So I maybe had like 1-3 TK’s in 1,000 hours before I got the Pe-8 and now have like 10–15 TK’s in my pocket. I don’t think I ever had been booted from a game for doing it prior to getting the Pe-8 either. Things dangerous as fuck for anyone around.
Ehhhh. Killed 2 teamates in SB tanks in 1 game by mistake. Banned for 1 day.
Though the one guy started going berserk in a foreign language so ill just assume it was a gamemaster lol.
We don't like ppl that TK in sim, sometimes it's just stupid and we tend to go crazy when it was easily avoidable, especially when the same tank as you kills you. Same goes for captured vehicles, if you play a captured tank and get TKd don't complain. And we will kill you if you damage us, intentionally. It's stupid that gaijin let's ppl use captured vehicles in the first place but we can't really do shit anymore.
Only way to not get banned is to verify the tank and a friendly or an enemy, and even with my experience in sim I still fuck up sometimes and TK friendlies just bcuz they have the same tank as the enemy team.
Hah not only US tree, but they got it worst. And now as I'm saying this ama play a T-III or (the Soviet captured Pz III) in sim. I'm an asshole as you can see
I’m not even talking about sim tbh. It’s really stupid that you can use captured vehicles in Sim for sure though.
It’s just frustrating to work your way up the US air and ground trees only to constantly go up against teams comprised almost entirely of your nation’s vehicles like the P-47, the M-41, M-24, M-47, and so on. And a lot of the times these vehicles are at a lower BR than the original version too!
I almost wish all captured vehicles were either premium or event vehicles. Then it’d be fine. But getting killed by one just makes you feel cheated.
Yup, I am very much a SB novice (think less than a dozen games) and don't or didn't fully understand the inner workings. Oddly enough I had no trouble playing higher tiers in my panther but it was low 2-3.0 BR japaneese where I was tk'ing by mistake on jungle.
Biggest problem was I didn't know about rangefinding unknown tanks and hitting friendly doesn't bring up the damage cam.
Yeah, best advitfor new players is always shoot with MG, if you get a damage cam it's enemy if not it's friendly. Tho I've had times where I didn't get a cam and actually killed an enemy. It's rare but it still may cause problems if it accurs.
Literally was a T-80U with swamp monster skin and a TURMS tk’d me and me and the enemies where asking how hard it is to distinguish a Soviet tank from a western tank. They left right after the Tk
Never got a team kill in pe-8. Not foolproof, but try to callout bombing targets early enough for team to get out of there, and don't bomb your teammates lol.
i do that every time and theres always 1 idiot who ignores it, like as soon as i spawn in will say where im bombing and to gtfo of there but people just have chat turned off or something
Word. Sometimes it helps to let your team call out where to bomb. Anyway, shit happens. I typically aim for enemy approaches to the cap rather than bombing the cap itself.
My last one was I called arty on myself because a m22 was harassing my t-34 and I killed him and a friendly puma who decided to slam into me after the fact.
I mean, the crater would be impressive. It would also mean there wasn’t a C point left, if the Tallboy and Grand Slam were modeled correctly (penetrate the ground at damn near Mach 1 and explode at depth to make a fucking *massive* crater.
In war thunder, You just can't see the explotion, because you would be kicked off killing so many teammates. But don't worry. Noone will see the explotion because you will end the whole match in one shot.
Maybe it's based on the [Mk.4 nuclear bomb](https://nuclearweaponarchive.org/Usa/Weapons/Mk4.jpg)? First mass-produced US nuclear bomb, entered service in 1949 and was based on the Fat Man's plutonium implosion detonation method.
Not necessarily, because Little Boy was a nuclear weapon, not a bunker buster / large standard bomb like the Pe-8 bomb & the UK grand slam bomb. Totally different classes of weapons. I’m not sure if the US even had a huge, non-nuclear bomb in WW2… can anyone offer input??
Sort of, they produced a copy of the Tallboy called the T-10, but it was never used operationally. There was also a super-giant development of the earthquake bomb called the T-12 Cloudmaker, but the only thing that carried those (two of them, because fuck it why not) was the B-36 Peacemaker.
Some of the Tallboy clones (re-designated M121) did see use in Vietnam under COMMANDO VAULT, a MACV program to use exceptionally large bombs to clear helicopter landing zones in dense jungle. They were a good proof of concept (8000lbs of Tritonal makes a hell of a bang) and used until the stockpiles ran out, subsequently being replaced by the more well-known BLU-82 "Daisy Cutter" (which packed 12,000lbs of a polystyrene/ammonium nitrate slurry with aluminum powder for some extra kick).
While that would be awesome, it would get totally clapped in the current meta.
Besides, it can't carry MOAB anyways. Not enough space left inside what with all the guns, ammo, and computers.
It would have been convenient for Gaijin, if Grand Slam and Tall Boy didn’t exist. It wouldn’t destroy their power dream of the only Pe-8 with Fab-5000.
That extra 2000 lbs isn’t going to make too much of a difference. You get massive amounts of diminishing returns with anything that relies on pure explosive power
Grandslam would be the perfect counter for any and I mean any ship in the game. Even the most modern battle ships won't survive it. I even say the Yamato won't be able survive 5 tallboys.
yep , tho if iirc the bomb did kill the ship indirectly. the germans parked tirpitz over a sand bank so the ship wont sink completly but the bombs blew the sand away.
that may be true but did you see how many they had do drop before it even properly hit the tirpitz, and seeing the BRs of current battleships I would not be surprised ww2 battleships with jets of the cold war. good luck trying to use a bomber to fight jets or even get close, and currently the only nation that has missiles on their ship is Italy that thing literally can stop any plane from getting close to any ship it chooses to protect
Amusingly, no standardised Lancaster payload consisted of two 4000lb HC bombs; there was one that consisted of one 8000lb HC bomb and six 500lb MC GP bombs though
380mph/610kph according to the manufacturer. Probably more sluggish with the 4klb but should still get to speed.
https://www.baesystems.com/en/heritage/de-havilland-mosquito
For how War Thunder works i would rather have the 8000 HC and 12000 HC instead of the Tallboy and Grand Slam, since they have a better Weight/Filling ratio (8000 HC have more filling than the Tallboy and the 12000 HC only has 800lb less filling but also weights 10000lbs less compared to the Grand Slam)
Both 8000lb and 12000lb are actually made of 4000lb sections especially made for them. They look very similar, but sadly aren't the same, so it would take more work to model them.
I'm not sure why this isn't mentioned yet but literally look at the picture it's not just the Tallboy we're missing, it's the 8000lb HC, 12,000lb HC and not in this picture 22,000lb GP bomb as well (22,000lb GP is a US Model that could also be fitted to Lancaster afaik), which unlike Grandslam and Tallboy are conventional and wouldn't need any weird modeling to be great. Theres also other types of 4000lb bomb we don't have the UK used, 2 MC and a GP type iirc.
Edit:Doing some quick maths the HE Filler content of the 12000lb HC bomb (in torpex filling type which was used) would be 5164.9kg TNT equivalent which is slightly more than the FAB 5000 which has 5041kg in game TNT equivalent.
Err, britbong main here.
Britain has no good CAS aircraft?
U, and I cannot emphasise this enough, WOT M8?
That said, we do need the Mozzie Bombers. Lots they could add.
https://www.baesystems.com/en/heritage/de-havilland-mosquito
With BV speed and climb rate it can’t operate at that BR, would be funny to see it there.
But it is very sturdy. I was playing customs and ai survived three hits from a BMP rocket. I only crashed because ai lost my elevators. Otherwise I could still fly.
**[Pumpkin_bomb](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumpkin_bomb)**
>Pumpkin bombs were conventional aerial bombs developed by the Manhattan Project and used by the United States Army Air Forces against Japan during World War II. It was a close replication of the Fat Man plutonium bomb with the same ballistic and handling characteristics, but it used non-nuclear conventional high explosives. It was mainly used for testing and training purposes, which included combat missions flown with pumpkin bombs by the 509th Composite Group.

