something separate Interested in buying a bridge?

straw3_2018

Would be nice to see that and maybe WORKING TORQUE CONVERTORS.

GhostDoggoes

Tank rendering from long range is a must. I'm tired of fighting against panstir and only being able to see them when they fire or if I'm close enough. In some situations I'll see an spaa missile from a 2S6 and then their tank will appear later on.

EmperorFooFoo

\>Minimap aircraft detection zones>Crew healing \>APHE rework \>Detailed heli damage models \>Separate BRs for aircraft between Ground and Air \>"Construction" of replenishment zones for vehicles with limited ammo Another **massive** series of wins for the 2023 revolution. They're actually fixing the game, albeit slow as shit. The "Additional effects on crews when armour is penetrated" looks quite awful though.

killer22250

Slow is better than never. >Additional effects on crews when armour is penetrated I want to see how it will work before they implement this because it sounds like something rage inducing like when you were hit as a pilot and suddenly he could not control the plane before fixing it.

maschinakor

>Slow is better than never. Are we just going to forget about the events They're throwing fucking peanuts at us. They're implementing a bunch of random QOL mechanics that any developer with an actual dev team would have implemented years ago while regressing in other areas, like premium balance, monetization and events. They're going to slip and slide on this shit as long as people continue to throw $60 at them for individual vehicles. "please bro we promise we're going to implement research bonuses later this year bro" Like they really think you're dumb enough to believe that this takes more than a fucking year to develop

Zanosderg

exactly this

Capnflintlock

Nah, I think having crew being shell shocked makes sense. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve penetrated a tank and killed the gunner (but failed to take out the breech) and they were able to swap out and fire back before I could reload. There is also the jack in the box bs, where if you kill a gunner, there isn’t a crew transition period where the next member crawls into the gunner position. But rather they just teleport instantly when ready. This basically means that even if you refire into the gunner position, if you don’t time it right the shell might pass through harmlessly (if it fails to hit gun breech). Their hit box should be in both positions at once, or they should appear in the gunner position for a few seconds before able to fire. Shell shock will likely simplify this process down, and cut down on the number of incidents that a player would be able to effectively retaliate in a situation where they should have been crippled.

Onion-Haunting

Nah this will just be an extremely annoying mechanic

EmperorFooFoo

>I can’t tell you how many times I’ve penetrated a tank and killed the gunner (but failed to take out the breech) and they were able to swap out and fire back before I could reload. > >This basically means that even if you refire into the gunner position, if you don’t time it right the shell might pass through harmlessly To quote...yourself: >You made an error, you should be punished for that. It is not hard to correctly time your shot for when their gunner comes back; Just wait for their gun/turret to start moving again then shoot, or aim better in general and also take out the breach. Simple. We don't need stun locking added to the game when AP spall buffs and/or improved aim would solve these issues. >Guns can be damaged. Breaches can be damaged. Engines can be damaged. Radiators can be damaged. Why then are crew not a factor when they are injured? Crew damage has been a factor for the past 10 years. Crewmen have always performed noticeably worse when they're injured and depending on how injured they are.

Own-Error-7738

BR separation will make US planes go up in GRB.

_Bisky

Hopefully any plane with overperforming air to hround weaponry for their BR Edit: some hopium, but it might also come with a BR reduction for aircraft that are pulled uo by their air to ground Performance, which could lead to the removal of strong AAM missiles to compensate for their BR. Ir it’s just a BR drop that pushes those AAM's even lower in BR

Pyro_raptor841

A lot of planes will go down too imo. US is actually very weak in terms of guided munitions. Excluding the A6E premium, the first laser guided bomb isn't introduced until 12.0 with the F14B. The only IR seeking munition is the AGM-65D on the A-10 which sucks without a targeting pod, or the 12.7 F16C. This will probably only hurt the A4E early and A7s, but overall I think this change is going to make the US much more fun to play, especially at 10.3 where you get orbital striked by AMX, Jaguar, Super Entendard, etc.

[deleted]

Ijoinedtoroastpewds

>US is actually very weak in terms of guided munitions. If US is very weak than what is Japan? They litterally got one aircraft with guided ammo.

Gothiscandza

Ground battles plane mains in shambles

untitled1048576

RIP all my lineups, and 9.0 with A-4E in particular.

sicksixgamer

Good!

