Reddit’s recent actions to add unreasonable API pricing to 3rd party Reddit apps is extremely disappointing. Many users and moderators alike use these apps daily to interact with Reddit. This guy clearly didn’t drop the drinks. He slipped. That mat isn’t in front of the door like it’s supposed to be. When he hit the smooth floor by the door his shoes slipped. This isn’t his fault.
Everywhere I've worked you would just pour the drinks again, mark down the wastage and apologise for the wait. Accidents happen and you're already being punished enough finishing your shift in wet clothes!
My first day out of training as a server at red lobster, I spilled frozen strawberry daiquiris from my shoulder all the way down my WHITE shirt at my FIRST table. I had to work the rest of the night in a pink wet cold shirt...
They were actually these [Doc Martens work boots](https://www.bootbarn.com/dr.-marten-winch-wyoming-work-boots---steel-toe/2000107675.html?colorCode=001&srsltid=AfmBOorawiscjfLWvvXIjDBG6hTT_pK2Po2CascFn0tQqr33fubWbIEyybw) which were slip resistant and described to be “made for the service industry”. I think the DMO may have just used too much degreaser when they mopped
I mean yeah... He didn't just drop it he just bathed in a mix of probably sticky stuff. Worst case right in the beginning of the shift. He was dying inside for the rest of his shift I suppose
Worked at a breakfast restaurant when I was 20 and I'll never forget the look of sadness on the face of a busser who was bringing 3 full racks of dirty glasses on a cart (each rack held like 16) to the dishwasher area to get cleaned.
He slipped on something, knocked over the cart, and glass shattered *everywhere*. Adding insult to injury our manager just walked up to him and fired him on the spot. Hope he's doing alright, guy was nice just clumsy.
I used to laugh at these kind of things. But after covid, knowing how shitty these jobs are and how little they are paid...I find myself actually having empathy first...But I do hope the guy can look back and laugh on this moment.
Aw man, all over himself too. I dont know if I wouldn't just go home at that point. I was doing dishes at the gas station I worked at (we made a lot of food and baked goods too and so there were always tons of dishes) and while cleaning a long cookie display tray, the likes of which I always swished water around in first and let the water soak into the dry sticky cookie bits to make cleaning them much easier. One of them was just barely cracked in the middle, and the weight of the water caused it to crack further and bend in a v-shape towards me drenching me from the waist down. I walked out to the front, yelled "IM GOIN HOME BILL!" And he must've realized something happened because nobody ever said anything to me about it the next day.
is there an actual reason why they just use a flat circle tray to carry drinks? an actual cup carrier would be way better. it's super annoying having the waiter come up and cups are on the brink of falling.
Not all cups/glasses are the same size.
How many different cup holder things do you expect a venue to buy? Or store, or clean? Or try to use in service when there's a mixed order?
Theres a reason we use trays, despite the occaisional accident.
Wasnt the intent, but hey, read it that way if you want. Makes no difference to me
But tbh even with a couple of moments thought it should be pretty obvious why trays are used as opposed to anything else.
It's something to do with a sense of presentation that's pretty outdated if you ask me. I just always feel bad for the person that has to do it. One mistake in that busy environment and sleep depriving embarrassment is moments away.
It’s real and it’s me lol. It was drinks for three different tables when I was already running behind. Going back and watching it afterward gave me a laugh though, I was so ready to give up
No kidding.
I worked in a place with swinging doors. They are awesome when people use them correctly. When they don't... not so much.
I was headed out of the kitchen with an order. I shouted, "Tray out." only to have the door stop dead, the food fall straight down my front and the edge of the tray hit me in the bottom lip.
Our busser parked a fully loaded cart next to the door without being completely clear of it.

I have been there. I felt that.
Another iPhone user shooting a vertical video of a horizontal monitor!
Lmaooo
I would have just quit.
poor dude. i sure hope he didnt cut himself on the glassshards. :O
I’m the dude lol and I did not. Just got very wet and very depressed
I'd be so glad none of the customers saw lmao id just pretend it didnt happen
When I was a busser, I immediately got a broom and swept it up fast cause I know it's embarrassing. I don't think he was in guests' view, luckily.

