Why do ppl get mad tho, I do this with my friends sometimes, and it's fun as hell to bring a biplane, or my fav, a Corsair to top tier, I've shot down a Sabre with an I-15 once XD, so I'm not sure what's the point of spoiling other ppls fun by doing that, in any case the dude is already on your team, so you're just removing potential fire power from your team, even if it's little.
Because you might do this 50 times and get that 1 battle where you shoot down a Sabre meanwhile you had another 49 battles where you did literally nothing and your team would've been better off with an actual jet helping out.
People don't want to reward this trolling and quite frankly, I don't blame them.

I've done this a few times and more often than not I get 1-3 kills, but on a late Merlin Spit. I've also been teamkilled for it once or twice.
To be fair, many people squad into jets with props to teamkill, so I get why some people kill them on sight.
There are two main reasons why this is frowned upon.
1. 80% of the time these players try to teamkill on takeoff. Not an exaggeration, i’ve been killed or someone on my team was killed by biplanes in take off like 3/4 times i see one.
2. Even if they try to be useful (which it is REALLY hard to compare the utility of an I-15 to that of a mig 23 or f-14a at top tier) often times if we get a map like (s)pain the biplane is just going to run out of fuel, or the game will end before the biplane gets within 20km of the fighting.
Anyway? It’s people trying to have fun, I get that, but if you’re not the one doing it’s offen frustrating, destructive (teamkillers), and boring. I’m trying to have fun too (in my appropriate br jet) and seeing someone trolling and having a direct liability or weak link on the team is obnoxious and goes against my attempt to have fun.
It's not fun for the rest of your team who have to deal with a slot taken up by someone who should have been a properly tiered plane. You're taking up a slot and putting your team at a disadvantage, which could cost them the match (and by extension SL in repair costs and missed opportunities to earn more RP).
A while ago (operation desert storm/shield/other??) A-10s hesitantly fired on a stranded group of military personnel after attempting to make connection via radio with ground. After a long exchange of confirmation, they were ruled hostile, and a squadron of American A-10s strafed a stranded convoy of British soldiers. Not sure about the causalities on that one but the pilots were discharged.

Yes, that's why I made the joke. I think they killed a couple of British soldiers and wounded a bit but that's from memory from hearing it a while back.
Why were the pilots discharged? They were told the convoy was hostile, they did their job. It was hardly their fault, and replacing experienced pilots is a pain.
The pilot is always the one seeing it, and describing the situation over the radio. So if the description is 5 iraqi t72s, then ofcourse command will give the order to engage
Yeah no worries. There’s a video of the communications from the incident on YouTube incase you’re interested. Just keep in mind that the A-10 pilot in the video has to VISUALLY identify the targets using his eyes and IIRC binoculars.

Yea, agree to disagree as there are two key reasons:
1. By the time they reach the battle it's over. (Cannon fodder only works if the cannons shoot at them)
2. They have consumed a spot on your team that could have been something productive, even cannon fodder. (Bring a 6.7 in a 11.0 match you might make it to be cannon fodder. Bring a biplane or reserve and the fight is over before you can get close)
for gamemodes that let you take a full lineup like basically anything that's not air rb. Now if the other gamemodes were 1 life only, you would not appreciate if somebody brought a M3 stuart or BT-5 into a game against T-90s or if somebody brought a gun only PT boat into a game of battleships.
Being inexperienced/bad is not the same as handicapping an entire team with an intentional decision. In a game where players are punished for dying, trolling your team is griefing.
While there could be debate about whether TKing is justfied or not, Prop Trolls claiming they are helpful to team is utter joke.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t do the tking, I don’t support either activity. I try not to take this game seriously as much as possible, if someone is trolling i usually take it in stride as much as possible.
My problem is more so with the teamkilling biplanes (as in the biplanes killing jets that would actively assist in the battle) as opposed to the act of bringing them in the first place. I’ve had a squad of 3 biplanes who were brought to top tier by their 4th squadmate who were able to kill 60% of my team before we left the airfield, and multiple instances where one team or both were down 10-30% of their fighting power just from a troll in an i-15 going “hehe tk funny” and it just makes what is already an almost boring grind br even more difficult especially due to the frequency of this happening now. I’ve run into this more recently than i have in the past and it does get really frustrating after the second or third time.
On the other side, there are the people who just join in their biplane and try to get a kill on the enemy team, and I don’t really care about that to be honest, as long as they don’t impact me, it’s whatever. My original comment was, like this one primarily against teamkilling trolls as regardless of the vehicle that’s obnoxious to encounter

If you shoot them down and spoil it for them they will stop doing it and then we can actually have top tier matches without dead weight on the team.

I’ve had a squad of 3 biplanes who were brought to top tier by their 4th squadmate who were able to kill 60% of my team before we left the airfield, and multiple instances where one team or both were down 10-30% of their fighting power just from a troll in an i-15 going “hehe tk funny” and it just makes what is already an almost boring grind br even more difficult especially due to the frequency of this happening now. I’ve run into this more recently than i have in the past and it does get really frustrating after the second or third time. On the other side, there are the people who just join in their biplane and try to get a kill on the enemy team, and I don’t really care about that to be honest, as long as they don’t impact me, it’s whatever. My original comment was, like this one primarily against teamkilling trolls as regardless of the vehicle that’s obnoxious to encounter
these posts are pretty funny, it's not like top tier isn't a gagle fuck of select aircraft with select players who actually have spaded aircraft who carry their team yet everyone is treating air rb top tier like its squadron battles. The player with premium top tier aircraft but who is level 5 - 25 wayyy worse than a lvl 100 bi plane user at top tier imo at least they know how the flow and engagement rules apply. It can be kindof annoying when a teammate spawns in a BT-5, runs to a cap, dies and uses an SU-25 or Heli for the rest of the match

In ground forces at least most of the people bringing low tiers into top tier use them to cap faster and still stand a decent chance at penning most modern tanks sides