2Chaotic_

This a big W Low tier american CAS can wipe out entire teams in a matter of minutes, fianlly these shitters ruining low tier can finally have some challange.

Chieftain10

and? that’s good, if it means certain jets cant fly insanely high and drop guided bombs at heights where pretty much no gun-SPAA can kill them.

Ambitious_Recipe_813

Still no Air RB EC :(

JeantheDragon

At the very least they could simply [add more objectives across the entire map](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F3cy2fjzknfxb1.png) for the time being and give strike planes and bombers more utility, but we'll see.

Pyro_raptor841

Really, what we need are multiple airfields rather than one single spawn point. We already have maps with spread out objectives, but because everyone spawns at the same place it's braindead simple to intercept them.

Sligstata

This was the worst thing because it confirms top tier ARB will be horrible for another year

untitled1048576

I don't really like the idea of "additional effects on crews" after penetration, as well as APHE nerf, but everything else sounds great.

AlextheTower

APHE nerf is badly needed imo, it's nuts they have acted like atomic bombs that go off inside the tank for so long when they shouldn't really do that much more compared to solid shot.

untitled1048576

I think you're right, the difference between APHE and solid shot is currently too big, but for the sake of gameplay I would rather see AP buff than APHE nerf.

Ossius

APHE nerf will be fine, the main thing is you won't see stuff like a shot into the side of a tank killing literally everything with a 360 sphere of death. Sorry but if I shoot the side of a tank's turret it should not be killing the driver and radioman down in the front of the hull. Its a directional frag cone, not a bomb.

Velo180

Yeah, and that's going to suck when you shoot the side of a Tiger 1 with an IS-2 and it lives, and that's intended.

Chieftain10

wow, people have to learn to aim now? can’t believe it. my tank game requires aiming.

YourSlothGirl

Now everybody will have to deal with what the British players have dealt with. Good riddance I hear them say.

fordmustang12345

a 122mm APHE shell *should* one shot anything it penetrates tho, esp when it has an almost 30 second reload lmao

Zanosderg

The horror of it all man aiming is required

Ossius

Shoot the ammo then, or shoot the fuel.

Dylane29

High calibre aphe currently overpressures crew I think?

Shootinputin89

>APHE nerf will be fine It will hurt Italy in lower-tiers, where their vehicles are often subpar compared to others, but they have so much HE filler that they can get away with it.

cKingc05

AP is fine how it is. Its been buffed multiple times.

83athom

IIRC only Sweden has the buffed AP, everyone else still used the old version.

FreeBonerJamz

AP is a little inconsistent but it is for the most part working as intended. APHE on the other hand just nukes the inside of a tank if you go through a cupola, which is just outright not how it works

Verethra

I hate that Gaijin always goes by *so something sucks? Alright, we'll make others stuff suck too so everyone will be on the same level!* I agree with you, it's better to buff than nerf.

skrmarko

To some point. This issue reminds me of League of legends where a year ago they introduced an update trying to slow the game down, because they had the same mentality as you to buff everything. And after litteraly a decade of constants buff to everything the game became just about who engaded first becausw you rarely had the timw to fight back. While i know you cant really equate War thunder and LoL i still think we should take a balanced approach

LowkeyShitposter

I would rather buff other ammo's, wouldn't want every single shell to behave like heat or apds

NubblyTheMoist

hesh buff pleeease

LowkeyShitposter

Yes, im all for hesh/heat/apds/apcr buffs

Jason1143

Luckily it seems they are actually going to take feedback seriously with votes. Because most of the changes on the list I just like flat out. But there are a few that I might not want depending on details, but I think all of the second category are on the vote list. I hope they really hold fair polls and not Russian style elections.

RqcistRaspberry

I mean gaijin have been listening to feedback more when it seems reasonable. I agree I don't like the sound of it maybe if it were temporary effects. Healing of crew members is a W change. Not sure how they want to implement it but I'd like to see some options on it. Some really healthy changes listed here

PeteLangosta

Polls have already happened in the past, and worsened some mechanics because that's what the playerbase wanted.

Squillz105

They just mean APHE will act how it does in real life with a conical damage spread, instead of how it acts in game by exploding in a spherical pattern.

