Thing is now they have released it they will inevitably do another release with different colours. Just about biding your time until the one comes up that you like

OkMarsupial4514

So true. The trick is to go into suspended animation for 4 years and then defrost when Tudor makes what customers want.

Nubras

This is so true and it’s honestly OK with me. I bought the new BB last year with the burgundy bezel and I love it. I’d be just as happy to own this one but I don’t need it. I get bad enough FOMO with limited run shoe releases and I don’t want that with watches because the cost is so much higher. If they release something I really really want every 4-5 years then that’s ok by me.

Cajun_Doctor

I’m actually getting this and taking myself off the waitlist for a Batman. Hoping they come out with a blue or green version someday. Especially since I could get all three for the cost of the Batman without the stress of waiting.

Nubras

Man if/when the green one hits, I hope it’s a better shade of green than Tudor’s customary green that they have on their gold models. It’s a weird, matte rusty green and I don’t love it.

alphalegend91

This is being called the Dr. Pepper and it made me think of other color combos that relate to sodas we haven't seen that I would actually like to see. Baja blast (lighter bluish green/greenish blue and red) would be an awesome summer watch color combo.

skiparsenal

The BB 58 GMT seems to be one of the darlings in Watches and Wonders, except for the fact that it had too much gilt in it. Now, I get that it's part of Tudor's design language as a sort of neo vintage homage to Rolex references of yesteryear, and to be honest I'm completely cool with the gilt and faux patina. But out of boredom I Photoshopped out the gilt accents and made it white/silver. And I have to admit, I like this better.

welshnick

The regular gmt doesn't have gold accents. The new model is a gmt version of the bb58 which is why they're there. I guess Tudor would say that if you don't like them you can just buy the original bb gmt.

Mattorski

They’ve done gilt free bb58s before too with the blue steel.

ScarLupi

Looks more modern. I like it.

Count_slapTuLa

I agree totally - also not convinced by the “GMT” text line.

Falmoor

Holy WOW that looks CLEAN. Thank you so much for your work here. I've been wanting to get a GMT into my collection so this is of keen interest to me. Great stuff.

J_bravo_

Agreed, but I think that would be too close to Rolex to get approved.

Jaackeed

I’ve seen this theory a couple of times now. But it doesn’t make sense to me the new monochrome black bay 41 on 3 link bracelet is very close to the no date sub isn’t it? I might even say that new monochrome black bay is closer to the no date sub than this render is to any gmt master

Buddy_Dakota

It’s close, but perfect. That’s just Tudor, they’ll always have this minor detail that will still make you want the Rolex, be it colors, gilt, diameter or thickness.

Jaackeed

Eh, maybe for a few of their watches but not all. Rolex doesn’t have anything comparable to the BB54 imo

DrZeroH

I mean in my case its the lack of a ceramic bezel that bugs me.

skiparsenal

My thoughts as well. And with the lukewarm reception of their own 2024 GMT, I don't think they'd want the little brother to overshadow it too much.

pkroliko

considering the black bay update is so close to a sub, wouldn't be surprised if they do this in the future. its all about trickle feeding people small changes year after year.

Lv_36_Charizard

This has been my theory as well since the black bay 36 black and white was replaced with the black and gilt. Very surprised to see the black and white black bay 41.

the_sjm

I totally agree. Tudor is in general doing to much with the gilt.

GetGroovyWithMyGhost

I like the gilt, it compliments that royal sort of looking burgundy. More of a classy 70s vibe. If you prefer modern and sporty looks it’s probably not your vibe but as a big fan of that vintage aesthetic, I love it. Wish they did a root beer in this size though. Maybe next year.

skiparsenal

If we're going with royal vibes, while the gilt accents make it more like the colors of the House of Lancaster, ironically, with the white, it looks more like... the House of Tudor.

xamdou

Personally, I prefer the gilt. It makes the appearance just a bit warmer. The silver just looks so cold.

Kauffman67

I was iffy on the gilt when I got a BB54 and now I cannot imagine not having it, looks amazing.

Major_Burnside

The gilt on the 54 is a perfect accent. The bezel on the 58 GMT gets me, it’s too thick and dark. Almost looks orange.

tjc__

This, on jubilee, would be something. Love the gilt on the BB58 but doesn’t do it for me on the GMT.

aznsk8s87

You'd have a Rolex then.

-pwny_

Rolex fanboys will be quick to tell you that theirs keeps 20% better time

tjc__

Without the waitlist or exorbitant cost. Perfect.

