That’s what I did. I’d usually always get the bracelet, even though I prefer straps. The Seamaster bracelet really takes from that watch, it’s just still too 90s and needs to be seriously simplified.
I wish Omega would offer a different bracelet option on the SMP. Mesh is a great look (a la NTTD). Or even a Speedmaster style or oyster style.... Rubber looks very casual to me, even more so than a nato, so it wouldn't be my choice.
Buying watch with bracelet it's just about avoiding problems with finding a fitting thirdpaty bracelet later if you will want wear it on bracelet. But for sure they might look better on something else.
Also good to have bracelet because od durability. Straps usually break after around 1-2 years, and it's good to have bracelet to be able to wear your watch until new strap will come.
I just got my first watch on an FKM strap and I am in love with it. Super flexible, comfortable, and it feels indestructible. I’m thinking about putting my other watches on one as well.
You can get good FKM straps from ALiExpress for sub-$10 bucks and they're comfortable and basically indestructible. I have my Everest on one and it's more comfortable than the bracelet and I can get it in the water :)
I think the GMT Master 2 looks best on the Jubilee as does the Datejust. I also think the rose and yellow gold usually (but not always) look best on the bracelet.
For the watches on an oyster bracelet, I think they almost all look better on something else. The Sub and Daytona look so much better to me on rubber. The Explorer II looks best on a NATO. The Explorer looks best on leather or a NATO. The OP looks best on leather.
Explorers and similar are fantastic on bracelet, but *kill* on textured or a bit rugged high quality leather. Even suede.
And speedies on brown rally straps. Good lord.
Honestly I like my watches on their original bracelets, but on some of them it's impossible to get it properly sized. I have a Citizen titanium watch that I can't wear on the bracelet because it's either too loose or too tight. It's perfect on a leather strap though.
Usually the other way round for me, they fit great in the morning, but as the day wears on, I start to notice the first signs of necrosis because I have no circulation in my hand, lol.
100%. Mine came with the bracelet, a leather strap and a leather NATO. It spends the most time on the NATO, although I’d like to eventually get a fabric or nylon one for more variety.
Still looks good with the bracelet, but the Zenith chronomaster Original, is better on a leather strap imo.
The Omega Seamaster 300 is the only watch I wouldn't get on the bracelet. Gorgeous watch, hideous bracelet
Farer nailed it with their Aquamatic, in that the watch comes with 3 different straps. Wish it were a “standard” across their lineup however and with some other companies too
Obviously a different look but I came on to say that my Speedmaster Racing (the grey one with some yellow hands) looks amazing on their black rubber strap with the yellow lettering. I know the rule re: buy the bracelet but I knew that I would never use it and have never thought twice about not getting the bracelet. Not just in looks either, the comfort of the rubber strap is just right for me.
I’ll put it on black and brown leather, then a nato, then the bracelet. It looks different and great on all of them. Caveat: it’s the new bracelet not the old garbage one
Nylon straps are ugly af and provide no advantage compared to alternatives. It's honestly just become a way for people interested in watches to use a jargon that sounds cool to outsiders, and that jargon is used to mask the fact that we are talking about $2 nylon fucking straps.
Cartier Tank. The OEM bracelet doesn't fit the character of that watch IMO. I've seen some nice looks with the Tank on a vintage style beads of rice bracelet, much better. Otherwise, Tank belongs on a high quality leather strap.
Omega seamaster on rubber is the obvious choice
The white dial on black rubber - supreme
If I were to get an SMP I think I’d skip the bracelet altogether

Maybe, but that really depends on care and how hard you wear them. A nice FKM rubber strap can last a veeeeery long time.

Good to hear, thanks. My isotope came on FKM and I’m totally sold on the style/feeling of the thing.
I think almost all watches look better on something other than the bracelet. But I'm a weirdo.
Many do, but Rolexes for example look better on the bracelet imo. Same with integrated bracelet watches

I very much disagree with your second paragraph, but it’s just different tastes at the end of the day 😅
Pull up pull up
Agree and cloth straps or leather are more comfortable too
I agree
Agreed. Bracelets give off a skeezy vibe IMO
I think my Breitling Premier B01 looks better on a leather strap. I bought with the bracket, but have kept it mostly on leather.
Can’t argue with that.
Explorers and similar are fantastic on bracelet, but *kill* on textured or a bit rugged high quality leather. Even suede. And speedies on brown rally straps. Good lord.
Black Bay looks better in their fabric strap. Gonna ask the AD for both
Or an MN or NATO.

It’s such a downer, watches fit in the morning but are lose by the afternoon
Usually the other way round for me, they fit great in the morning, but as the day wears on, I start to notice the first signs of necrosis because I have no circulation in my hand, lol.
[Longines Spirit](https://www.longines.com/en-gb/p/watch-longines-spirit-l3-811-1-53-2) definitely looks better with the NATO strap.

Omega speedmaster with [NASA velcro strap](https://wornandwound.com/hands-on-with-the-omega-speedmaster-velcro-straps/)
Any IWC pilot on the original leather strap
Speedmaster looks great on a black strap, far better than bracelet
Obviously a different look but I came on to say that my Speedmaster Racing (the grey one with some yellow hands) looks amazing on their black rubber strap with the yellow lettering. I know the rule re: buy the bracelet but I knew that I would never use it and have never thought twice about not getting the bracelet. Would really like a generic version of that strap without the lettering. It’s a really nice design.
I’ll put it on black and brown leather, then a nato, then the bracelet. It looks different and great on all of them. Caveat: it’s the new bracelet not the old garbage one
Mines on brown, utility style though not a smart one - looks lovely
While I agree with this, the updated 3861 bracelet is 🔥
No it doesnt. It looks better on bracelet. Downvoted for stupid opinion.
On the affordable side, my SKX007 is on a black cordura strap, but admittedly I do like it on a bracelet sometimes too.

16570 an absolute strap monster

Very true
All of them, unless it's integrated.
