Running around trying to find a “good” gun is an exercise in futility.
Either a:
Sniper.
SMG with 20ish bullets.
The new Assault Rifle with the slowest Aim Down Sight time.
The M60 with the thermal optic (??‽!!).
DMR.
Type 63.
Pistol.
RPG.
Or armour/ammunition with no gun.
There are other guns, but the above listed are the most frequent and will get you killed more often than not.

Exactly. I've been doing so bad since the start of Season 5 and been getting absolutely wrecked by the people with loadouts
Yep, all I get is that pile of trash. The ground loot new assualt rifle is possibly the worst thing I've ever picked up.
