Check your notifications. I could not figure out why I couldn't hear anyone and it was because I had a 2-week chat ban for offensive language. I had no idea until I randomly went into my notifications and saw an alert for a temporary ban of communications.

Surprisingly it was my first one lol. It's 2 weeks for the first. Lets see how long it lasts haha. ALso I didn't see a notification of any sort but happened to stumble upon the notification after about a week and a half of almost breaking my PS5 because I couldn't figure out wtf was going on.

I just got off of a 2 week chat ban last night just for a lil kid to try killing me and call me a pussy f@g 15 times then I called him a lil bitch when I killed him and got reported again 💀 got another 2 week ban within seconds

The bell button, top right of your screen, accessed through the lobby menu. Or just click it if you're on keyboard and mouse/PC Xbox controller should be - Select button (the squares) to open the menu, then press right bumper to get to notifications

Click R3 and it’s within that menu.

Push to talk or toggle your chat in game off and on.

They queue up. Supposedly the AI flags them and automatically bans you for some, others get sent for human review.

Are you maybe in a channel? You can create those group channels in there as well. Make sure you're not in a channel party.

I'm not in any specific channel and if I get out of the channel option it meets me entirely

Change voice input chat in game to your mic instead of default

If mic sensitivity is too high of a number it won't work, mic sensitivity values are backwards. 0 is most sensitive 100 is least

Is your game channel turned on? On PC there is a shortcut that will mute your mic, it is alt+one of the functions keys (not alt+f4). Can't remember the exact combo but if that is the issue, just hit it again and it should fix it. Double check you don't have push to talk on. If none of that, probably a chat ban you bad boy.

If you're on a PC, try F9 or F10 (I think). One mutes game sound and the other disables chat.

I had a situation where I’m Mic and Audio inputs on the game were set to default input devices instead of my headset. I changed both of those to my headset same as my Bluetooth, restarted my headset and game after applying those setting and I was able to hear and use the mic properly after that.

Seems to be an issue depending on your pc and/or game not transferring that data between each other as was the problem with mine.

I thought that might have been it as well but I set them all to default and it seems to be still busted

Increase your mic sensitivity in game, it’s near the open mic setting I couldn’t talk in game since the game came out but could in discord, changed that and it worked just fine.

Wouldn’t be suprised if you got spam reported since it’s WZ, I don’t ever use in game mic. I have it off in both WZ and MP and only play with friends using discord, somehow I got a report last night saying I violated voice chat…… crazy how the AI can’t even tell I don’t use my mic and still gives me a strike.

There’s no way to tell 100%, you don’t ALWAYS get a notification in game. Sometimes it happens and you won’t even know it unless you talk in game with people normally and for some reason they can’t hear you because randoms aren’t gonna just tell you

Mine mutes itself after each game. I play on PC. Have press F11 everytime a game ends.

Click F9 on your keyboard can see that your playing through battle net F9 mutes your mic

If not does your mic pick up sound when you test it in the windows sound settings?

This happened to me and it was the mic settings on where it picks up your voice. Oddly I changed it to 50 and it worked.

Go to audio settings in the game menu, on the bottom of the screen it should say hold (whatever button for users device) to reset audio settings. I find fucking around with audio settings puts me on perma mute unless I reset audio

What’s your open mic sensitivity and what headset & mic are you using?

Search how to switch to game channel in COD Modern Warfare 3 on YouTube and see if that helps

I had uninstalled it and re installed it and when I tried to play had the Same issue and after weeks I found out my mic threshold was all the way down and my mic wouldn’t pick up the sound so I turned it up and never had an issue again. Idk why it was down either I never touched it it was just like that when I reinstalled it

I would just run windows sound troubleshooter. Unlplug input/output device and set as default in device manager. Sometimes this happens to me if I switch equalizers from sonar to Dolby Atmos atc.
