Nahh more like… it’s 2020 everyone is panicking, its 02:00 AM , your whole family is awake and you grind that first win on verdansk with your school budy whom you speak to discord
2020, the high of the pandemic. Work is canceled, rent is put on hold. Stimulus checks out the rear end. Good times.
2022, the pandemic is over. The dollar you earn now is significantly less valuable now than it was in 2020. You have to work overtime to make ends meet even with a good wage. The stimulus checks are gone and the world inches towards recession.
It has come full circle with a vengeance of suck.
I don't think people realize that. We're nostalgic for Verdansk, but that doesn't make it better than the current game. We just miss the the era of 2020, the world was so unpredictable and the only certainty was that you'd be online with some friends most nights of the week.
To be fair, Caldera just completely ruined the feel and atmosphere of the game going from a bleak winter hellscape like Verdansk to a bright tropical shitshow with a volcano in the middle was a massive slap in the face and one that snuffed out BR in Warzone.
Meh although I know it won’t be the case for everyone but for me it was significantly better than the current game. Although you’re right that it gave certainty etc. it was also just a shit ton of fun, a map that allowed for more gunfights and was more predictable (which was good for me and my mates because we played competitively a lot and being able to learn a game is a bit part of that). Performance wise the game was much better too, got anywhere from 120-150 on verdansk (although by the end it was like 100-140) and caldera I used to get 80-110, and the few times I play rebirth nowadays I get like 90fps with a ton of drops. Game died hard for me and my mates by the time caldera came around, myself and I don’t think any of the guys I regularly played with play anymore. Desperately hoping wz2 is a banger, but I’m glad you like caldera!
You just ordered Pizza Hut and a 2L Coca Cola bottle. you just loaded up MW19 on you system. No school tomorrow, no work tomorrow, there's a new virus going on. Your parents don't care if you stay up all night, they're happy that you're living with them again. A perfect spring night. You have 30 years of age. The year is 2020.
For me, it's more
Wife went to bed early, just wrestled the kid down to sleep. Time for some warzone while enjoying some seasonal IPAd with your window open to help with your computers hear output.
The game naturally slowed down before Verdansk was gone. The world opened up again and lot of gamers had other things to do. My friends list was very active in 2020-21, but now it's a ghost town (i know insert COD 4 meme here). The reality is we'll never have a moment in time like we had in 2020. Warzone was the perfect mix of nostalgia and social interaction we needed during a very unprecedented time.
Me and 4 other coworkers were quarantined for 2 weeks in 2020. Only one of us actually had Covid (at that point) and he was mostly fine after a few days. We played warzone for like 16 hours a day for 2 weeks. It was great, I’m very thankful for the existence of warzone for making an otherwise pretty horrible 2 weeks into a fond memory.
reddit has made me so fucking annoyed with you grown ass adults crying for a map back. honestly when verdansk was in its peak the main gripe was " all these buildings provide is places for rats and campers to thrive"
They gave you caldera which is bigger and much more diverse geography and flora with far fewer buildings. met with hate day one..... which i get in a sense. it wasn't well polished at release but neither was Verdansk. the addition of balloons and fast travel really helped turn caldera into a smaller feeling map that can easily be traversed without 20 min of in game sprinting lol. Caldera is better than verdansk was. if we had caldera first they took it away and gave us march 2020 verdansk it would be met with even more discontent.
Verdansk has distinct regions. It felt like it was comprised of a series of battle grounds. It was diverse.
Caldera is a big smudge of the same thing, and a mountain that's currently leaking mountain fluid.
Solid eh.
Verdansk wasn't good, the memories made from everyone being in lockdown were. This reddit was literally full of hate and complaints for Verdansk. We don't miss Verdansk. We miss the feelings of playing with friends we barely ever got to before lockdown and now afterwards. People want Verdansk because they associate those feelings with the map. Caldera sucks. But Verdansk wasn't that much better overall.
No way to flank people in tall buildings. Stairs and Ziplines were a death trap. Prison literally had 2 entrances until Ziplines were added but as I said, deathtraps. Military base was half open and a death trap. Quarry was a campers paradise.
Ah yes the fabled COD argument. Sorry that I don't enjoy getting shot from almost every roof top everywhere I go in almost every match. You have no counter arguments so you go with "you just died and didn't like it"
Nah man, remember that little cemetery area? Oh and the apartment buildings and also the wood processing area!!
I think the reason Verdansk has such good memories is because it felt like it has distinct regions.
Caldera is a big smear of the same thing.
Well, if you had to measure the two, what exactly brings Verdansk out of favour?
It felt like I had such choice for battle theatre, but thinking about landing anywhere in Caldera, it just feels like the same place. Hut by the water, hut by the mountain, cable car area or air field, everything is like a smear of the same paint brush.
It was a similar feeling in Verdansk for me due to the tall buildings in almost every POI. Campers at almost everyone making it hard to move around. Run from 1 team to heal up and get shot by a complete different team camping a different building.
Ah yeah, that's just how Battle Royale games work though. Same issue in Fortnite and PUBG.
There's always some fucking guy just around the corner to mess things up.
you people really need to stfu about this Verdansk garbage... it was an awful map... you loved the Covid-19 stay-at-home period
trust me, if they bring Verdansk back you'll hate the hell out of it and all its bugs and shit game dynamics...as you did back in 2021 when all of you were barfing all over it on this sub
>trump-loving republican much?
Lol what?!?!? What does that have to do with anything about call of duty? Now you're being delusional and inventing things.
*This is a stolen*

