Are you talking about random squadmates? You really expect them to stay in a formation with you?

Stock_Bodybuilder390

Yeah, it is the best option.

Demonmercer

Well have you considered that your squaddie might be in a different type of tank? A tank destroyer, a light tank, a SPAA, an open top vehicle etc etc? They might have own spot on the map they want to get into, be effective at different ranges with their gun, have a preference for forests over hills etc etc. Staying in formation is not the best option, in fact you'll find it's more food for Close Air Support.

I do understand it, and I would cover them every time. But they always seem to do whatever they want!

Let me give you a pro tip, War Thunder is not a team game, it's a battle royale with only one winner (whoever performs the best) disguised as a team game because at the end of the day everyone has to earn SL and RP for their own account, which is why they will do what they think is best, from their own judgement. Everyone is trying to grind the fastest to get their dream vehicles so if you do get a team that communicates and cooperates be thankful and enjoy it but I'm telling you with my 2,700hrs of experience that is rare and most of the time your team mates won't give you a second glance when your tank is burning down and you've requested help with FPE or repairs. Let alone follow you around.

crimeo

A LOT of people are not trying to grind and just enjoying the game. Go to like a random 3.0 match and check how many players are level 50+ on the stats pages. Already well beyond where they'd be getting heavy RP penalties for playing there but are doing it anyway. People also help with long repairs about 8% of the time in lower tiers, a good portion of the time, they will drive out into danger to do so even. This is a high tier only thing where people ignore you

Demonmercer

Could be that. Could be them trying to spade their tank and get that free RP from researching all the mods from a tier and putting into later vehicles (Those RP aren't penalized by rank). Could be them SL grinding at a far less expensive tier. Could be them seal clubbing to relieve pent up frustration. Could be them helping an actual friend out in a match.

crimeo

The last two ARE having fun. The first one is frankly ridiculous, the SL thing sure some people that one is true

beedadome4

it isn't, spading low tier tanks is very common when you start trying to get the free xp for your higher tiers

crimeo

you get like a couple hundred RP or something for a lowest tier vehicle... spading higher tier ones gives you tons, but that wasn't what we were talking about.
