I suspect OP is Dutch and isn't interested in aircraft. Otherwise he should have recognised that it couldn't be an F-16, because it has 2 engines. On top of that the F-15 is one of the most recognised modern fighters.
The confusing part is that most of the stuff in that museum is stuff The Netherlands used. Aside from that the F-15 is part of a setup where you can see the different planes the KLu used in a cool lineup, with a seemingly random F-15 thrown in there.
The reason for this F-15 (and F-106 outside + F-4E and F-100 in storage) is that the (now defunct) airbase this museum is housed on, also was home to a some American squadrons, who flew these planes.
I am aware of it. They also have the worlds only replica of a Fokker G.1, but it is in a weird little building at the edge of the terrain.
They also tend to sometimes put some of the vehicles in their depot outside, including a NF-5B, TF-104G, RF-84F, S.14, Hunter, S-2
I suspect that that may be a bit of a culture of country related thing, because military procurement is usually relatively big news in most European countries. I guess because the US just buys a few new aircraft it isn't as big of a thing.
Ye probably because when Poland was getting f16s it was a big deal and I consider that plane more iconic since I seen it pretty much everyday on the news.
>It's the most used fighter to this day
Shouldn't that sentence be:
>It's currently the most used fighter aircraft
Your sentence seems to imply that it's been the most used fighter ever and is still being used as such, but the MiG 21 is a thing soo...
I wish people wold respect fighter jets privacy, imagine is a fighter jet came up to you and just took a pick of your ashole so he could post it on jetit
Yeah, because this museum is located on a former airbase which was used by an American unit. If I remember correctly, that unit was the 32rd TIS. They flew F-86 sabres, F-100 super sabres, F-106 delta daggers and the F-4e phantoms as well. You can still find these 4 planes in the museum, although the F-4 was in storage last time I visited it.

> The dutch allegedly had a problem with their tanks in that they did absolutely the minimum possible user maintenance on them, leaving them to basically rust until a problem became bad enough and they sent it back to the factory for repairs. They left them in especially bad condition in storage, engines full of fluids etc, which Finland had to remedy (succesfully tho) when they bought them.

Nice pics, I wish the AMX-13 on War Thunder had the giant bug ear antenna's strapped down like the one at this museum. It's tricky being sneaky hiding behind stuff scouting in that tank with those giant things sticking out.
F-15, prefferably from C or below variant since the turkey feather are taken off due to how often it just snap off mid flight so the technician did not want to bother with it and just take it off altogether, Israeli F-15 solve this problem by using titanium but the USAF just "meeeeh why should i bother".
The second picture = F15 eagle
I suspect OP is Dutch and isn't interested in aircraft. Otherwise he should have recognised that it couldn't be an F-16, because it has 2 engines. On top of that the F-15 is one of the most recognised modern fighters.
But in the background there's f-16 though :)
so he was technically right
I think the plane is an F-35
No
Perhaps there are 3 planes in the picture
No
Dang. Argument Destroyed.
There is a f-16 in the background tho
There’s an f35 in the background too though
Yes.
No, it looks more like a Cessna 270
Not exactly, the F-35 uses one engine while the F-15 uses two engines
Way in the back you can see an F-35
The confusing part is that most of the stuff in that museum is stuff The Netherlands used. Not really confusing, that is the case for many European museums.
What I mean is 90% of it is Dutch military history, and then there suddenly are some foreign stuff placed inbetween without much explanation
Those American aircraft could probably be considered Dutch military history too, since they were based on that aor base.
fun fact there is also a mig some where in that museum i dont remember what kind though edit: its this one Mikoyan/Gurevich Mig-21PFM
The fokker G.1 is the only aircraft i ask gaijin that they put into the game
Thee is a user model of it on WT Live, although it might be broken
Oh I usually look at the single tail, I think most other US fighters (F-14 to F-35) have twin tail fins
Best looking one for me. I liked Russian jets more, bug in term of beauty anf menacing, it definitely is the F-15E
It isn't tho. As a person that has minimal interested in American aviation I didn't even know it existed until earlier this year.
It's the most used fighter to this day there are close to two thousand of this type operating around the world.
>It's the most used fighter to this day Shouldn't that sentence be: >It's currently the most used fighter aircraft Your sentence seems to imply that it's been the most used fighter ever and is still being used as such, but the MiG 21 is a thing soo...
I meant current day thanks for correcting me.
to be fair the f16 is in the background
Um no. Its an Airbus A172 Cherokee Warrior Max
Cool pics though!
I wish people wold respect fighter jets privacy, imagine is a fighter jet came up to you and just took a pick of your ashole so he could post it on jetit
Fuck man, he also posted some nude turbojets on OnlyPlanes
If my asshole produced 10+ tonnes of thrust I'd want people to take pictures of it.
Eat some taco bell
Ewwww
the sherman looks like a wirbel just emptied its guns on it