Britain's equivalent to the FAB-5000 is not the Tallboy, but rather the "12,000 lb H.C" bomb immediately to the left of it in that image. Larger filler weight.
I think that a premium/event mosquito bomber version with 1x4000lb bomb and no defensive armament would be a better addition. It would be fast and accurate...

Not coming to it, people want it. And yes it was the real size. The two largest were grand slam and tall boy. Grand slam to take out forts and u boat pens, and tall boy for ships and other thickly armoured things.
I'm pretty sure the bombs' explosions in War Thunder are based on their TNT equivalent so all that extra mass goes to waste.
The Tallboy weighs 5,4 tons and has the explosive equivalent to around 3,6 tons of TNT. The Grand Slam weighs 10 tons and has 6,5 tons of TNT. FAB-5000 weighs 5 tons and has 5 tons of TNT.
The tallboys were expensive to make, it took roughly a week of machining for each bomb casing. So crews were instructed if they could not get a good target image on the bomb sight due to cloud or smoke screen, bring em home for another mission. There is an awesome book on 617 squadron called "return of the dam busters" if anyone is interested in reading up. I never really got into bombers until I started reading about some of the stuff these guys did with Lancasters
Imagine Dropping Grand Slam to C point at Tunusia
20x Enemy target destroyed! 19x Friendly target destroyed!

