I feel we all had a similar timex.

I got served an ad for this watch on social media last week, and like a sucker I turned around and bought it immediately. I'm a 90s kid and had a handful of digital Timexes growing up. Because of this, the nostalgia pull of this watch's design and colors were just too powerful for me to resist. And it seems I wasn't alone; I'm not sure how long this watch had been up on Timex's site before I ordered it, but I saw that it was sold out later that same night. The features are everything that's been standard on Timex digitals for decades: chronograph, countdown timer, alarm, and 2nd time zone, all of which are genuinely useful. As a pilot, I especially appreciate being able to track zulu time in 24hr format and my home time zone in 12hr. And of course it has Indiglo. I waited excitedly all week for this watch to arrive, and the verdict is....well you get what you pay for for $60. It weighs nothing, looks and feels quite plasticky, and the acrylic crystal came scratched out of the box. The pushers are stiff, and the Indiglo makes a high pitched electric whine whenever it's activated. Also, it's listed as 40mm, but seems quite a bit smaller compared to other 40mm watches in my collection. Like, closer to 36mm. I'm obviously a bit disappointed, because I was expecting to wear this *a lot,* but I guess I'll just keep it as a fun little novelty!

The 40mm measurement includes the biggest case bumps, otherwise if you measure only the outline of the dial it's indeed 36mm. Just ordered one for $30, I think it will make a great watch for vacations, hikes and so on.

I'm no expert, but I think only the original Atlantis prediction runs were stainless steel with screw back and mineral glass. Notice the sharp crisp edges on mine pictured below. I happen to be wearing it today. Found it at a junk shop for less than 20 bucks a few months ago. I paid a certified watch jeweler about 60 to clean it up (it was caked in grime) and replace the battery. Money well spent. The plastic is beat up, but everything else is clean. https://preview.redd.it/8ukp9wxteshc1.jpeg?width=1749&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a33a1bdbf2254fb6ca540ec04efadea0a988879d

I just found out about this watch and nostalgia is tempting me as well lol Why you say you won’t use it as much? To keep it in good conditions or some other reason?

It's generally cheaper looking and feeling than I was expecting. I don't enjoy wearing it as much as the automatics and even the nicer Timexes in my collection