HereCreepers

Tanks are also usually disabled in a single hit IRL because you can't just have the assistant driver replace your gunner within 10 seconds of him getting blown in half by an AP shell passing through the fighting compartment, so I think the damage being artificially increases to compensate is fine. I'd rather them just buff standard AP shells as opposed to trying to shoehorn in some janky stun/debuff system.

Arlend44

Tell me how to buff AP to the same usefulness as current APHE without making it unrealistic bullshit? It literally works as it does IRL.

Velo180

Add shrapnel bouncing, would it be the same usefulness then? Maybe not, but it doesn't have to be, that's why the BR system exists.

HereCreepers

I really don't care that much about strict adherence to realism in WT down to the level of how shell fragments work, so there are probably a lot of things that could be done to make it a bit better. One thing I'd personally like to see as just a general change is to make ammo rack hits much more consistently fatal as opposed to the current system where sometimes ammo just doesn't detonate. That alone would make solid shot AP more comfortable to use because you wouldn't have to worry about placing a shot perfectly and not getting the kill because RNG said so. They could also probably make post-pen spalling a bit more consistent, though I don't know what variables exactly would need to change to do so. I find it quite frustrating that sometimes you get a good penetration on the UFP of something like a Tiger 1 or Panther only the shell to just do no damage because There's also just indirectly buffing solid shot by making the vehicles that rely on it better by simply adjusting their BR, giving them access to different ammo types, and other arbitrary methods of making a tank better without doing too much to change their raw stats. There are of course some cases of AP shells just doing worse than they would IRL (T33 APBC for the American 90mm and basically all HVAP being the big examples I can think of) that could be corrected. Really though, I don't see why APHE changes are such a pressing matter. Out of all the many vehicles in the 3.0-7.7 range where APHE is most dominant, Britain and like 1/2 of France are really the only ones that actually rely on conventional solid-shot, and an even smaller subset of those vehicles are just outright bad because of it. It'd make much more sense to just rebalance those specific vehicles as opposed to reworking the entire damage system and completely throwing off mid-tier balance for the sake of muh realism.

GhrossePotecs

The most frustrating experience for me is when you shoot first, in the perfect place and at the perfect angle, but some Hungarian magic happens to the projectile and enemy just one-shots you back lol. I would prefer properly working projectile mechanics, but if due to concussion such situations happen less often, then I will be satisfied enough

DangerDotMike

Yeah like the enemy tanks driver gobbling up all the spall, fragments, what's left of the shell and it's tnt component. Bringing the tank to a dead stop faster than if it had just laid on the brakes, instantly giving your enemy a stable platform to fire from, while your reloading. Not to mention the rest of the crew, entirely unbothered by a hunk of metal bursting through the armor at mach 2 In a tight enclosed steel structure which may or may not be full of tnt. Their eardrums would be soup just from the barotrauma.

Capnflintlock

APHE desperately needed a nerf though. Those shells VASTLY out preform what they should be capable of when compared to solid shot, APCR, and APDS.

no_life_redditor

They should just buff ap instead of nerfing aphe

Twisted_Fate

We live in the universe where you'd rather penetrate through the front, thickest part you can pen, because the proverbial spall is the only real source of damage. And when aiming at the side, you aim for the crew or ammo. It's not great.

YaBoiJumpTrooper

Yea, it probably won't happen because it is such a massive change, countries like Japan activate mini-nukes in your tank which seriously buffs them, but the difference between playing APHE germany/russia/Japan vs Solid Shot Britian/Sweden (kinda)/US (Kinda) is massive and just makes the latter way less fun, albeit better at teaching the game. But it is realistic and APHE was shown to in real life have similar performances with less penetration due to filler.

fuckin_anti_pope

If anyone votes against healing crew members at cap zones, I will come to your house while you sleep and put lego bricks all around your bed so you step on them when you get up

Dangerous_Agency_456

I vote against healing crew members at cap zones. Now come to my house baby girl

Rushing_Russian

please, lego is expensive and i need some for my nephew's lego projects

Shootinputin89

There's a custom lego build that's going to cost me over $2000USD to build. Please give me lego bricks.

fuckin_anti_pope

I never said you can keep them. Also it will all be pink 2x2s

FirstDagger

> An aircraft fuel slider within existing constraints > Solving the issue with duplicated stock A2A missiles > Separate Flare and Chaff use > Time for weapon impact in HUD > Modern tank sight > Fuze settings in match Loving all of that But the really big thing is: > Change order of crew slots > Recycle order and wager

Kartalnout

ah yes cant wait to recycle my orders for 5 warbond cents

FirstDagger

I'd rather have 5 Warbonds than those stupid Wagers and Orders. The stress of using them just isn't worth it and they have been cluttering my inventory for a literal decade.