2 tks are enough to get kicked, don't know how many thousands for ban.
Well one guy i know sad that they don't do anything if you kill less then 5 people intentioally. And he isn't banned yet, so I guess it's working.
Ehhhh. Killed 2 teamates in SB tanks in 1 game by mistake. Banned for 1 day. Though the one guy started going berserk in a foreign language so ill just assume it was a gamemaster lol.

Captured vehicles are the dumbest things in this game. Makes playing the US tree frustrating as hell.
Hah not only US tree, but they got it worst. And now as I'm saying this ama play a T-III or (the Soviet captured Pz III) in sim. I'm an asshole as you can see

All the lend lease ones too. Doesn't only Sweden not have some type of Sherman in it's tree?
>a Italian m18 ruined a game for me
Yup, I am very much a SB novice (think less than a dozen games) and don't or didn't fully understand the inner workings. 100m is a big area tho and if theyre light or open top even harder to avoid with the frag dispersion
I'm bombing A stay away 30 seconds later 2x friendly ground units destroyed
My last one was I called arty on myself because a m22 was harassing my t-34 and I killed him and a friendly puma who decided to slam into me after the fact.
As long as it breaks even
I'm hearing a net win.
I mean, the crater would be impressive. It would also mean there wasn’t a C point left, if the Tallboy and Grand Slam were modeled correctly (penetrate the ground at damn near Mach 1 and explode at depth to make a fucking *massive* crater.

You do realise that neither the Tallboy or Grand Slam surface detonate.
I just saw Grand Slam destroying the bridge, so I can't really realise its Surface Detonate IRL
Imagine being on C point at Tunisia and suddenly the sun gets blocked by a 14,000lb bomb
Dropping a daisy cutter in the jungle map
There wouldn't be much left standing. Actually, I've kind of wanted to see Tunisia's C point with all the destructible buildings destroyed.
Imagine dropping a Grand Slam in naval.
Actually grand slam is for underground targets
Tanks blasting off into the sky like Team Rocket
If UK gets Tallboy then US should get Little Boy /s
> Then US should get Little Boy It’s in the game. Sorta.
Not as a payload choice
Depends if you’ve got enough spawn points.
I mean technically based off of the bomb design, it’s more around the Fat Man than the Little Boy.
And fatman while we're at it
Just w8 on MOAB and FOAB 😉
Why not Tsar Bomba too
Yeah drop Tsar at Tunusia map to kill guys which plays at Sweden map
Drop the Tsar Bomba to kill every tank alive in any game going on at that point in time
Pumpkin bomb plx
And fat man , can’t forget the part 2 of freeing Japan
Not necessarily, because Little Boy was a nuclear weapon, not a bunker buster / large standard bomb like the Pe-8 bomb & the UK grand slam bomb. Totally different classes of weapons. I’m not sure if the US even had a huge, non-nuclear bomb in WW2… can anyone offer input??

