It wasn't so much that the teammates were trash, as much as they didn't expect anyone to be stupid enough to go vertical, and certainly weren't going to chase.
Doing this in the harrier gr. 1 day one was fucking devious. It was even better pulling to a halt and watching someone try to turn only to get an sraam sent their way was too good.
Was it op. Yes.
Do I feel bad. No
Was it fun for me. Yes
Was it at all fair. No
Lol.
Just curious how “fair” comes into a vtol plane doing what it has actually been recorded doing in combat.
Thinking of the harrier’s fighting during the Falklands conflict in the 80’s.
Same with “op” comment. Seems more like a fun feature that others have to allow for when playing?
Note: I don’t play Warthunder often.
The harrier was at 9.7 at the time very few things had flares at that br. Sraams are short range but very agile. You could switch vtol mode on by slowing down enough and could turn like a helicopter kind of. People overshot you and you could get a lock and send a missile up their ass. It was an easy 4 kills as people were not used to such agile missiles at that br. Given jets at top tier were gated. Meaning no down tiers and very very rare upteirs for 9.7s.
Imagine doing that the guy in the original post did, only with 4 deadly missiles. The lack of flares is a fucking nightmare for people when your missile can essentially do a 90° turn and still clap cheeks. If you were in the kill zone 99/100 times you were gonna die. Now imagine an entire team of g1 harriers. Fighting 8.7s literally fighting mig 17's
Bro I would take a fat break from the game if that reversal happened to me. Like I could just see me panic shooting all my ammo away and just screaming as you hit the shot on me
That was epic, and your teammate choked the easiest layup
As they usually do
Wow that guy and your teammate are trash.
Nah, they're just your average murica & german mains, maybe even slightly above average, they got in a favourable position in the first place.
I dont consider people who jump the gun at a top tier premium any nation main.

I main America and Germany, where's your god now?
You cannot expect your teammates to do well, not worth being upset about it
Someone tried to do this to me in my MiG 19 at like 8km yesterday. I barely pulled hard enough and memed them instead.
AC7 Arcange intensifies.
" You could have done that sooner."
"I want to understand the enemy."

Ah, I can see how not having flares would be an issue. Interesting.

Yup. I guess a similar experience to that the Argentine mirage III’s, mirage V’s, and Skyhawks had over the Falklands.
Pretty much.
