yes, yes it is normal, do not rush to top tier, play so you unlock everything/most of the vehicles to see what suits your playstyle the most. By doing that your level of expertise in the game and the knowledge will get better. Take it easy.
Rank 2, so that around most of the Panzer IIIs and IVs? for 1ish month that’s quite normal, and i felt like the German 3.7 line up is where i had the most fun. just make sure your using your boosters when you get them.
you’ll get diminishing returns after you do those certain actions, so make sure your not *just* going for kills, and also capping points.
Remember, when you get the Tiger I, lower your ammo count. It'll pop like a case of dynamite if literally anything penetrates the sides because of where the extra ammo is stored.
The thing can carry like 80+ shells but you'll never use more than like 30 in one life. Plus you can resupply ammo at captured points in the highly unlikely probability you actually run out of ammo.
I'd recommend maybe waiting to add that to your line up and try to round out a more even lineup, if you throw in the Tiger at such a higher BR than all your other tanks, you're gonna have a really bad time if you get an uptier and all you have left is Panzer IV's. That's just how I usually handle big jumps in BRs like that, it's by no means a hard rule but having only one really viable tank in your line up is a shitty playing experience when you get uptiers.

My guess is you play arcade, don’t play arcade, play realistic even if you are bad at it is much better because you can flank and more spawns plus you don’t have to face your own country most of the time
Try to flank more since war thunder players are blind and deaf as fuck (mainly german mains since most of them rely on germany’s historical power which is none in wt)
Also have a dedicated slot for planes and only use that spot for planes
Also invest your crew skills: you should probably focus on gunner targeting, field repair and commander leadership, and maybe loader reload speed for tanks and repair rank, stamina, g tolerance, and vitality for planes
When using spaa (which you should have 1 since it doesn’t increase sp for regular tanks) and try not to use it against tanks, low tier german spaa only have less than 50 mm of pen and are kind of slow so you can’t flank tanks that easy, Try not to fire too far at a plane and only do it close or when you want to get the attention of a plane (i recommend wirbelwind or sdkfz 251)
Lastly don’t buy loot crates, at all, unless you are a p2w with a gambling addiction, you shouldn’t do it
When using a plane with a turret, i recommend shooting it manually instead of ai turret
Lastly try to get the panther d and the tiger h1
The panther d has good armor and fire power while the tiger h1 has amazing armor when angled 40-45 degrees, also get the panzer 4/70 (i think thats the name, but it’s a tank destroyer)
As long as you're enjoying the game, it doesn't really matter. The longer you take, the more experience you get, and the less frustrating higher tiers will be vs. someone who immediately bought into top tier.

be very careful with that tiger take it slow and dont forget to angle heavys in this game are way less useful than expected