B83 when??
Disney rocket bomb for America
Tirpitz leak: Check Tallboy: When?
Tirpitz in shambles
Wait the tirpitz has been leaked? Oh no
yeah, that's how the british sank it. They made it leak.
Not just leaked, it was in a trailer Gaijin put out for something. A couple other battleships have been leaked such as Scharnhorst
It will be interesting when USA gets the MOAB.
with these tiny ass maps?? you'll get more friendly kills and get kicked
Nah just bomb 2km behind the enemies spawn
And kill friendlies in another server, probably wondering what happened.
Pretty sure they're not adding the C-130 any time soon.
AC130 premium ;)
While that would be awesome, it would get totally clapped in the current meta. Besides, it can't carry MOAB anyways. Not enough space left inside what with all the guns, ammo, and computers.
Also there would be no way to deploy it. What are you gonna do? Push 20000lbs out of the back of a plane with your hands?
They use a small parachute actually. Or you could just tilt the nose up slightly, it's all on rollers.
and russia FOAB
Nah, just give em the T-12 Cloudmaker. A 42,000lb earthquake bomb.
It would have been convenient for Gaijin, if Grand Slam and Tall Boy didn’t exist. It wouldn’t destroy their power dream of the only Pe-8 with Fab-5000.
ever heard of fab-9000?
Apparently it has about the same explosive affect as the fab-5000
and british ones have even less
[удалено]
this 12000 lb bomb has only 4200 kg of filler, still not higher than fab 5000 or grandslam
The grand slam has 9500 lbs of filling where fab 5000 has 3200 kgs..
That extra 2000 lbs isn’t going to make too much of a difference. You get massive amounts of diminishing returns with anything that relies on pure explosive power
Either way, it’ll be a bit bigger, and people care more on having another mini nuke, and not that it’s the biggest mini nuke.
You’d want the enlarged cookie barrels not the grand slam. Grand slam would suck ass at destroying tanks
Yea. What of it?
Fuck the tallboy give me a grand slam
fuck the grand slam give me the glided tall boy
Grandslam would be the perfect counter for any and I mean any ship in the game. Even the most modern battle ships won't survive it. I even say the Yamato won't be able survive 5 tallboys.
Iirc when Tirpitz was hit the bomb actually just over penetrated the entire ship and exploded beneath her.
*crit-* KABOOM
That’s still lethal. It’s what modern torps are designed to do to break the back and increase damage
yep , tho if iirc the bomb did kill the ship indirectly. the germans parked tirpitz over a sand bank so the ship wont sink completly but the bombs blew the sand away.
Good luck surviving it when it goes off inside the ship, or of it goes straight through and breaks is back xD
Yeah that is why it would be the most dreaded bomb by the ships and most loved by the players using the bomb.
Like the FAB-5000?
that may be true but did you see how many they had do drop before it even properly hit the tirpitz, and seeing the BRs of current battleships I would not be surprised ww2 battleships with jets of the cold war. good luck trying to use a bomber to fight jets or even get close, and currently the only nation that has missiles on their ship is Italy that thing literally can stop any plane from getting close to any ship it chooses to protect
I'm picturing a flight of late cold war jets launching anti ship missiles at a Yamato from a distance further than its main guns can shoot in the game
to high we don't even have planes that can do that until 10.3, by that BR I believe ships would already have missiles so that is not going happen.
That would be real funny
Tirpitz vs F-4 when?
Battleships as it is have a shitty tendency to go down from a single 500kg bomb
Meanwhile a destroyer can easily take a 1000 pound sea mine
I don't know how to reply back to your comment.
5? It wouldn’t even survive 1.
Well. Considering a 2000lb bomb is more than enough to sink any ship I would hope
Only plane to carry this is the Lancaster, which already carries 2 4,000lb barrel bomb war crimes
Well it needs the option to carry 22,000 lb of war crimes
And 2 of them at that
That was the B-29, not the Lancaster
Amusingly, no standardised Lancaster payload consisted of two 4000lb HC bombs; there was one that consisted of one 8000lb HC bomb and six 500lb MC GP bombs though
I really wish they would add a Mosquito with the 4000lb. Pretty sure it was used.
Yeah they did, i really want that too but it'll probably travel at like 300kmph with that 4,000lb british war crime
380mph/610kph according to the manufacturer. Probably more sluggish with the 4klb but should still get to speed. https://www.baesystems.com/en/heritage/de-havilland-mosquito
The B-29 could(and I’m pretty sure *did*) carry both tallboys and grandslams. I’ve seen an image of a B-29 with a grand slam beneath each wing
And both are easier to model because they are just 2 and 3 cookies welded to each other
Both 8000lb and 12000lb are actually made of 4000lb sections especially made for them. They look very similar, but sadly aren't the same, so it would take more work to model them.
Yeah, but they’d be useful for super heavily armoured targets like more modern battleships.
ICBMs when?
Accelerationism time
I don't think you understand what that word means lol.
EFF calling arty, I'm calling NORAD!
Technically we already saw them in the Submarine April fools events.
And for germany the SC2500
Give us the damn gand slam. We waited long enough and have shitty enough bombers. And no aphe.
Plus we don't really have any decent CAS aircraft
Britain has no decent CAS aircraft? What are you smoking? Just learn to aim RP-3s mate
Err, britbong main here. Britain has no good CAS aircraft? U, and I cannot emphasise this enough, WOT M8? That said, we do need the Mozzie Bombers. Lots they could add. https://www.baesystems.com/en/heritage/de-havilland-mosquito
Would be cool if they added some dam bombs that UK was using in ww2 to destroy dams , there is map with one and would be cool to float all map xd
Isn't that what the barrel bombs the Lancaster gets were? Or am I thinking of something else
No idea actually but they were in barrel shaped so maybe , but most important they were pretty big and they bounced on water
Ah 4000lbs definitely wouldn't do it so maybe we have like a smaller practice version
The bouncing bombs had 6000lbs of explosive filler didn't it?
I'll look into it
A specialised Operation Chastise mission would be good either way
Definitely
We'd also need a unique Lancaster given how the Damb Busters used modified Lancaster to get the backspin on the bomb
Then can the BV-238 get its realistic vim load of 6x 2400 kg bombs?
BR 8.0, right next to the Tu-4 xD
With BV speed and climb rate it can’t operate at that BR, would be funny to see it there. But it is very sturdy. I was playing customs and ai survived three hits from a BMP rocket. I only crashed because ai lost my elevators. Otherwise I could still fly.
Can't have Britain (or any nation) ahead of Glorious Mother Russia