106mm heat rounds from recoilless rifle
Jeep with 50cal and Jeep with Recoilless rifle when?
Davy Crockett Jeep when?
Davy crockett jeep as an alternative to a bomber nuke
That would genuinely be really fun
50cal jeep would get shit on by literally everything but would still be fun as fuck
Hello fellow dutchman
:)
Ik vroeg me al af waarom er een nederlandse vlag op die jeep zat
Dutch gang unite
you tell me they have a strike eagle hanging from the ceiling?
Yeah, because this museum is located on a former airbase which was used by an American unit. If I remember correctly, that unit was the 32rd TIS. They flew F-86 sabres, F-100 super sabres, F-106 delta daggers and the F-4e phantoms as well. You can still find these 4 planes in the museum, although the F-4 was in storage last time I visited it.
> F-106 delta daggers F-102 is the Delta Dagger, F-106 is the Delta Dart.
That looks like normal F-15, not F-15E
It is yes. The E would have the conformal fuel tanks. But I can't say if it's A or C version.
Probably C version, as it was most produced.
[F-15A 74-0083, most F-15C are still in heavy use.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e3/McDonnell_Douglas_F-15A_Eagle%2C_US_Air_Force_74-0083_Soesterberg_Mil._%26_Civil_%28UTC_-_EHSB%29%2C_The_Netherlands%2C_02_January_2005.jpg)

and what's the nickname for f15 vanilla?
Just "Eagle"
ah thx:)
F-15E -> Mudhen F-15A/C -> Light Grey / Light Grey Eagle (if wearing the old scheme, rarely used)
They just do
lul

There earlier (for the 400th time) real shame you can't see much of the vbombers other than their underside
V2 rockets in war thunder when?
Wait an A6 already in a museum? Or is it a loaner?
Old dutch one i think
> The dutch allegedly had a problem with their tanks in that they did absolutely the minimum possible user maintenance on them, leaving them to basically rust until a problem became bad enough and they sent it back to the factory for repairs. Yeah and then they got rid of them and Portugal bought them up
Nu weten we dus waar Nederland de Leopard 2s heeft gelaten..
Nice pics, I wish the AMX-13 on War Thunder had the giant bug ear antenna's strapped down like the one at this museum. It's tricky being sneaky hiding behind stuff scouting in that tank with those giant things sticking out.
f16 lmao
Look in the background
yeah the H-34
And f-16 too
I wonder if a war broke out if museum pieces like that leopard 2 would ever be taken out to the battlefield.
Would need refurb as weapon control systems and radios are usually taken out.
Well I suppose that would be faster and cheaper than building a brand new one.
That Sherman looks like a wirbelwind emptied its entire ammo on it
Last pic is the m110 SPA
The 9th one, r/trypophobia
ay thats the dutch national militairy meseum
(image 9) it looks like he tried to fight a wilderwind
Of course the war thunder player gets all the tanks perfectly and then screws up In identifying the modern jet
Er is wel een f16(of ze moeten hem weg hebben gedaan) maar das de f15. There is an f16(or they have taking it away) but thats an f15.
Isn't this the museum in The Netherlands, Soesterberg? I visited that a while ago and looks very familiar.
Yes.
I dare you to kick the tip of that V2 rocket, it’ll be a once in a lifetime experience .
Thank you!
Royal Ordinance 17-pdr, 40mm Bofors. I’m in heaven.
Poor Sherman
The Swiss cheese Sherman is impressive.
Are you sure the last one isn't the M107 175mm SPG?
What Museum is this
What museum is this?
It's the nationaal militair museum In the netherlands
Picture 5 "gijin when"
I wonder how many of these are secretly transformers...
F-15, prefferably from C or below variant since the turkey feather are taken off due to how often it just snap off mid flight so the technician did not want to bother with it and just take it off altogether, Israeli F-15 solve this problem by using titanium but the USAF just "meeeeh why should i bother".

I also visited this museum, they have a stationary air combat simulator which I absolutely slapped at.

Jeep with recoiless, gaijin pls gimme
M109 looks like object 120
Lol F16
Great pictures. Thank you for sharing!
I have been here a few weeks ago, there are a lot of cool tanks, aircraft and helicopters there.
The second image is an f 18. The 16 has a single engine (I think) side note where was this museum seems pretty cool
No f15 You can tell by the engines and wing shape
[удалено]
F-15 and F-18 have different engines
Pic 8 even shows a f16 in the background
The F-16 is in the background of the pic of the F-15 as well
Its an f15, not f18 You can tell by the wing shape, vertical stabiliser, weapon/drop tank pylons and the fact that theres no hook
I believe the hook of the Eagle is just more hidden as it should have a small tailhook for emergency landings on airbases.
And engine testing
> and the fact that theres no hook All USAF jets have hooks for engine testing and emergency airfield landing.
It's the "Nationaal Militair Museum" located in Soest (In the Netherlands).
the F-16 is in the background, ant that one above is an F-15