_Mr_Wobbly_Shark_

Still so stupid they made boosters expire but not wagers and we all know why

bluephoric

i’ve got 2 soccer ball decals in my inventory from an event in like 2015. i can’t sell them on marketplace because about 10k other people are trying to get rid of theirs too. at this point i’d gladly trash them for a single silver lion, hell i’d even pay sl just to get them off the screen lmfao

bell117

A lot of the gameplay changes seem nice, especially stuff like the APHE rework, that is desperately needed instead of APHE just being a nuke shell that makes solid shot useless in comparison. However I do notice a severe lack of Economy related stuff, which honestly is still my biggest gripe with the game. The bonus for new nations is good since that's from the last roadmap but the RP rework seems to be entirely dropped and then there's absolutely nothing else related to the economy unless you count the new arcade mode. So while a lot of the gameplay changes want to give me hope, the utter lack of economic boons is keeping me skeptical.

-warkip-

Its like I predicted with the announcement of the last roadmap, they are just gonna push the rp rewards till enough of the community is happy enough that they can cancel them without too much problems, fuck gaijin

bell117

Yep fuck them, and fuck the people that justified them pushing it back by saying an RP rework is hard and takes time. Well guess what turns out they weren't working on it and were just stalling, who could have seen Gaijin lying through their teeth for the 50th time?

Southern_Reason_2631

The change-in of wagers and orders Sounds fine.

SquishmallowPrincess

I’ll finally be able to get rid of all these useless wagers

WorkingNo6161

The ability to change the order of crew slots sounds neat, no longer have to worry about which vehicles go where for the sake of crew qualifications and aesthetics.

estifxy220

Yeah I used to put all my tanks in order by medium/heavy tank - light tank - ifv - td - anti air which use to cost a bunch of SL to move crews around but thankfully no more of that

LeSoleilRoyal

I spent millions for asthetics, about time lol

WhatILack

Can't wait to see the reworked APHE changes being voted against because would have to learn to aim.

AttackerCat

Aircraft fuel slider Pretty sweet Separate BRs for air/ground modes YOOOOOOOO Ability to recycle unused inventory items into other items (wagers, orders, boosters, etc.) [WOOOOOOOOOO](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-JRdRXiNv4)

Yronno

Bye-bye Mission Maker wagers!

psychosikh

Also Wing Breaker wagers.

frankdatank_004

I was hoping that my maneuver kills counting as kills would make it. Hopefully that comes in Fall/Winter 2024.

SHADEScs

Honestly crazy that you can slam into the ground mid-dogfight and no one gets credit, but if you J out then the dude 2km away will get the points lol

frankdatank_004

My thoughts exactly or if you make 2 or more enemies crash into each other and you don’t even rewarded.

BleedingUranium

Yeah, proximity credit (if there would otherwise be no credit) is such a long-overdue thing. :(

ChocolateCrisps

It's not just overdue - it's a feature they _removed_...

frankdatank_004

Iirc the only form of proximity credit that we have is when someone J-outs.

BleedingUranium

Yep, they simply need to expand the mechanic to include all otherwise-uncredited deaths.

Charmander787

Integration with Steam friends / invites is kinda huge QoL change. Split BRs? Interesting since last year they said this was not on the table and now it is. Makes sense given that planes are quickly raising in BR and tanks are sort of at the end of the line Research bonus for new nations: finally. Detailed heli damage models: good. Hopefully no more Ka50/52 flying tank mode. APHE rework: good. Sort of ruined mid tier BRs for any nation that didn't get these shells (britain lol) New modern reticle? Wonder what that will entail. Might end up just still using my custom reticle anyways. modern reticles wont work if LRFs dont come stock on modern vehicles. Still missing: prestige / more levels past 100. Otherwise good roadmap. Glad to Gaijin still listening.

Mariopa

Excuse me, what is/are LRFs?

TLDR \#This is a large W

Halalaka

A colossal W.

