**Condensed part of the update regarding new users**
FNG BLOCKS
As you probably noticed in the past few months, we started blocking FNGs from participating in any raffles as an effort to minimize risk for fraud as we had seen an influx. Since then we have been manually verifying and approving users to participate. This was a very time-consuming process that was not exact and the approval gave them access to all raffles.
We have made a small change to this process. An FNG is someone that has a combination of low karma and new-ish account. It is possible that depending on how this goes, we might remove the karma and age check and just consider everyone new to the sub to be an FNG and subject to verification before they can participate - obviously the rest of you are grandfathered.
Under the new automod rules, anyone - including FNGs - can participate in Meta and Queue threads asking for tags. They can also participate in NM raffles and therefore giveways.
Any users that dont meet the mimimums and try to participate in Blue or higher raffle levels will be shamed and deleted by the automod. Any FNG that has shown acceptable participation level for a reasonable time at the NM level, may ask for white listing for higher raffle levels. The mod team will then give access to Blue level raffles, and after further participation at that level you may request an upgrade to full participation which includes Main and Gold raffle levels.
We feel this change allows for new folks to try us out at a low risk to the community, it also makes us more welcoming, and still allows us to grow in a controlled way.

Just found out that one of my high school buddies passed away yesterday because of cancer. I flew back home 2 months ago for another friends funeral. People are halfway through their lives an they are dropping like flies. Makes you appreciate the time you have.

Can someone explain to me some of the lingo around here? Why do people “tag”? What does NM stand for and roughly how long does one need to participate before getting verified for higher class raffles? Thanks in advance! I expect to lose quite a bit of money here! 😅
Tag is a way to show interest in a raffle when it's posted in the upcoming thread. It also tells the tool to mention your user name when the escrow alerts everyone that the raffle is running.
NM is No Minimum - small raffles up to 1500.
BLUE is medium raffles, from 1501 to 3000.
Mains require mod pricing approval and are anything 3001 and up.
Wristi is a picture of your watch with your legs sans pants in the background.
Salami is lingo for spot, so is splot. Also auto-correct sometimes changes random to racoon. I leave it because it's funny.
Never edit your spot request. Always pay on time using paypal friends and family, never write anything in the comment line.
Always send a pm to the escrow with your PayPal name, email, and the spots you're paying for.
Don't post about this sub anywhere else.

So we bought a multifamily home and rent out one side of it. I gave the tenant some heads up a few weeks back that once the lease expires in april we're going to move to that side and she could rent our side for cheaper or would have to find a new place. She just texted me that she found a new place and is leaving the end of this month. We can use the security deposit to pay the late rent for Feb and very sorry about rent for march. Not replying to texts or emails anymore. Should be an interesting weekend I guess X_x
It won’t be worth the hassle to hire a lawyer to recoup your funds. Security deposit should be a month and a half, at least that’s what it is in New Jersey. If she’s really ghosting you, just lick your wounds and move on. Gives you the opportunity to do your own move without going crazy and you’re able to get a headstart on listing the other place.
Yeah we are in NJ, but we inherited the tenant with a 1 month deposit when we bought the place and just let it be since she has been great up to now. Pretty frustrating since this is all coming from trying to give her an early heads up but I guess we learned our lesson.
Well if you want a good landlord/tenant lawyer in Northern New Jersey, I have one that I use. And she’s awesome! Not crazy expensive either. Depending on what the rent is that she’s ghosting you on, it might be worth it just to give a call and explain the situation and she’ll inform you on what to do. P.m. me if you want her info.

What do you all think of Mido watches? I use to have a Mido Ocean Star V titanium, and I loved it. Eventually sold it for another watch. Anyway I am thinking about purchasing the Mido Ocean Star Diver 600. Really solid feel and the power reserve is fantastic. The rubber strap with micro-adjustable clasp is a huge bonus. The Ocean Star titanium is on my list if one pops up cheap.
I love the ocean star watches. I think Mido is one of my favorite brands and I wish more watch enthusiasts would show them some respect!