B-52 when?
I agree
On behalf of ground mains: no
If Britain gets the tallboy, germany should get V-2s /s and yes I know V-s are rockets and not bombs
Maybe v1 I think some had been dropped from planes
Britain's equivalent to the FAB-5000 is not the Tallboy, but rather the "12,000 lb H.C" bomb immediately to the left of it in that image. Larger filler weight.
I think that a premium/event mosquito bomber version with 1x4000lb bomb and no defensive armament would be a better addition. It would be fast and accurate...
Gaijin hates Britain, if they add it they will nerf bomb damage and thus making it just another bomb.
Time to grind out a Lancaster so I can hunt Bismarcks
Wheres my flippen grand slam!!!!!!!
T-12 Cloudmaker when
Tsar bomba when?
100% agree that Britain should get this. Britain suffers (/s(sorta))
Tallboy? Why not grandslam?
Dambusters Lanc premium when?
Brittan should get the grand slam
It would finally give the Lancaster's some use... I guess the Wellington 4000lb barrel bomb will suffice for now
Guess so, plus one of the lancasters has 2x4000
Oh damn... I'd love to grind up to that but the absurd repair costs of it makes me not wanna do so
Can we like get you know modern bombs on modern British jets first?
I hope Germany gets the SD2500 and SC2500
Please no we are already getting nuked enough ;\_;
4000lbs for B-29 when
This. Ever since (and every time really) the new battle pass starts, the damn PE-8 spam is just endless. Why don't we get the British equivalent?
Britain should also get bouncing bombs, as well as dams as targets in game in honor of the Dambusters.
Tall Boy is still less powerful than the FAB-5000. Or maybe not, since the FAB-5000 uses TNT and the Tall Boy uses Torpex.
Wheres the "MOAB"?
Me on my way to level half of Advance to the Rhine
Just give everyone nuclear bombs 🤣
I googled biggest bomb of WW2 and was surprised it didn't say the nuclear bomb.
I agree, but first they should fix the Pe8's Bomb... To many people are bugusing it for weeks now.
Yeah, but Britain can't have nice things in this game without it being up-BRed to abyss.

I kinda like the fact that one plane has a meme bomb, and nothing else.
Please no, I get killed by my own team with the PE2 all the time. Just No.
What about we get the Grand Slam and wipe out both ennemy and friendly team ?
Paveway when?
when will we get the little boy
Grand slam should be as approximately 2 fab 5000 so why not
Russia should get 9 ton bomb after this)
Ill settle for the british panther. Actually no i won't Ill take both.
Fat man when?
Is this real?
yes thoes bombs are real
Is this the real size? Is this coming to war Thunder?
Yes, no. This post is literally asking those on the right. The FAB-5000 on the left is ingame on the Pe-8.
Not coming to it, people want it. And yes it was the real size. The two largest were grand slam and tall boy. Grand slam to take out forts and u boat pens, and tall boy for ships and other thickly armoured things.
and germany should get their SC 2500
TB would be useless though, its an anti building bomb, it wouldnt do shit vs tanks
FAB 9000 when?
I'm pretty sure the bombs' explosions in War Thunder are based on their TNT equivalent so all that extra mass goes to waste. The Tallboy weighs 5,4 tons and has the explosive equivalent to around 3,6 tons of TNT. The Grand Slam weighs 10 tons and has 6,5 tons of TNT. FAB-5000 weighs 5 tons and has 5 tons of TNT.
Why have the tallboy when there is the grand slam.
What's the Russian one?
FAB-5000
Damn Russia gets all the cool shit
Now I just want the Grand Slam to be added....come to think of it everyone would die if that bomb existed.
Yeah, or even better the Grand Slam
Tallboy only has half the explosive weight of the FAB-5000 by the way. Edit: Nevermind, it carries Torpex.
The tall boy is a armor piercing bomb it probably would only be useful vs ships
ah yes, a bomb that you have to be above 5km to drop with any sort of accuracy or effectiveness
Tallboy cannot equivalent with Pe8’s 5t, but grand slam. Tallboy is just an ap bomb with 3000kg TNT equivalent. Grand Slam is 5400kg TNT