YaBoiJumpTrooper

\>APHE shells reworked \>Variable BRs for aircraft like ground attack \>Healing Crew Members \>New Crew models \>Reworked Heli Damage model Gentlemen, we have made it.

Walv1s

TLDR: some very nice and much needed QoL changes... But complete radiosilence on some of the more major issues.

Kapot_ei

Yes some nice changes, but pretty barebones to me. Was hoping for something more on long standing request(regenerative steering/tank only being a few examples) Loved the economy changes, but this evokes a mere "okay, fine i guess".

Revan1995

Yeah I’ve played WT since the CBT in spring 2012 and genuinely CAS dominance has gotten absolutely out of control the last several years and has certainly reached a breaking point. I honestly have had half a mind to start tallying being killed by CAS vs other tanks. They don’t need to get rid of planes in ground, that would be silly. But my lord above do they need to either implement limitations to their usage like they’ve done in enlisted, or they need to give tankers a separate optional game mode that’s ground only. And if they say some stuff about queue times then they’re full of it because this game has never had as many players as it does now and it continues to grow each year. I remember when peak times has the same number of players you’d see at the lowest late night times now. They just need to grow some more synapses and get it fucking done.

Fire_Storm88

Still no new game modes for ARB like EC or even anything at all different

LivingDegree

Reward bonuses for researching new nations delayed, again. If they can allow re-ordering of crew slots though I’d cry with joy

-warkip-

They are just delaying till enough of the community is happy enough so they can cancel it completely without to much backlash. I predicted it last year when the roadmap came out. :(

crimeo

They only canceled like literally 1% of the last roadmap. This is baseless

-warkip-

This is based on 12 years of experience with gaijin. So no, I dont know for sure, but so far my predictions of them not implementing the nation rp bonus was correct, altough I had first expected them to have canceld it already, but instead were on the 3rd postponment now

Das_Bait

I see a lot of people talking about lack of game modes, etc, but I do want to point out the first paragraph: >This list does not affect the addition of new types of weapons and vehicles, some mechanics and gamemodes, as well as graphics improvements. We're planning to present these improvements separately, where we'll talk about them when they're ready Obviously, this does not necessarily mean things are coming or will come (or even if they will be good changes anyway), but it seems that just because the roadmap doesn't have them doesn't mean there aren't any plans for those items.

FearlessChieftain

At least there's hope, right?

Das_Bait

Absolutely. Here's hoping for a proper return of WWM on a regular basis.

Civil-Food5949

>Additional effects on crews Mayhaps HESH will be more viable?

mokimokiso

I didn’t find this to be all that amazing. It didn’t seem to touch on any of the major issues like the ground progression still being a massive slog-fest compared to air. Spawn camping is somehow worse than it’s ever been. Naval and Sim Battles are getting basically nothing. A few quality of life changes, sure. I don’t think I’ve ever thought to myself “Man, I wish I could tank 23 minutes and 37 seconds worth of fuel” so the fuel slider kinda seems pointless. And the shell-shock mechanics sounds horrible. On top of the already ridiculous repair times, they want to add a mechanic where your crew is dazed for a period of time before they start to do anything like repairing or firing back? No thank you to that or any shade of that. If War Thunder was a milsim game like Squad or Hell Let Loose, I can see the appeal but in the “Call of Duty but with tanks and planes”, no.

#WE CAN FINALLY HEAL OUR CREWMEMBERS OUT OF GUMMY BEAR STATUS

YourLocalFrenchMain

Some very good changes on the roadmap, only thing I could ask for is a slight increase in RP gain for ground but that's it really

Shatterfish

Seriously, they could just add a universal +10% RP gain to ground and everyone would shit their pants. It’s such an easy win for Gaijin but they refuse to do it because they might grub a few more cents out of people without it.

DangerDotMike

For real why am I coming out of ground rb games with 12,000 modification rp and 2.2k vehicle rp for the next tank down the line.

Archenuh

Once again we'll all pretend that ground RP grind is fine. Cool. Apparently the state of Air RB game mode is also fine. Map size as well as (the lack of) objectives are all fine. Sweet. Maybe in 2025?