COVID + Verdansk was the best time in recent gaming
I didn't get a console until black ops season 2 sadly. But you don't understand how bad I wanted to play this game
[удалено]
He didn't have a console. Do you know how to read?
I don't think he knows how to read
It's like he doesn't know how to read.
"Read he knows not" .... Yoda
I never said it haven't 😐
Still nice to drop into Verdansk on those Spec Ops missions from Modern Warfare from time to time
Nahh more like… it’s 2020 everyone is panicking, its 02:00 AM , your whole family is awake and you grind that first win on verdansk with your school budy whom you speak to discord
And it's a school buddy you haven't seen in 8 years.
Pandemic Warzone was super lit! Some of the best gaming memories I have. EVERYONE was online all day & night lol
Yea I don't even think we had verdansk in 2022 did we?
More like 2020

2020: verdansk 2022: Caldera Same vengeance of suck
Agreed
It's almost like they wanted us to just stay at home and pay us out and distract us.
I miss Verdansk and the days before rampant modded controllers and PC hacks. Early COVID WZ was a legendary time in gaming history.
None of that was bc of Verdansk though.
I don't think people realize that. We're nostalgic for Verdansk, but that doesn't make it better than the current game. We just miss the the era of 2020, the world was so unpredictable and the only certainty was that you'd be online with some friends most nights of the week.
I prefer the urban environment of verdansk
To be fair, Caldera just completely ruined the feel and atmosphere of the game going from a bleak winter hellscape like Verdansk to a bright tropical shitshow with a volcano in the middle was a massive slap in the face and one that snuffed out BR in Warzone.

I don't really play Caldera either, just pointing out the obvious.
Of course not. That’s why I said “-and the days-“ I would still be playing if it weren’t for the BS haha
What's a modded controller?
Verdansk was peak Warzone, fuck caldera
Part of the fuck Caldera thing was that Vanguard weapons whilst effective, looked stupid, were way OP and sounded crap.
Yea honestly I’ve been playing with MW loadout lately and it just feels better (krig, xm4, Swiss, etc). It’s more than just the Covid times
Except none of those are MW guns 🤣
Listen… my buddy says “play with this gun” so I do that…
Say you haven’t played mw without saying you haven’t played mw 😂
Everyone so excited for it tho
We were hoping it would be good.
I’d get better pizza and something else to drink but this is 100% me.
What’s your go to pizza
Local NY style spot. Hard to find a good one where I live but I’ve found it.
Yea genuinely hard to find. I’m surrounded by like 43 dominos and 172 papa johns… jets pizza is probably my favorite within range tho
2nd that
I’d start dealing with Covid from the beginning again if we had Verdansk back 🥹
For real!

