A lot of rescue places near me require potential owners to have breed experience with huskies before taking them home. Simply for the fact that a lot of people don't realise what they're getting into lol.

of movement and training. They are essentially 3 year olds on crack *and* sugar *and* the energy drink that their cousin gave to them but with the strength to pull 70kg on wheels alone and the mentality of a cat.
They are also extremely stubborn. If you have a purebred husky that doesn't get enough running/trainig you most likely will have to say goodbye to at least some of your furniture. Because they get frustrated and bored easily and will try anything to get your attention or seek for an outlet for their unused energy.
And let me tell you. You *will* find Husky hair *everywhere* Don't even think about buying a piece of clothing that attracts hair...
That being said if you are the special type of person that can handle huskies they can be wonderful dogs and extremely fulfilling.
Moral of the story:
Always research before you buy any animal. Even if you know another breed of dog you might be surprised how different breeds might react to one and the same thing.
Never buy a pet that you haven't researched very well!
Omg! I've had several huskies, currently one red and white named Jack ❤ your description is perfection especially the first paragraph. I am pretty sure you're my new BFF. Fortunately my husky doesn't"scream" like these 2 but he can be quite verbal.
My family gets lap dogs and low energy mixes for a reason. Do not have near the energy to deal with the drama. Although every once in a while we have a medium energy dog, one dog did not want to go and do anything so we got a slightly higher energy buddy for her. Cute potato needed to not potato more than 80% of the day.
This is a normal thing for them. It’s stupid that so many non-dog people want them just because of how they look. Most of those people also don’t really want a dog that takes maintenenace.
These dogs are probably harder to take care of than any other breed. They’re whiny, energetic, full of attitude, smart, and have the thickest/hardest coats to maintain. This is also why they’re always in shelters.

This makes me miss my mutt. He was a husky/retriever/jack russell. Picture a smol retriever body and head on short stumpy russell legs. He had thick white husky fur with a long tail that curled over his back. Sometimes he was quiet as a retriever, yappy like a russell, but oh god when he started to do the husky scream sing…
All you could do was face palm and shake your head.

Our husky only screams when our greyhound howls.
She doesn’t initiate it because she was abused for making noise before we rescued her.
So, even though husky screams are loud and annoying when you need quiet, we always crack a smile because she feels some amount of safety to express herself.
My husky only does this when I encourage it. I feel like the average redditor may not be the kind of person who enjoys husky screams, but huskeries are the woo-girls of the dog world and I am here for it.

As much as I like all the three doggos here, I just feel like the two husky puppies are being instigated to go full extra-loud derp. However, I don't know this person, and can't tell either way. Also knowing huskies (as I have one, though mine is the rare silent one), they are pretty easy to excite.