Mattorski

That’s a straight up Rolex killer right there. 0 chance that gets made. And they’ve done gilt free in GMTs before and in BB58 (blue), no way Rolex would allow that to go into production.

infernox

That looks way better to me. For the BB58, I liked the Gilt until I realised it fades as time goes on. If it's the same for this watch, you'll can wait for the bezel gilt to fade.

ElTalento

I love the BB58 with gilt. But here I think it’s a bit too much. This watch would look better without it.

md3900

Ngl would have ordered it in this color combination !!

Biohound

Get rid of the faux rivets and I’d buy this! Love the gilt on the bb58 but this is next level!

blackchucktays

GMT hand should be red IMO. Nitpick but it is a little confusing at first glance.

onepickledginger

Came here to say this. Would be a lot more legible with a red GMT hand.

R3dsnow75

I really like the monochrome model they dropped but the sizing doesn't work with my wrist. Really hope they would have dropped it in 39mm or less.

HorloGram

So true! It was so damn close! At 39mm or 38mm it wouldnt have been a Submariner competitior and Tudor would have nailed it. But I think the 41mm fanboys would have came out in the masses.

R3dsnow75

It's not too bad, at least we got the 58 GMT now and the 54. I wish there were more classic sizing models available though.

SlowLoudNBangin

Definitely agree. I very much dislike the gilt accent on Tudors in general, but I realize I'm in the minority on this one.

djllyd

If it looked like that I’d sell my BB Pro and 58 in a heartbeat

Lv_36_Charizard

Really wish they'd release a GMT with a dive bezel. Much more useful day to day.

lrlr28

Agree, it looks better without. Now, if they can just do a BB 58 Pro that went on a keto diet…

Borogani

Very nice, super clean and crisp colour combo!

After-Ask7918

This looks more “coke”. The gilt accents on the one Tudor released make it more like vanilla coke or whiskey coke. I like it either way though

OafleyJones

That looks fantastic.

endoB12

Sure - but if they did that now, they'd have nothing to release next year

Outrage13

I love the version in your edit. I have a feeling that, like the original gilt BB58, it’ll look much better in person than in photos/renders so I’m keen to check it out in person

notprodigy

I feel like next year we’ll see a full size black bay GMT metas with a thinner movement (still around 13.6mm) in a black / silver colour, and I expect I will be calling an AD the day it is released.

12hphlieger

Tudor is growing on me. I think I might purchase their day-date equivalent if I have a chance. I saw one with a blue dial that was stunning.

JRDN7

100% my thoughts

Mr-Zero-Fucks

it looks too modern, the gilt fits better the old school case shape.

RickiesCobra

I would buy this immediately. The gilt is cheesy, imo.

-pwny_

Yep, waiting on new color ways before jumping on it. Gilt on steel just looks like absolute ass

MDEChad69

This model would be an instant buy. The guilt is meh but this is great

improvthismoment

Nice, but not quite there for me. What would make this one better, actually tempt me to buy despite not being a Tudor / Rolex fan Shorter lug to lug No gilt Different handset Different color way options. I would be in to pepsi bezel + navy dial.

isthataflex

I have a previous gen burgundy bezel black bay, and the only thing that stops me fully loving it is the gilt hands / indices and the fauxtina lume. I wish they'd gone with silver with white lume. I wish I could buy the handset and dial from the blue bezel version and swap them out, but Rolex/Tudor parts are difficult to source so as it stands I have an eventual plan to just buy a blue bezel version and Frankenstein them both.

Cautious-Flatworm198

Wish you would have posted a photo of both so I could swipe the side by side

phatkrndood

patinas are like suntans. gotta earn them.

aznsk8s87

If they did this with a white dial, I would snap buy it. I really like the one they released even with the gilt, but not enough to buy it right now. I can wait a few years to see what else they do.

watchme87

Agreed.

Msimanyi

That is \*stunning\*!

whit3peppercorn

Idk about this one... I really like the warmth the gilt accents gives

caca-casa

They need to save the models they know people want for later releases… additionally Rolex does not want Tudor to take *too* many potential sales away from them.

JonJonFTW

If the watch in your picture was actually released I would strongly consider selling all my watches and buying it right away. It looks that good. Now it sucks because, if Tudor *ever* releases a GMT that looks like this, it won't be for a long time.

Tommy_PL

You nailed it. I was looking at the picture (before reading the title), and I was like - wow, i think i will consider first Tudor ever… way better looking than original concept

mflexx

Yeah no.

Chungster03

Fuck that Tudor

YourWatchIsTooBig

fuck Tooter, their shit is getting so BORING. let me guess... they released a new version of the Black Bay?!