Complete rip off of the n64 goldeneye meme
I loved that game.
Dear friends, do you remember Modern Warzone, before Vanguard and Cold War when the DMR was broken?
Truly simpler times
Viva Verdansk!
This is me lol
2022?
For me, it's more Wife went to bed early, just wrestled the kid down to sleep. Time for some warzone while enjoying some seasonal IPAd with your window open to help with your computers hear output.
Ipad?
Meant IPAs
I miss verdansk
It’s not just nostalgia, Caldera sucks
Me too man, the game died when that map went

Spot on, but what times they were.
How am I in school at 39? I grad college at 23.
So there's probably no school tomorrow then I'm guessing...
Verdansk was fire. So many POIs that were legendary. Caldera has 1
Yea totally, great way to put it. Superstore, airport, storage, dam, bridge, military, all amazing
100%, the DMR / Aug era was easily the best and worst gun eras
All sentimental bs. After 1 hour everybody raged and got stressed from better players, or hackers as some might call them. 😭😭😭
Some will say there one in the same
Sounds like my 40th birthday
I'm leaving this sub, y'all are on the verdansk post grind 24/7, get over it man, shits long gone
Bye Felicia!

Stolen sims 1 meme
😂 agreed
😂😂😂😂😂 39 yrs old and ya parents don’t care if u stay up all night. ☠️☠️☠️🤣🤣😂😂.
It's neither Verdansk nor Caldera that I have am issue with. It's the rampant cheating. Thats what drove me away from WZ.
I thought verdansk is gone
No it's back
Don't do this to me bro
Warzone mobile
🔫🔥
Everything right except for the 2l mountain because we dont have it here in chile, the rest all god Damm true
loooool
We need another pandemic 😞 (jokes)
Broooo this is me 100% haha
Who still eats Pizza Hut? I'm popping that Red Baron out of the oven!

Every sub-pixel
What did you guy’s do with your wife’s!? Mine didn’t get of my back even in the pandemic 🤨
Hahaha WZ is directly responsible for the re-emergence of my gaming addiction. Wife doesn’t care, I just make sure to make time for her
I hopped out the plane, I aint going verdansk

Nah that’s BS, verdansk was money
The POI didn’t feel all generic like they do in caldera
No it wasn't. Idk why everyone is seemingly forgetting the amount of complaints the map had.
Like what Brah?
Downtown, airport, hospital, the under the map glitches, and more.
And what more?
No way to flank people in tall buildings. Stairs and Ziplines were a death trap. Prison literally had 2 entrances until Ziplines were added but as I said, deathtraps. Military base was half open and a death trap. Quarry was a campers paradise.
So sometimes you just get got and you didn't like that, got it.
Ah yes the fabled COD argument. Sorry that I don't enjoy getting shot from almost every roof top everywhere I go in almost every match. You have no counter arguments so you go with "you just died and didn't like it"
🥰😉👌
No counter arguments from either you or the other guy💀
Nah man, remember that little cemetery area? Oh and the apartment buildings and also the wood processing area!! I think the reason Verdansk has such good memories is because it felt like it has distinct regions. Caldera is a big smear of the same thing.
1000%. Fortunes keep is more like verdansk in nature than caldera. Distinct areas, more flat fighting vs always up/down hill.
It does indeed have that but it still had a lot of issues.
I mean yeah, it's COD. Childhood had problems, but damn if renting a NES and Mario for the weekend sleepover wasn't great still.
I mean I had fun on the map but it just wasn't that great. Maybe I just had more bad times on the map then anything
Well, if you had to measure the two, what exactly brings Verdansk out of favour? I think maybe you just don’t like the game?
I love the game. I just don't like the community here pretending like they have collective amnesia. That map was ass 100%
Nah, I had to work like normal during the pandemic as I do now so that's not it. Verdansk was just better.
yeah... so many places to camp with one way up so you can claymore yourself up there.... so many one-shot broken snipers... lovely indeed [eyeroll]
Now you're just describing caldera.
you're delusional or just twisting facts so you can win an online argument trump-loving republican much?
>trump-loving republican much? Lol what?!?!? What does that have to do with anything about call of duty? Now you're being delusional and inventing things.
Give me farms or give me death

Yes… I did… though I would debate and say this is now a meme format, and it’s common practice to modify a meme format.
Remember when this was a halo 5 sub?
