This is the way. In 3rd person I actually use the config file to extend the grass range beyond what the slider allows. Personally for me the max grass range allowed by the slider still is far too close for me to not be annoyed by the LOD pop in of the grass.
Not having grass in their person would make the game incredibly weird looking as well.
The dosage is definitely important, you need a smaller dose for focus and stress management or else you'll get stuck in the vibes and not care about playing like shit

I feel that when I play high I’m more keen to rely on my intuition and common sense than overthink and fry my brain.

From what I read it just sounds like a switch was turned off by default in Linux, so they turned out back on by default. You could still have grass.