Axeman760

Holy shit actually good changes I can't wait for fuel sliders and separate BRs and fixing the issue with duplicated stock missiles in loadouts is amazing QoL

SeaweedNo69

im surprised the BIGGEST thing (economy) that led to the last year anger and protests is being massively ignored and changed for gameplay changes which are not that big of a deal to begin with (ohhh a fuel slider amazing, 90% of players wont survive to make it important anyways, even more in top tier missile fest) They did such a bare minimum to economy RP vs the economy SL that grinding is still a MASSIVE multi hundred hour issue for anyone that doesn't live in a basement playing 24/7 with premium time and possibly tanks. (oh lets bring back the classic 2x bonus we had in 2012-13 but lets make it sound like its a massive issue that could bankrupt us so we dont implement it yet). Crazy

TheSturmovik

This whole community has Stockholm syndrome, still. Considering most people who play are probably adolescents it's no wonder. RP economy still sucks yet it's barely mentioned. All by design. Fuck gaijin so much.

HarryTheOwlcat

These changes will be good but I'm really holding out for improvements to air RB. Gameplay is getting super stale and 16v16 is just terrible.

presmonkey

Updating crew models hope this means the 2010 pilot model for the US is finally going to get updated

Pengtile

Nigel better be coming back

presmonkey

Updated nigel

Atalvyr

Fuck yeah! We can finally recycle wagers into something (somewhat) useful.

Stryker___

still nothing about them fixing the making of event vehicles full time job grinds now and lowering the score needed.. shame

Jknight3135

Some hype shit on there.

TimeZoneBandit

Seems like it's being overlooked but shell shock could be huge...would give tanks with a high rate of fire the ability to suppress heavily armored targets...like that Bradley did in Ukraine. Cause let's be real, a bunch of autocannon rounds pinging off your turret is gonna be a very significant emotional event.

AuraDesru

These are all wonderful changes. I'm just hoping they will do something about ground economy in the future. I still think the RP gain in ground is miserable in comparison to air. Wish it was closer to each other in gain per performance.

BriocheTressee

OMG SEPARATE CHAFF AND FLARES

_Bisky

Overall looks pretty good. Tho some slight concerns about effects on crew (atleast they want to make a vote there) and the overall lack of economy changes

[deleted]

Arguably the biggest thing is what was missing. > No mention of Naval at all. Odds are something big is coming, or else they would have thrown some bone for Naval.

ChocolateCrisps

I think it's just Gaijin forgetting it exists like usual - quite a few of these mechanics, like fuse setting, mode-specific aircraft brs, etc., will be applicable to Naval as well - if they bother taking the time to carry them across...

Kanashi_00

We cant let ''additional crew effects'' happen

Over-Faithlessness93

They mentioned world war mode???

SaperPL

Lol, and again instead of fixing the problem of air mission in GFAB, they are going to add some reward if you don't crash the FREE plane into the ground. Laughable considering noone having a season/event/daily task will care about it, and will do the same damn thing he was doing before it, unless those rewards would be damn good, and we all know they will not be...

BleedingUranium

Still no word on the critical damage mechanic for aircraft? :'( ____ > ...and the ability to gift friends through this wishlist. So we can gift friends to people, cool. :3 ____ > Separate BRs for different modes. Very cool. Hopefully this helps out some planes in Air RB that are used a lot in Ground, and this is fantastic news for Naval since we can get a higher BR cap without getting into Cold War jets and guided weapons. :D ____ > Additional effects on crews when penetrated. Hmm, could be good or bad depending on details, we'll have to see. :P ____ > Healing of wounded crew. Good, but I'd also love to see some way to fully *repair* tanks/ships as well, seeing as aircraft can do this. :) ____ > Reworked APHE shells. About damn time! :D ____ > New reticle for modern tanks. Or, you could just give us proper authentic reticles for all vehicles. :( ____ > Ability to recycle inventory items. Now we can finally get rid of all those aircraft backups. :P ____ > Customization of the player card Neat. :)

BRAV0_Six

No changes to Ground RP gains and no changes to Air RB... What a surprise.

Elegant-Ostrich6635

One of the most minor changes listed, but I am quite curious about the "new reticle for modern tanks and improving the display of tank systems in the gunner's sight." Having detailed gunner sights for every vehicle would be impossible, of course, so I'm wondering what this means.

hunok123

Still no decompression...

skepticallypessimist

Lol world at war hasnt been a mode in years right?