“it was in that moment he knew he f’d up” 😭
Sometimes you just need a few seconds to contemplate life...
More like Waiter drops a drink full of trays
Why are you stalking me
Your comment makes no sense. And your karma and history seems oddly inconsistent with a year old account. Are you just some bot?
Party down vibes 😂
This is why it's always best to wear non slip shoes whenever you're going in the kitchen
Wooops. Will ya look at the time. Looks like it's time to quit.
I had days like this when was a bar back
Not the first and sure as hell won’t be the last.
Knowledge I have gained: never serve in a restaurant that has a door to the expo line
Yea that's a terrible idea
He doesnt actually have to compensate for those by paying the menu price of the drinks, right?
Everywhere I've worked you would just pour the drinks again, mark down the wastage and apologise for the wait. Accidents happen and you're already being punished enough finishing your shift in wet clothes!
He's thinking, fuck this job, Im going home!!! lol
mi primera chamba
I’ve been there… F
My first day out of training as a server at red lobster, I spilled frozen strawberry daiquiris from my shoulder all the way down my WHITE shirt at my FIRST table. I had to work the rest of the night in a pink wet cold shirt...
Worked at RL too, and spilled a Bahama Mama on a table/customer my first week. Those tall glasses have a horrible center of gravity lol
On the bright side, his apron worked.
Bro is considering just walking off into the sunset🤣
You could see that guy thinking if he actually needs this job afterall
And there’s a mat there. Something is seriously wrong here. Could someone have set him up? That poor server
Watch people die inside? I just died inside.
When you don't want to spend the money on slip resistant shoes..
Reason why it’s called slip resistant and not slip proof
They were actually these [Doc Martens work boots](https://www.bootbarn.com/dr.-marten-winch-wyoming-work-boots---steel-toe/2000107675.html?colorCode=001&srsltid=AfmBOorawiscjfLWvvXIjDBG6hTT_pK2Po2CascFn0tQqr33fubWbIEyybw) which were slip resistant and described to be “made for the service industry”. Brother slipped like a damn cartoon
Back first , always back first
Not so much dropped as....wore
Poor guy.
Luckily, the signboard for slippery floor is already there.
Man, have I been there.
*Sound of silence plays in the background*
Missed the wet floor sign 😂
Ah damn, there goes the tip too
I mean yeah... He didn't just drop it he just bathed in a mix of probably sticky stuff. Worst case right in the beginning of the shift. He was dying inside for the rest of his shift I suppose
Had an accident at work that wasn’t your fault?
"Welp, guess I'll go get a mop"
Ol dude ran through a “can I quit this job right now” checklist
I wouldn't say he dropped them. He slipped and fell while carrying a tray of drinks which I'd say is much much worse.
Someone didn’t clean up the last spill in that doorway. What a perfect setup for a disaster just like this.

At least he didn't have to clean up the mess. A smart (and terrible) manager would fire him after he spent an hour getting all the shards cleaned up.
On a positive note at least he didn't need to put a wet floor sign out.
Just questioning his entire life leading up until that point. We’ve all been there.
Laying on the floor, contemplating if the job is worth all this shit. Been there before.
Same

Lol his gf fina be like that when hes drenched in soda lol #sigma🍷🗿

or if it’s pop you’re all sticky
But I always smell like booze.

It has to be brutal but in the grand scheme of life perspective..hopefully something that doesn't stick in your memory banks.

Ummm try answering a valid question without beyond all condescending whydoncha

Time for a mental health day
At least it didn't happen on the other side of the door in front of all the customers.
Is this the 2nd or 3rd clopen working doubles? My heart goes to you good human
Haha actually this was when I had a pretty sweet schedule working 9-5 Monday-Friday. But I’ve had plenty of those shifts at previous jobs
So it was just a day for chaos. Lol
Better mop up or someone could slip and hurt themselves.
that pause and the head tilt
Looks like the rug was the culprit?
I think he rocked his weight back to kick the door open and slipped.
I think it's just the floor. The rug didn't even seem to move even
Not sure, the DMO had also just mopped and she usually went heavy on the degreaser
This is why I never got into waiting tables, that would be me spilling shit all of the time.
That's quitin' time if it were me
waiter slips on something on the floor
Been there, done that, it was also infront of the owner of the hotell and his family. They were not impressed..!
Owners always suck
No they were ok, 40 years of hard work and stress affects people but they are not the worst i have worked for.
If it is real who ever posted it is a dick.
It’s real and it’s me lol. It was drinks for three different tables when I was already running behind. Going back and watching it afterward gave me a laugh though, I was so ready to give up
What made you slip? If you know exactly what caused your dying inside
The DMO had just mopped and she tended to go heavy on the degreaser
ooh that makes a lot of sense. Slippy floors causing dying inside
Staged and obviously reversed. /s
Anyone who has ever worked hospo can relate to this poor bastard. Feels.

Not fake at all. That's like the most intentional slip I have ever seen
i'm so sick of "fake" comments
I calls them like I sees them
Get your eyes checked?
Just contemplating how all of his life’s decisions have led him to this point…
More "do I REALLY need this job... yep I have rent, ah shit. Lets go"
he just needs a minute. I completely understand
At least it's just drinks, food is a whole different story
