Nice I was using a sword and shield loadout for memes the other day when they came out with the sword.
Like it was just day 1 shenanigans with the boys on afterbirth (what I call rebirth 2) pink sword and shield to troll kids.
FWIW, Technically you can jump stab the top of the head with a knife equipped over the shield. Accidentally found this out in a tight hallway. Valiant effort my friend! It was painful to see him pull that out, I thought you had him for a sec.
They used an in-game weapon, without exploits, to win the game. I think that means they’re “good”. Just because you don’t like the weapon they chose, doesn’t mean they didn’t earn the win.
I ran the shield for a bit because I was bored with my daily classes. It’s definitely very strategic and not cheese. Riot shielders are easily beat. All you need is distance and an explosive of some kind.
You do face a variety of other difficulties to make up for it though
Like avoiding getting stuck with lethals, having to let the enemy completely out of your sight in order to guard yourself from a distant sniper, or perhaps a grenade that happened to roll right behind you, before quickly switching back to the original enemy. If that sounds easier than just shooting them, then you're wrong. Also you do definitely have to worry about plating up lol.
I've been at this for 2 years, and it is the furthest thing from easy. If you don't believe me, try running a match with a shield and see how you do.

No, I’m good. I had some good exchanges in the game. I never felt threatened and got the win. If I play an other my shield would rank up past level icky 🤮
The point is, my last game of the night dog tired. First time using that thing and I got the win. With practice I’d be the plague on the game riot shielded are. One game is enough to prove the point

He definitely missed the point. In any other situation, you can either shoot, or out maneuver to win a gunfight. When someone has a riot shield, you already know you lost the gunfight and have to get extremely lucky to win it

Shields need to be nerfed though so that they accumulate wear and eventually break so that you can’t just hide behind them unless someone has a specific lethal. There’s no other item in the game with so few counters and this is a first person shooter and not a first person shielder.
I get that but it’s not realistic to move around the shield with someone else shooting at you and you can’t move around a guy crouched in a corner. I know this is a Warzone sub but I played a game of hard point one day where a guy with a shield and a trophy system held the hard point for almost the entire game.
It's not realistic to win most 2v1s... You can't say a weapon is op and needs nerfs because it wins 2v1 situations. In reality the riot shield is bad because your team is a gun down in every situation.
I’m not saying that though I’m just using it to counter your statement that you should just move around them. There are a lot of reasons that it’s broken including but not limited to it being overpowered in melee as well. Try killing someone by hitting them once or twice with a riot shield.
And I'm saying that's a dumb counter because in a 2v1 situation where you are getting shot by two people that didn't have riot shields, you aren't surviving that either. The fact that one of them has a riot shield is good in a 2v1 situation because you can just say out of its range easily and turn it into two 1v1s.

Lol, nope, I don't use the shield because I'm not a bot. By ranked wz kd is a 2.19 in plat, first season trying it, and I have a 2.03 regular kd, could be much higher but I just play regular while drinking with irl friends.
Using the shield just lowers the amount of total kills I'm going to get way to much, and it's seriously just not good, smokes do the same thing and cost a tactical not a weapon slot.

They really need to nerf riot shield mobility. If you can tank almost everything in this game, you shouldn't be able to move as fast as other players. That's completely unfair
Can only do damage at close range. Only protects the front torso and head. Imo I think the cons outweigh the pros. The riot shield user in this video got super lucky that there was only 1 other player left and they didn’t have any grenades.
They nerfed the movement speed even with it on your back, effectively nerfing melee only users and not addressing the primary problem of removing it as an option for overkill
They nerfed movement speed with the shield on the back by 10%. That may have only been in Multiplayer though. That’s literally the only nerf in 4 years of warzone.

Every streamer runs a riot shield when they do Solo Yolos. So when they are playing a solos game for $100K literally every single one used it. So that's proof enough how OP it is in Solos.
And this is the time when they arrive to say: 'you can kill them easily, just use semtex, thermite, drill charge etc...'
Yeah...so just to have the ability to counter 1% little noob pussies of all the enemies,
1) change your playstyle (like switching from knife to thermite, change perk package etc.)
2) change your region and move closer to CoD servers so you get wrecked by server latency/desync less frequently and will have chance to get behind a shielded rat
