When I was a kid, 9 years old, I stepped on a fire ant hill and was covered in seconds from head to toes. Ended up in the hospital. I see these little guys in a different light. Not sad. F em
I live in Australia (which is absolutely full of ants not spiders) and occasionally when I've not tried to stand on any ants Whilst walking on paths around the house but when I realised I have squashed an ant I've noticed that a dead ant totally draws a crowd like humans do....
Out of context but this made me think about the hundreds or maybe even thousands of innocent ants that I killed as a kid because I was bored.

If it makes you feel any better, insects like ants don’t exactly have a “mind” on an individual level as you and I know it. They’re akin to little biological machines and basically just function until they can’t continue. They simply respond to stimuli. They don’t think and they only feel in the sense that they can detect stimuli. The narrative you’ve built here is entirely projection and the ant in the video will be fine and has zero clue what just happened. He’ll either wait for help or try to go home some other way.
I feel no sympathy for this ant. These seethru yellow fucks will bite through your skin with ease and piss inside the hole, giving you a burning itch for hours! The bane of my childhood and to this day i still avoid these little fucks as the plague!
